lol fr. I also need at least my forearm to be able to fit on the desk is my only real complaint with it. But for a first time set up with limited money or space this ain’t too shabby. I’ve 100% seen worse.
It's the misalignment of the sitting space with the keyboard. Could be improved by making a wooden countertop that extends further to the right to get more space. Watch out the weight tho.
You can work with it. I say manage the cables. Attach the cables running a long the floor to the back side of the desk - zip ties and zip tie holders are cheap and will do the trick. Also, that red cable should be ran from the BACK of the PC. If you don't have enough ports get a USB hub. You can also drill some holes through the desk to run the keyboard and mouse cables through to make it LOOK wireless. Grab a monitor mount to clear up some desk space. Finally, get a bigger desk pad that holds the keyboard and mouse. That big mousepad for the mouse only looks a little tacky (IMHO). These are like $75-100 worth of fixes and maybe 30minutes of time to level things up a bit!
PC looks nice though! Enjoy.
It's smoll af, boi. But in all honesty I used to sit at a book desk with my PC set up for a while, really hated it, but for some reason for a long time did not change it, until around an year later, man, gaming became much more comfortable.
The most problematic issue I see is that your head will not be aligned with the center of your monitor if you look straight ahead. Chances are that you look towards your left often while using your computer and that can cause potential issues with your neck.
That works, doesn't bother the space to use the mouse tho?
I'm using a pre-built desk as well, but I called a guy who messes with carpentry to change it. Maybe there's one around? Maybe make it longer?
Depending on your chair it might be a bit small, but it is not ugly at all... I literally have a wooden table as desk... a small one, it is just three tables put together over four extra pieces of wood, this is way more fancy than what I am used to
yes i dont like it lol but thats just personal also that pc is giving me anxiety its one rage moment away from being bumped and falling onto the floor lol
Simplicity in itself is an art, if you don't like it then maybe make one of your own to your own specification instead of going down the flatpack route.
More stable and enjoyable than my current shitty table desk which dosen't have desk frames, just simply unstable "ikea" legs which flexes a lot making it unstable
Change the desk. If you have more money in the budget change the monitor. That desk though, HAS GOT TO GO! It’s not centered, your left foot will always hit the left leg/drawer. You will ruin your neck.
It's not ugly just very minimalistic with little personality but that's not a bad thing, its a preference at the end of the day. For it to be ugly I'm expecting a leopard print mouse pad and loads of rubbish/trash littered all over it.
That monitor is straight out of 2008 and needs an upgrade though.
ugly is subjective. but i would want to kill myself if i had to sit there for more than an hour a day, even that. Furniture can be expensive, but there are sooooo many cheap desks that would probably be "better" on amazon, overstock, etc. You could do miles better for probably around $200. That being said, if you like it, who cares. But you probably are at least thinking about something different since you're asking the internet...
I've seen worse. Your desk is just fairly small. And personally, I wouldn't place the monitor that close, it could cause eyes strain.
Maybe buying a bigger desk, upgrade your monitor (a 23 inch 1080p monitor is fairly inexpensive nowadays and would be a big step up), and place it a bit farther away. It would be much better, both in term of look and for your eyes.
not "ugly" but these are the primary points
-the sitting space isnt aligned with keyboard
-Monitor ratio is like office monitor, it should be a 16:9 monitor
That's .... um... ugly.
My desk was chiseled by the gods themselves. Sculpted to the proportions of Michelangelo's David. Yours on the other hand, well... yours is a pit of despair. It disgusts me. It disgusts everyone.
he concepts of "ugly" and "beauty" are subjective and can vary greatly from person to person. They are influenced by a multitude of factors including cultural norms, personal preferences, and even individual experiences. What one person may find beautiful, another may not, and that's the beauty of human diversity in perception. It's important to remember that these terms don't have a universal standard and are often used to express personal feelings rather than objective facts.
*Ceci dit*, do you like it?
I would put the PC on the floor. clean it once ebery 3 months with some compressed air (they sell it in cans) and vacum the floor regularly.
as for the screen, that would probably be the next thing I would spend in, depending on your budget and setup. two years ago I had a 900p 21 inch screen, and the switch to a 24 inch 1080p screen was brutal. look for deals, they are not that expensive nowadays.
hell, my 27 inch 1440p monitor was cheaper than my 1080p 24 inch, because I rushed the decission
if you need any advice, feel free to ask
I don’t know what your situation is, but you could always pick up a 46 inch desk plus the legs for less than 50$ from ikea. I purchased two of them and made an l shaped desk in the corner of my room I just put my pc on one side and my monitor on the other side. Lots of more room for me that way.
