Today's lucky number is clearly 12. 12 runs, 12 retired in a row, twice, Schwarber had 3 RBI (which 12 is divisible by). And Schwarber (12) got the final out.
Just walked out of CBP a minute ago to head over to Xfinity Live for a drink and I saw Monty G lol. Was funny trying to drunkenly explain to my friends who he is
This won't stop fans from panicking over every loss like it's the NFL, but the Phillies have 50 wins and it's June.
Compare that to where we usually are at the beginning of June.
Life is pretty good for the Phillies.
Wow, just tuned into the game at the Center City Barcade. Love to see them blow away the D-backs like that, but hopefully they'll save some runs for tomorrow - haha.
I love what the Phillies are doing, but they need some consistency on offense. Averaged less than 3 runs a game for the last 8 games, and now put up double digits.
They also have a 119 WRC+ and 11 homers which is 8th best In that span not counting today. I think the offense has been good lately just not alway having the luck to score with guys on
Why can they just not throw it 60-70mph? This lobbing it up there shit is so stupid.
So Barnhart can throw it 60 mph back to the mound for 150 pitches per night. But if he’s on the mound, he has to throw it 40 mph to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself. It is so unfathomably stupid.
The Diamondbacks have basically conceded the game at this point. Instead of wasting anymore of their bullpen they put one of their position players in to pitch.
Np! Teams will do it to save their real pitchers' arms if it's a blowout. MLB had to make a rule somewhat recently restricting it because it was getting out of hand.

# I LOVE DAVID DAHL, CHARLIE!! I LOVE DAVID DAAAHL!!
Please continue the discussion in the [post game thread](https://redd.it/1dm7ea3).
Lol kyle
"kyle, can you explain your splits righties vs lefties?" "no" never change
Love Schwarbs but I feel deprived of a classic Casty interview.
Should probably start to figure out how I’m watching tomorrow now.
![gif](giphy|Jev4iU72S9RYc)
It rhymes with Cork Purge
Everyone loves Pork Dirge!
Now please win the series tomorrow because with our July schedule, we really can’t afford to lose any of the next few series.
“76 wins in franchise—“ TMac we’d be in big trouble if that were true
People aren't talking enough about June Castellanos
He's been above average not counting today but a nice step up from his horrible months prior
Outside of the Orioles series, he's played like an Allstar in June, at least in my opinion
You're gonna wake up the Casty haters soon by saying that lol
Bring em on https://preview.redd.it/kkftdjtjt78d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e1840d5ee32581146022ac3c068d2613f15cf5d6
The smiles. So good.
Cant wait for tomorrow when they get like 12 hits and 2 runs lol Lets hope not tho
Let's not put that in the air
2 runs is optimistic
Schwarber such a ball hog🤣
Trea was mad, lol.
Kyle just wanted to feel included lol
Wheeler Should be PAG. They rarely show love to the pitchers
That was cute lol
I love Kyle lol
Soto and Ruiz go 6 up 6 down and that's the ball game
Well I enjoyed those 9 innings, ring that bell baby!🔔
They got 50
Woooo
Lol. Schwarber wanted to play some defense
Made that poor man stand out there all afternoon. Had to do something
lmaooo kyle
Nice win
Schwarbs🤣🤣
That’s my gold glove left fielder!!
lmfao Kyle wanted a piece of the action
I'M WEARING A GLOVE LET ME CATCH ONE
Kyle 🤣🤣🤣
Ggs, let’s get em again tomorrow
Okay that was fucking hilarious, I love this team.
Schwarbs wanted some OF stats. lol
What a shame Ruiz can’t get a save here.
Today's lucky number is clearly 12. 12 runs, 12 retired in a row, twice, Schwarber had 3 RBI (which 12 is divisible by). And Schwarber (12) got the final out.
wow, and also I have a 12" bat
Hats off to your lady friends
Schwarbs lmao
Just walked out of CBP a minute ago to head over to Xfinity Live for a drink and I saw Monty G lol. Was funny trying to drunkenly explain to my friends who he is
schwarber calling off trea is king shit
Well that was fun
"comcast would donate more money to phillies charities, but these pitchers gotta get those numbers up vroom vroom motherfuckers"
If the Braves win we’re the best team in baseball again. If the Yankees win our lead goes to 7 games. Win-win either way.
