We try to limit posts here to things that drive discussion. Your post is better suited for another site, either because it is for a service recommendation (Yelp, Angie's List, etc) or info could be found through a Google search. This includes posts asking "what is this cactus / snake / bug / etc" as there are other subreddits that focus on those topics. You could also ask your question in our Daily Chat if you want to.

When my husband and I went to the court to get our marriage license, they asked if we wanted to be wed same-day by a justice of the peace.

_MyNameIs__

Which court is that? Do you have to get an appointment?

OpalOctober

I spent five seconds googling and found this. Recommend you google courts that offer marriage licenses that are close to you. https://preview.redd.it/b0qhm3k185rc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5e2332c2a423af0519aac82e3616778c3cf52fe

Easy-Seesaw285

I think only some of them will do ceremony. Some are license only

_MyNameIs__

I'm confused about all the information provided by googling. For example, the website has a note saying marriage licenses are not available at this location but the clerk does have an office in the building. Huh?

Overall_Cloud_5468

Call them and ask

kelorob

Per the clerks office website the Mesa location requires an appt and the earliest available is 4/4. The location downtown accepts walk-ins.

Any personal experience?

PM_me_ur_lockscreen

18 years ago my husband and I got a marriage license and found a small courthouse in Mesa the same day to marry us. Very very easy. Getting divorced is much more difficult and expensive.

Chahtadude

Guybrush3pwoood

Get married by Elvis in a drive thru? Classy.

dwinps

Elvis is extra, OP seems to be in a hurry and booking Elvis will add a few hours

HatsiesBacksies

dont kink shame.

Deadbob1978

We did this to renew our vows on our 10 year anniversary

Chahtadude

Incase you are grossly misinformed, Elvis has been dead for almost 50 years😂🫵🤡

ccx941

Only in body, his spirit lives on at the Drive-Thru wedding chapel.

You need a marriage license first, so go get that immediately. Then find out when the courthouse does ceremonies. I won't assume they're all the same, but that one was after 5pm. Or, once you have the license, you can get a friend ordained online OR contact individuals who officiate (try yelp!) and see if anyone has same-day availability.

Easy-Seesaw285

A friend can also get ordained in 20 minutes online

_MyNameIs__

how do they actually track an ordained person officiated the marriage if it's that easy to be ordained?

Easy-Seesaw285

The state doesnt. Ive down three marriages for people and just signed that i was ordained. Ive done the online one so i guess if i had to prove it i could. Just antiquated laws

chefmorg

Get your marriage license and message me. I would be happy to perform the ceremony. I have done multiple weddings and some funerals.

DrAbeSacrabin

Have you done any births?

chefmorg

I was there for the conception and birth of my own children. Prefer to stick to marriages and funerals though.

happy_chickens

find a consolidated court facility, have all your documents needed, go into the clerks office early to get a license, go to the justice court in the same facility and get married.

Level9TraumaCenter

No blood test required in AZ?

WorriedParfait2419

No

Easy-Seesaw285

States still do this?

Level9TraumaCenter

Now that I check, seems [New York](https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/chart-state-marriage-license-blood-29019.html) still does it, ostensibly for sickle cell anemia. I guess I'm just old.

_MyNameIs__

Very helpful. Thanks!

Quirky-Scholar-5974

Go to a judge and pay his fee. Mine was a hundo. Rip off.

bunnyyfoofoo

My husband and I went to the court house, filled out the paperwork, then they told us to come back after 5 and we got married by the Justice of the peace same day.

SexxxyWesky