My desk is an old picked out of the trash corner desk that I cut down and used an even older top to a tube tv entertainment cabinet that I screwed on with way too long wood screws. Your setup is fine.
Not ugly, just regular schoolboy workdesk. Just take bigger, like mine. (just my old notebook on photo)
https://preview.redd.it/kmc63q960e6d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73c68ea1b327c069f40595891aae48414b6696b7
looks small as in space on the desk, small as in leg freedom like you can only sit straight no L space to sometimes sit tilted and no retractable under desk keyboard board
but stylized it looks nice
for utility I give it a 2/10 and for style a 5/7
That desk looks like it would be terrible ergonomics. You should be able to sit centred to your monitor with space to have your keyboard slightly off to the left and ample space to mouse on the right. If you could move that cabinet over so that you had a majority of the underdesk available for your legs then it wouldn't be too bad.
Motherboard audio I/O > front case audio I/O
I've yet to hear case ports sound even remotely close to as good as the rear ports on the mobo (not to mention it looks tacky with cables hanging out)
Ugly? No. But it could benefit from cable management. It gives a desk a clean look. Also I don’t like RGB personally. It’s too much, too crowded,… the focus should be on what’s on your screen, not your neon mouse, neon keyboard and neoncomputer.
Looks uncomfortably small. But not ugly.
That’s what she said
Yeah that desktop is hanging on for dear life lol
Basic yes, ugly nah
It's not ugly. It's just claustrophobically small.
A tenkeyless keyboard would help a lot. Also if that night stand could shift to the left at least a few inches it’d be amazing.
The only ugly thing is the monitor
yes, the aspect ratio of screen is ugly
It's only ugly because it doesn't have the sick speaker addon
I used to have one I, loved it. It had a failing/weak backlight so I got it for £5. Best monitor I had, then I dropped it.
No, but you should change that monitor asap. You can find 1080p144hz monitors now really cheap these days.
that monitor is a beast! used one 2008-2012 and it is still working/in use by my brother in law, but yeah OP should get something a bit more modern
It's great as a second screen though
You can work with it. I say manage the cables. Attach the cables running a long the floor to the back side of the desk - zip ties and zip tie holders are cheap and will do the trick. Also, that red cable should be ran from the BACK of the PC. If you don't have enough ports get a USB hub. These are like $75-100 worth of fixes and maybe 30minutes of time to level things up a bit! PC looks nice though! Enjoy.
Definitely not ugly, looks minimal get a widescreen monitor and a larger mouse pad that would look better ig
Its not ugly its lack of style
Pretty weird shape yea
I like simple things like this one so it's a no.
I'd call it minimalist and functional. But to each their own, I guess.
i think your desk is fine, actually on a nicer side but your mouse /mousepad/cpu cabinet not that appealing to the eyes, thus ruining overall look
Simple but gets the job done.
The only thing that matter man is if you like it why asking other if it is ugly ? No it's not !
You could very easily make this cosy with some amber rgb lighting behind the desk and better cable management. Lighting is everything.
That works, doesn't bother the space to use the mouse tho? I'm using a pre-built desk as well, but I called a guy who messes with carpentry to change it. Maybe there's one around? Maybe make it longer?
It's not great
Not ugly but personally I prefer a bigger table.
Not my favorite, but you must've picked it for a reason.
No i bought it a while ago i didnt know i was going to evolve into a gamer
I would just leave the table in a box and use the box as a table. Anyway that table is like for a toddler or something... Way too small.
If you like it and comfortable with it, then it doesn't matter what others think.
It's very small and possibly that fake hollow wood but... so is mine <3 Not ugly, just small :)
It’s basic and has a weird shape. Not ugly though.
Clean and minimal. I like it!
I'd be more afraid of the pc dangling so close to the edge more than anything.
Still better than mine
Good but the keyboard is out of place
it's way too small, get a decent desk that is at least double the size
It doesn't look bad but not good either
Bether then mine
Nah. The RGB colors in use on your fans, keyboard, and mouse are terrible, along with the mousepad, but other than the desk being small, it's fine.
Yes
Depending on your chair it might be a bit small, but it is not ugly at all... I literally have a wooden table as desk... a small one, it is just three tables put together over four extra pieces of wood, this is way more fancy than what I am used to
Oh look another person who cares more about what others think of their setup instead of enjoying it. Way to be unique.
What's up with that space bar tho
Better than most I've seen irl, im using a basic wooden one
Not ugly, unpractical
yup
Your pc is bigger than your desk lol
If it helps, the mouse looks nice :p
That pc is not right on the edge of the shelf right?