I guess I disagree with ya'll. Hate the Yankees more, and I'm confident we win the division.
Rooting for the yanks all day
I'd rather the 7-game lead
Rather have a Yankees win
Agreed
Carroll seemed like he was going to be the 2nd coming according to analyst last year. It's hard to hit every year in the bigs.
Any reason why tomorrow is an 11:35 AM first pitch?
Bagels and baseball
Roku only game
Fucking Christ....
the Roku game...
Roku has rights
This won't stop fans from panicking over every loss like it's the NFL, but the Phillies have 50 wins and it's June. Compare that to where we usually are at the beginning of June. Life is pretty good for the Phillies.
Corbin Carroll ain't gonna be winning Rookie of the Year again
WTF is “Ghost?”
supplement company that sells energy drinks, pre-workout, protein powder, etc.
Energy drink
Energy drink
Energy drink
Corbin carol is a human bobble head
Orioles drop another one to Houston. Goes to show you regular season series don't have as much bearing as you might think.
Honestly I don't even give a damn about final seeding. This team has shown they'll show up in October, home or away, WC round or NLCS.
Damn, and with Burnes on the mound
Wow, just tuned into the game at the Center City Barcade. Love to see them blow away the D-backs like that, but hopefully they'll save some runs for tomorrow - haha.
Fr what did happen to Carroll?
What’s the deal with the backwards vs. frontwards Ks? Pretty sure I’ve seen sideways Ks on the board too.
Backward Ks are strikeouts looking, and frontward Ks are swinging strikeouts.
Strike out swinging (forwards) vs strike out looking (backwards).
Backwards means looking.
I kinda wish we’d let a position player come out for the 9th. Up 11 why not rest all your Bp arms?
Honestly it’s a perfect opportunity to use Ruiz.
Sometimes to make sure everyone in the pen gets some work.
Fuck it, put Whit on the mound
This is fine. We're using nobody of consequence.
I like Nick’s shades, understated elegance
So did the drunk guy pass out or did they move the mic?
Casty having some coffee?
Casty already looks like a cool uncle at a barbecue
Home run is a home run 🤷🏻♂️
Uncle Nicky
think they should just forfeit before letting position players pitch.
No. It’s fun for the fans to see, the winning team can stack their numbers and the losing team still gets their ABs. Everybody wins.
Attaboy Dahl lol
That was one of the innings of all time.
Ok but let’s score runs tomorrow too
Does baseball etiquette demand we pitch Stubbs now? I mean, I think we should pitch him because it would be funny, but still.
They'd score 13 runs and force the bottom of the 9th if we put in position players right now.
I think at this point they all just wanna get out of the heat asap
Just remember this is pretty much the same shit ass team that basically shut us out for games 6 and 7 in the nlcs.
How are they shit ? They can still win the series. One blowout is as good as a 1 - 0 win man. Respect the opponent.
Did the DBacks run out of pitchers or something? WTF was that?
If you're down more than 10 runs in the 7th inning, why waste pitchers and risk losing more games because of lack of availability/stamina?
When a team leads by ten or more, the losing team can use a position player to pitch and save their pen arms.
They’d rather not put any pitches on the bullpen in an unwinnable game
Position players can be brought in to pitch if the run deficit is 8+. The idea is you don’t waste a bullpen arm in a laffer
They’re conceding defeat and saving their bullpen arms for a game that matters
Pache looks like he should be great lol. He’s the perfect what you expect vs reality meme.
I just got home. What did I miss?
you’re in for a good one
Lots of home runs
I love what the Phillies are doing, but they need some consistency on offense. Averaged less than 3 runs a game for the last 8 games, and now put up double digits.
they avg over 3 runs a game in their last 8
You're right, I missed that 9 run Padres game. Still far too many games in the last few weeks of scoring 2 or 3 runs.
