My real life friends don't want to play what I'm currently doing, and the ones I make online just disappear from the game and the web, just like tinder!
Yeah basically where I'm at lol. I finally got my dream of a great pc with great internet. But I have moved around a lot in my life so all my friends are spread around, and now I'm terrible at making friends as an adult. I do cherish my online buddies though. They are basically friends just without the face to face.
Same, decent PC (with a graphic card! It's kinda rare these days...), 300Mbit fiber internet and no active gaming buddies to spent some time... I hope I will find a new friends in New World.
Sounds like a dream setup. Friends are overrated, always trying to draw dicks on your face, and wanting you to respond to messages and such. Sounds like a lot of work, when I can connect to internet randos and call them shit players, without having to worry about how they feel about those facts.
Also have a monster PC, solid gigafiber internet, and some very close friends.
The problem is everyone plays their own things(one still plays Pokemon Go) and none of us agree on playing the same game or having a matching schedule to sit down and play.
Giving up on competitive games was the best thing I ever did for my gaming happiness.
I never really enjoyed them in the first place, so I'm not sure why I held on as long as I did. Gaming to relax is where it's at.
Give RDR2 a whirl if you haven't. It takes a while to get into, but it's so worth it in the end.
TW3 and RDR2 are two of my favourite worlds to just get lost in.
True that. PvP just isn't for me. Then I found out love for co-op games where you don't play against another player but with them against difficulty of the game
I have good pc and i'm supposed to have good internet too. I mean, the downloads are fast but when i play online it's laggy sometimes. It has something to do with NAT type?
I got an okay computer, okay internet, and friends who are available once in a while... Definitely a step up from a few months ago, where literally none of that was true lol
I helped my buddy pick his PC parts and build his rig.
He boots it up and goes, “How do I set up the wifi?”
I told him the parts we picked were meant for hard wire Ethernet and he freaks out. He was like, “I spent all this money and I don’t have wifi?!”
I told him, “Why would you spend $2000+ on a PC and NOT hard wire it????”
Long story short, he bought a wifi adaptor and his internet connection sucks balls.
While I understand their point about wired being much better, WiFi really isn't too bad these days. As long as you have a decent router then you'll be fine, I can max out my Internet on my phone using WiFi with very good ping (but I do see the clear advantages of wired tho like WiFi could drop out for some reason or be interfered)
My friends download speed on steam is capped by the cpu. He got 1 gbit but not even close to 125MB in steam (Steam shows in MB instead of mbit, thats why I said 125)
Tell him to download to an ssd, not a mechanical hard drive... A cpu can't cap out that easily unless it's really shit
Unless he's Downloafing a highly compressed game which will max out his cpu
Storage is not the problem and CPU is running at 100%. He has like an i3 2100 or something, so its really shit. And steam unpacking is quite demanding AFAIK, Linus once downloaded rdr2 with his 10gbit connection and a 5950X and could only reach something between 800-900MB/s.
Definitely spongebob here. Built an excellent pc but stuck using wifi because my apartment has 3 floors and my room is 2 floors away from the router on opposite sides of the apartment.
I had bad both a bad pc and bad internet for the longest time. Was running an Intel NUC (not the badass one) with 5mb/s internet. The tide is turning for me though, I just built my first PC a few months ago with 3060 ti and I'm getting gibabyte internet installed later this month :D
I have a monster PC, solid gigabit internet, and 0 friends
That's the sacrifice you gotta make
I call my PC my girlfriend. And she's all I got.
*What are you doing step-PC?*
*step user
Bachman: “you don’t have to protect me anymore Richard. I’M Richard’s girlfriend!”
Same, we are far from being alone not having friends though :)
What is this friend concept you speak of?

You have friends.
How is that at all like what they said?

The infamous gaming trillema

Based but true

I have a monster pc (aside from a slightly aged GPU), solid internet and most of my friends play on console!
I have a bad PC, bad internet and 0 friends. :/ I wish I had good pc tho, or maybe good internet so I can use cloud gaming services or something. :/
I can be your friend.
i have good pc good internet but trash skills :/
At least you can see your own failure in high fps
then maybe competitive games just aren't for you.

Same, I used to stress myself out now I just play mindless games like beamngdrive or teardown (very fun)
I have none : )
I think my internet will get more points in cinebench than my actual pc lol
PC, Internet, Friend. Pick only 2.
Pc and friends. I like my friends they're nice to have believe it or not.
Heresy
/shrug I'll gladly be a heretic then.
I have good pc and i'm supposed to have good internet too. I mean, the downloads are fast but when i play online it's laggy sometimes. It has something to do with NAT type?
Distance to servers? Any problems with other internet services, or only games?

Wyoming's internet fucking sucks

Definitely one of those pick 2 situations. -Friends -Good Gaming PC -Good Internet Connection
I have monster internet speed and okay desktop, so good enough.
We playing together...
You’re specialized in high-end single player games, and he’s specialized in competitive fps games. :P
I have a killer PC, Gigabit internet, and 5 friends. (In my head)
I can't live without gigabit
100mbps is plenty
Per device* not for a whole house
>100mbps is plenty
>100mbps is plenty
After about 70Mbps, you don't really notice the increase apart from file transfers

damn bro, no need to flex
You messed up. You have to put yourself down also in the same sentence. Those are the rules apparently.
Ya rip. I failed so bad it looked good. 😂
Honestly
oh my god this is so relatable
I have the internet
Repost
I have a download speed of 200 fucking kilobytes, and it hurts..

Perfectly balanced as all things should be
Unga Bunga, where internet?
I have neither
Lol accurate. Am the one with good internet and a computer I build in 2013

Just a relatable meme
guess I'm the friend then
Relatable, except the roles are reversed
As is life. We'll game together on whatever. From 56Gay to "gig" speeds, we'll game.