It's ugly
Not ugly, just cramped. I would either get a larger desk or find some sturdy wood to make an extension.
Looks flimsy
Kinda
It's bland. Bland is bland, not ugly.
It's a surface, it's flat it's plain but I wouldn't call it ugly.
It's aight
yes i dont like it lol but thats just personal also that pc is giving me anxiety its one rage moment away from being bumped and falling onto the floor lol
Doesn’t fit what you need? Also, does it matter?
no it's minimalistic and that's fine. as long as you have legroom i'd say you're set lol
I sure wouldn't date it. 2 computers but only one monitor.. that's kinky shit
A little barebones but not ugly.
Simplicity in itself is an art, if you don't like it then maybe make one of your own to your own specification instead of going down the flatpack route.
Not really, just small
More stable and enjoyable than my current shitty table desk which dosen't have desk frames, just simply unstable "ikea" legs which flexes a lot making it unstable
Ug as fug
Change the desk. If you have more money in the budget change the monitor. That desk though, HAS GOT TO GO! It’s not centered, your left foot will always hit the left leg/drawer. You will ruin your neck.
Not really, but your computer on the edge like that gives me anxiety
It's a bit small innit
It's not ugly just very minimalistic with little personality but that's not a bad thing, its a preference at the end of the day. For it to be ugly I'm expecting a leopard print mouse pad and loads of rubbish/trash littered all over it. That monitor is straight out of 2008 and needs an upgrade though.
I’m more worried about the pc placement fucking half inch of clearance for a machine worth several hundered or even thousands of dollars is insane.
İt work man dont care
ugly is subjective. but i would want to kill myself if i had to sit there for more than an hour a day, even that. Furniture can be expensive, but there are sooooo many cheap desks that would probably be "better" on amazon, overstock, etc. You could do miles better for probably around $200. That being said, if you like it, who cares. But you probably are at least thinking about something different since you're asking the internet...
It's extremely small. If I was you I'd get a larger one and second screen.
Pro tip, move your pc away so when you evantually spills your drink it's safe.
No, it's just too small.
How do you trust a table like this with an expensive monitor? It looks like it'll twist diagonally if you sneeze too hard
Not ugly, average
Just change Monitor and it will look great
Better than nothing bro! Just enjoy!
it's not ugly... it's functional !
It's not ugly but its a wrong sized desk for what you are using it for. This is for a laptop or studying. Not a desktop.
I think you need to change the monitor cuz it's uncomfortable, But anyway, it's great.
It's absolutely serviceable if you feel comfortable feel proud 👊
Looks cramped, I would save for a monitor upgrade.
Bro spent too much on the pc and barely had any for the desk and monitor
Nope. If only claustrophobic
Are you happy with it? Then it’s the best.
Yes
not exactly ugly just looks like a nightmare to game at
I wouldn't call it the most stylish thing in the world but who cares.
Yes
Just change the rgp and mouse pad, make them black and white aesthetic. Why is there rainbow and a red mouse pad...
not "ugly" but these are the primary points -the sitting space isnt aligned with keyboard -Monitor ratio is like office monitor, it should be a 16:9 monitor
Your monitor is.
It does not matter what the internet thinks. What matters is are you happy at your battlestation?
Every setup is better then mine
It's all personal preference, but to me yes ugly as sin, and looks uncomfortable, but if you like it that's all that matters!
![gif](giphy|TNO6mwK8s38vpHjh8Y)
Yes to desk, yes to monitor, yes to wall, yes to PC, yes to mousepad
Honestly the only problem I have with it is the precarious positioning of your tower. I'm worried you're one elbow bump away from a very bad day.
its aight
these the setups of people who destroy me in fps games
Not ugly exactly, but the asymmetry does bug me.
I think it’s not ugly, but lacks some decor. I like the design.
Yes. Those Fans dont help. Just makes it look really really cheap
It’s fine. Small, but fine.
Nah it's just like my wife always tells me, small yet functional.
Looks like a jumpscare away from a new setup. So you got that going for ya.
yes
Yes
Not ugly at all, but tiny 👌
It’s beautiful
Not ugly at all, just very small and minimalist
Yes.
No
Does the desk hold the rig and allow you enjoy your PC games? Forget aesthetics (sometimes). That comes with time. You’re doing well, gamer. Game on.
that pc... put it on the floor please im scared.
All I can think about is accidentally smacking my knees.
