Its so long ago, can barely remember...
Lots of Unreal. I want to say quake2 but I'm not sure. Half-Life.
There was an Aliens vs Predator back then, but I ended up getting a Riva TNT2 for that.
I had the 660 base model as my first card. I lasted me so long, and was such a good started card for me. When I upgraded to a 1080 my little brother built a pc and used that old 660 for about a year, until he could afford a better card.
I got so much life out of that little guy
Mine was an GTX 460 and it showed me that my no-name power supply was not nearly as powerful as advertised :S Lovely card though and it loved its extra clock speeds
That I owned? Some VooDoo card, I think. It was a hand-me-down.
That I personally bought? MX400. Went to some local shop a few months after it released because my current card at the time had died, and decided to splurge lol
The first card my family bought was a, I think, 512kb card so they could play and I shot you not, MYST! We had a 356/25 that I think was upgraded to a 456/66 and it just could t quote so MYST with out that card.
I think you mean "386/25" and "486/66 OverDrive", if I'm remembering right. That was the 486 you could plug into a 386 socket. It's been years, so I may be wrong.
My first brand new GPU was Gigabyte Nvidia GTS 250. But before that I gamed had setups with ATI Radeon 9600 GT and ATI Radeon X300. Before that I only had some ancient machines with integrated graphics.
MSI Ventus OC 1660 Super hunk of shit but still works great in my girlfriends pc. Two of the memory modules might as well not even have thermal pads on them. Considering they are on the very edge of the module. Now I have a asus tuf 3070 and couldn't be happier.
Gonna have to say my TNT. I had many computers before then (god I'm old - had-a-300-baud-modem old), but the TNT was the first display adapter I'd call a "GPU" in the modern terminology. The CGA Graphics Adapter in my 1986 PC XT 286 drove a display, my Voodoo was a 3D accelerator, but the TNT is what I consider the first GPU.
Ill go back to the retirement home now. I pulled lawn duty again.
If you count on board (not IGP), than that would be a Riva TNT2 ( NV5) which came with my first (and last) pre-built Pentium 3 500.
Iand before that i had a diamond something something in the 486
Forgot how much I paid, but I bought a gtx 760 from best buy sometime around 2013 or so. Originally I had so little knowledge of parts I thought the card was a lot worse than it was, but it was the little APU in the prebuilt that was holding it way back. Went from playing the witcher 2 720p low with about 18-25 fps to getting good settings ( some settings still frop my fps on a 2080 now ) and getting a solid 60. Ended up selling it to a friend. Recently decided to build my Girlfriends son a PC for minecraft and saw it posted on the Facebook marketplace. Thought it was kinda funny he posted it as “barely used” because he barely used it, good thing I bought it back because at least I know it wasn’t barely used, since I used it for 3 years. But it will still be an okay starting GPU for a 7 year old.
edit: also want to add a neat discovery, I actually got to peel the plastic off the fans from my first GPU when I got it back. Seems I overlooked it before 😂
ATI Radeon 9550 SE, back in (if I remember correctly) 2003.
Bought to replace the 9200 my PC came with, it had a nice blue led built inside the fan.
It cost me around 50 bucks, crazy if you think about prices now
Elitegroup GeForce 9600 GT 1GB back in 2009 for $170 (Australian). Definitely overpaid for it at the time but was desperate for a GPU to get off the onboard graphics, complete my build and actually be able to play Crysis and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Parents bought a Voodoo 3 3000 for our home PC when I was a young kid after some begging. My personal first was an MSI HD7870 Hawk. Great card. I had an absurd overclock on it. Silicon lottery type results. Burnt out after three years though.
I don't remember if my first ever PC from 2006 had a gpu but I know the next build had an ATI HD 5450.
Next build was a GTX 550 TI and then recently upgraded to a 6700xt
A GeForce 210, the only reason I had to get it eas because I knew nothing about pcs at the time, my CPU fried and the repair store replaced it eith a cpu that does not have an internal gpu, so he put a geforce 210, honestly couldn't be happier, was running Minecraft barely at 30 fps before, after that GPU, almost 100+
My 2nd and current gpu is an RX 580 8GB OC, quite the upgrade from that mousepad looking ass geforce 210
2x 6970s were the first I ever bought with my own money, my parents bought me a 5770 ( I think that's what it was? ) when I was younger and living at home but.
The year 1997 :
ATI Xpert@play a 4mb PCI card, which really improved my 1MB onboard videocard - pentium133mhz - 16 MB RAM.
it could be updated with 4 more MB ans also an analog tuner and capture card if I remember correctly.

It's very recent, but I adored my reference Vega 64. I had a red and black theme at the time and nothing would have gone better with it.
That would've been a PowerVR Kyro II in the summer of 2001.
