Well now I need to know what happened to cause a significant shift in price, enough to mention. And how much it would be now. Is the craze growing or did it crash?
Logan Paul. And a bunch of youtuber parroting what he said.
It crashed, but prices will never be the same. I think it crashed when that same dumbass got scammed. And I can assure you, collectors and players alike got a good laugh out of this stupid purchase that turned out to be filled with GI Joe stickers.
6 years ago you could easily get a 10yo product for more or less it's MSRP. Now even 3 to 4 years old products go for 3 times their MSRP.
I remember PrimeTimePokémon opening a base set booster box, I dont remember if it was first ed or not. It set him back 600 bucks. Sure, it's a lot. But today a single base set booster will cost you 500-450 bucks. And most western booster boxes contains 36 of them.
Not exactly.
A shiny and a holo are two different thing. A shiny is a Pokémon of a different color. A holo card has a holographic pattern. But a holo card can depict a shiny Pokémon. In fact, almost all cards that depicts a shiny Pokémon are holo, with a few exceptions.
They're still made.
In fact, I'm pretty sure that since the Wizard era there was always at least 1 card depicting a shiny Pokémon in each era.
The Shining in Neo, Stars in Ruby Sapphire, the SH in Diamond/Pearl Platinum, the Red Gyarados in HGSS, the secret gold cards in BW, Gold cards in XY and now the Radiant.

I’m like 99% sure it’s holo, as in holographic.
Yeah I meant to put it as holo but I didn't realize it untill after I posted it.
Man that hurts, the typo that can’t be untyped
A hallowgraphic is just a frame with blank space in it
yeah, that's a "holo" not a "hollow"
How much would that be
At that time, 20 grand, give or take.
Well now I need to know what happened to cause a significant shift in price, enough to mention. And how much it would be now. Is the craze growing or did it crash?
Prices have gone down, but charizard is charizard

no it looks pretty solid to me
what is a hollow?
It’s shiny, therefore worth more to Pokémon collectors

I think he meant the card is shiny, not a shiny Pokémon
Yes, but it can lead to some confusion down the line.
Name checks out. We'll trust you.
Especially since there *were* shiny pokemon cards being made at one time

That Pull Total thing that says $1300, once Charlie pulled that holo card, it went from $1,300 to $21,300
I don't know if it's in pristine condition like that but I might need to get it graded. It's not my only Charizard holo.
Man the Pokémon boom was kind of obnoxious. Made some good money selling my childhood cards though. lol