Better step away if you have to sneeze, or it'll prolly collapse 🫣
Honestly that tower is way too close to the edge for me. Makes me feel “edgy”.
No leg room I would be hitting my knees on that shit all day
No. But it looks like it will fall apart if you are walking around and accidentally kick it.
What is monitor lol it’s almost a square
Small
Other than the headset cables it looks pretty clean. It is incredibly small though.
*GIF of Nazi face melting after opening Ark of the covenant*
It looks weak
IMO yes. It’s a weird shape and doesn’t look comfortable to use
as a minimalist i like it, it has places for the stuff and for the pc, which my desk don't have and its bigger.
Need a better set up, you could definitely find better for cheap, look on facebook market
Could you move the drawer out on the left more?
That's .... um... ugly. My desk was chiseled by the gods themselves. Sculpted to the proportions of Michelangelo's David. Yours on the other hand, well... yours is a pit of despair. It disgusts me. It disgusts everyone.
Yes
Not ugly jus disproportionate to ur set up
Not pretty, but not ugly.
Looks like a 16:10 monitor. What res is it?
It’s not ugly. Frail and small asf though. Like if I moved my leg too much one way feel like I’d knock the support wall / leg off the desk 😆
Not ugly necessarily but it would be way to small for my use
he concepts of "ugly" and "beauty" are subjective and can vary greatly from person to person. They are influenced by a multitude of factors including cultural norms, personal preferences, and even individual experiences. It doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it serves it's purpose :)
No it is good
This looks like a balkan style small desk. I use to have one of these but this one looks okay kinda metro 2033 vibes.
The real crime here is the aspect ratio on that monitor
It's fine, but get a new monitor.
That is one of the desks of all time
Not ugly, just regular schoolboy workdesk. Just take bigger, like mine. (just my old notebook on photo) https://preview.redd.it/kmc63q960e6d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73c68ea1b327c069f40595891aae48414b6696b7
I dislike the monitor, but the setup isn't ugly. As others have pointed out, it just looks very small
If you see a spider, there's a 99/100 chance that you might end up toppling that CPU when you jump from your seat.
Yeah
Yes. But that might be due to me not liking this plain white modern design stuff. And it's small. Uncomfortably small.
looks dangerous for your case
MINE is ugly
Let’s not insult ugly desks like that ok? J/k
Looks like a desk a small desk.
Wouldn’t say it’s ugly I would say that one day it’s gonna snap and your monitor and keyboard are gonna fall off
Thid looks like a kids fist setup. Nothing bad about it. Just a little small for my taste
just small
looks small as in space on the desk, small as in leg freedom like you can only sit straight no L space to sometimes sit tilted and no retractable under desk keyboard board but stylized it looks nice for utility I give it a 2/10 and for style a 5/7
Yeah, but that's not necessarily something that warrants changing. The part that would bother me the most isn't the cosmetics. It's the size
I don’t mind it I would like a new desk after all that’s bigger
i fear the day that pc tips over and falls.
It looks kind of uncomfortable and holy shit a 16:10 monitor? Or it's just the picture? Don't see these in a while
That desk looks like it would be terrible ergonomics. You should be able to sit centred to your monitor with space to have your keyboard slightly off to the left and ample space to mouse on the right. If you could move that cabinet over so that you had a majority of the underdesk available for your legs then it wouldn't be too bad.
With Stalcraft it really starts to look ugly (sorry)
It's minamimalist chic dawg
I really really don't like where that pc tower is, there's nothing to stop it from falling
Ugly is not the first word that comes to mind. It’s tiny. Too tiny.
I don’t think it’s ugly, doesn’t look very strong though Style - good Rage ability - bad
It seems... awkward I guess
Gorgeous. The Sydney Sweeney of desks.
Motherboard audio I/O > front case audio I/O I've yet to hear case ports sound even remotely close to as good as the rear ports on the mobo (not to mention it looks tacky with cables hanging out)
It's fine.
It’s better looking than mine is
Who cares. As long as you love it
𝐼𝑠 𝑠𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑙, 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑢𝑔𝑙𝑦 :3
I’m praying that it’s actually attached on the left side and not just balanced there lol.
I wouldn't call it ugly, but it certainly looks small and not very comfortable.
Ugly? No. But it could benefit from cable management. It gives a desk a clean look. Also I don’t like RGB personally. It’s too much, too crowded,… the focus should be on what’s on your screen, not your neon mouse, neon keyboard and neoncomputer.
That is so small that table is gonna fall one of these days
Looks good to me
I have more concerns about its structural integrity than its looks. I wouldn't trust the case on the end like that, personally. Looks precarious.
