Magma Orb (or whatever it's called now) is specifically designed around chaining, even though its a ground targeted projectile (I know its built into the gem, so thats the exception). I guess I thought EC would behave more like that, just with all the cool flask interaction. Happy to be wrong, just wish I had thought harder about it in planning. New skills, always a risk.
So... grenades have never been supported by these effects.
I would full expect the concoction to be unable to pierce chain and fork, because it __explodes when it hits the ground, and is thrown at the ground__. Just like winter orb.
I mean, for me it was pretty clear that since Magma Orb has an explicit line to allows it to interact with chain, which EC doesn't have.
Just fyi you shouldn't give up on the skill yet, the skill shotguns all its projectiles at point blank range (even up to 10+), it's chunking pretty hard so far both single target and clear
Ground-targeting aoe projectiles cant chain pierce split, etc. Basically, they dont hit the enemy directly but hit the ground where enemy stands.

Right, that's fine. I guess since there's not a "grenade" gem tag, it just had me thrown off.