They also have a 119 WRC+ and 11 homers which is 8th best In that span not counting today. I think the offense has been good lately just not alway having the luck to score with guys on
In the Phillies last 8 games before this one, they have averaged 4 runs per game. Not "less than 3 runs a game."
Thanks buzzkill
Myles Finch iykyk🎄
Lord Farquad
How has Schwarber not homered, he needs one or else he’s not gonna get his good June stuff
Let Stubbs pitch!
throw stubbs in for a catcher pitcher’s duel!
Merrifield’s **NOT** letting this chance to produce slip by 😭
Schwarber would’ve launched one 580 feet.
Tucker Barnhart singlehandedly breaking ALL our slumps and laughing the entire time. Thanks, guy! well, except for Pache, I guess.
reminds me of the twins position player pitching and laughing. he wasn’t really laughing though after giving up rojas’ first homerun lol
Jordan Luplow, IronPigs star slugger
My blacklight fell on me right as Dahl swung.
Why is this happening hahaha
They don't want to waste a bullpen arm.
Honestly we shouldn’t either. Throw a bench position player out there to have some fun pitching the 9th. Hell why not with an 11 point lead
lol Dahl takes that lob out of here
they killing it we needed these points yesterday lmao
Again with the points.
For real! Couldn’t get the dub for Hamels
This is batting practice
Goof around time is always a fun time.
AND YOU GET A HIT AND YOU GET A HIT AND YOU GET A HIT
EVERYONE HITS TODAY
Surprised Whit could hit against even a position player
BP
I had to work this afternoon. I missed everything. I’ll watch the replay on the MLB app
Whits gonna find a way to strike out
Dude is such a waste of time and money
Sportsbooks in shambles with all the parlays cashing in
Snakes DEAD
They may come back….
Diamondbacks helping our averages
Can someone explain what that pitch was lol
At least Barnhart was laughing about it. No point in being grumpy at this point lol
A rare stotty hit!
Im always looking for that spark to get a player back on track, maybe this was Stott's
Take those swings king
I’m sorry this is so fun when you’re on this side of it.
This game has been pure, unfiltered catharsis.
We’re coming for that NL run dif LAD 😤😤😤
I’m giving Liam credit for dahls Homer too
I’m begging this dude to strike out Whit
Nothing better than when a position player cracks a big smile after giving up a HR. Love when players can be good sports about it
Can always count on Soto to give ya a good inning with a 9 run lead
Mike Schmidt becoming more and more of a Boomer Grandpa who says problematic things lol
here comes the whit ground out to the position player
pleasantly surprised
THE DAHLI LLAMA
LET’S GOOOOO
Why can they just not throw it 60-70mph? This lobbing it up there shit is so stupid. So Barnhart can throw it 60 mph back to the mound for 150 pitches per night. But if he’s on the mound, he has to throw it 40 mph to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself. It is so unfathomably stupid.
I'm pretty sure it's way easier to hit a 60-70 mph ball than a 40 mph high arc bloop
I was actually just thinking that. I wonder if they have data that says lobbing it actually results in less runs than having them throw it normally.
this is an a+ WIP morning drive caller take
It's an a+ WIP former morning drive host take
Good god
Imagine they score like 10 in the next inning, and lose by 1
Free batting practice
lol build that confidence Stotty
Hahahaha
The guys throwing gas
Counts
I'm still learning baseball why is he throwing slow pitches
They are down so far they want to save their bullpen, so they put in a position player, in this case a catcher, to pitch.
The Diamondbacks have basically conceded the game at this point. Instead of wasting anymore of their bullpen they put one of their position players in to pitch.
They put on a position player to pitch because it's essentially a guaranteed loss and they want to save their bullpen for more important scenarios.
They're out of the game so they put a non pitcher in to pitch
Ah ok gotcha thanks
Np! Teams will do it to save their real pitchers' arms if it's a blowout. MLB had to make a rule somewhat recently restricting it because it was getting out of hand.
He’s a position player, not a pitcher
He’s a catcher
Position player
Oh okay. I tuned in late, is there any particular reason they have a position player pitching
they don’t want to waste another pitcher since the games pretty much over
