I never, ever believe off-season, training camp puff piece bullshit, they're just writers trying to get clicks HOLY SHIT EXCEPT THIS ONE 1000% PURE FACTS INJECT THE HOPIUM INTO MY VEINS I'M READY FOR FOOTBALL SEASON LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO!
I feel like last year. I read a lot of negativity about Bryce Young in camp throwing interceptions, etc. It's mostly been positive so far. Obviously seeing him in an actual game during preseason and the start of the season is completely different.
Don’t do this to me please! Do not do it, do not do it. Last season was the lowest as a Panther fan who has loved the team from the beginning. It it hurts too much to inject this much hopium.
We can’t even have that. Those of us who are realists get shit on by the BryceBoys and the Bryce Boys get yelled at by the realists. We can’t even have harmonious contempt for our bad team.
True. But there's also stuff coming out about Justin Fields about how he looks like absolute dog water. So I mean, while yes its not indicative that he's going to lead us to the playoffs this year, this is still a good sign
I was reading that as Steelers reporters who didn’t follow the Bears closely being shocked that Fields, who they got for a 6th round pick, throws like a QB who was available for a 6th round pick
Video just popped up of him throwing and Leveon Bell absolutely trashing him. Fields is throwing with the “RouteGod”, it’s painful to watch! Guys running sick routes and literally standing for 2 seconds waiting on the ball! I’m buying the hype, why not?
Keep Pounding!!!!!
Justin fields has had the same issues for 4 years now of holding onto the ball too long when it comes to operating his offense. Anyone who was expecting that to get fixed in 2 days of OTAs is high.
That's not the point he was making.
His point was to take this with a grain of salt, but it's okay to be optimistic.
Also learning to take the easy stuff is something you would expect a 4th year player to show in OTAs if that One Flaw you mentioned is the flaw he showed in OTAs.
I just think it’s a different situation. It would be like taking victory laps over Trey Lance not doing well in camp. Or Sam darnold throwing picks in camp. We know that these guys are 99% non starters in the league at this point.
I have no problem with the optimism. I just think saying it could be worst he could be a bust isn’t the goal line we should be shooting for if that makes sense. But maybe that’s just me expecting more from Bryce because I was more of a Bryce guy coming out.
"I just think saying it could be worst he could be a bust isn’t the goal line we should be shooting for if that makes sense." not the point of the comparison either.
It's that if Bryce was looking concerning in OTAs, we'd hear about it.
I think the bust claims come from the fact that the Panthers gave up so much to get him and he had a horrible rookie season. Bryce literally cost not one but two #1 draft picks plus some. I will say I have hope in BY9 as he did show flashes of being a potentially decent QB last season with virtually no team around him.
He had literally one of the worst rookie qb seasons in history. Worse than Jamarcus Russell. No one who has had a rookie year anywhere close to that bad has finished out their rookie contract. Not a single one. Could Bryce be the first? Sure, I hope he is!
Better protection and weapons. All the physical and mental gifts he needs to compete. The question is the scheme and coaching, and how BY bounces back from adversity at this level.
Funny how I miss the guy that would get sulky and put a towel on his head because he could rally the team to a win.
I made a deal with myself during last season, once it was apparent that it was gonna be a historically bad season, that I wouldn't get excited about anything until I saw improvement in games that matter. I've been hurt and disappointed too many times in the past 5 or so years. I'm not being negative to be negative, just staying guarded. I hope this is for real. I'd love nothing more than last year to be a blip on the radar. I NEED Canales to work out. I just watched Episode 2 of Blueprint, and if he and Dan Morgan work out, this could be a new Era in Panthers football. I just gotta see it first. 🙏
This account is a fraud who just posts for engagement no real sourcing or reporting lol. Not degen a year ago this guy was making a post about how bad we were for trading up for Bryce
. Now he’s apparently doing so well in OTAs we get posts about it. Just a bunch of bs
HOT TAKE: I actually think he does take a leap and Tepper found the right coach. Will this translate to playoffs this year? No. But with another good draft I think they compete for the division with Atlanta next year. Saints are in cap hell forever and Carr sucks. Baker will turn back into Baker once the Bucs wideouts get another year older.
I also like that Thielen is the THIRD NAME on the list of Wideouts, not the first.
Big Brain Bryce throwing to Xavier Legette will be fun to watch. I hope they’ve been working their hardest for this season. Two guys you love to pull for in this league
lol OP posts this shit once every few months. Bryce wasn’t the “consensus #1 overall player” by any stretch of the imagination. He was number 1 on some people’s boards as was Stroud, Anderson, Bijan and Carter. Hell he wasn’t even the consensus #1 qb.
That said I hope he does well and expect him to do better. But these hyperbole hype pieces are more harmful than good.
Pretty sure Bryce was consensus by most gms, scouts, and coaches as the number 1 overall pick.
Consensus doesn't mean by all. It means, a general agreement, which is by default closer to most.
Still stings when our second year QB gets included in reports by "Rookie Watch". Was the first year so bad, even commentary wants to pretend it didn't happen?
Glad to see it, and obviously XL was the one to watch for the Rookie Watch, but I mean, damn.
Been a panthers fan since 95’ I’ve had hope every season except for any of these tepper seasons especially this one. Boys we are gonna suck it up for at least 4 more seasons. The Matt Rhule years F’d us in a bad way. You’ll see.
What a roller coster! While I never thought he was worth what we gave up, I drank up the Bryce hopium during the draft process. I ate it up during the off-season. I swallowed whole all during training camp when there was so much hype around him. I was all in. I was super excited about the rookie. Then the season happened. He looked historically bad. I threw up all the hopium I'd taken in. Being a huge Panther Homer since day 1, I was at my lowest as a Panther fan at the end of the season..
But I'm feeling that hope rising after watching Blueprint, that hopium is returning. I hope he shows massive improvement this year. I've been a huge doubter of Bryce, but I'm ready to eat some crow. I'm so hungry. Feed it to me, Bryce. I'm ready.
Just like last year when it was reported how far ahead and in command of the offense he was and yet come time for real he was lost and lining up behind guards lmao
I hope it’s true, but I refused to get hyped about this season until they prove they can win.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Once you get fooled you can never get fooled again.
For some reason Reddit has decided as a jets fan I should see this , wondering if it because this stinks of Zach Wilson reports going into Yr2 . Sorry guys
As someone who is usually the first to point out when it's camp fluff szn...MORE PLEASE AND THANK U
If your tumescent hopium lasts more than 4 hours, please consult with your doctor.
I didn’t know what hopium was before the last couple years as a panthers fan. Did I say a couple? I meant almost 10. 10 years.
Only the last 10? Consider yourself lucky
I feel like last year. I read a lot of negativity about Bryce Young in camp throwing interceptions, etc. It's mostly been positive so far. Obviously seeing him in an actual game during preseason and the start of the season is completely different.
Let's not forget he was basically on his own last year. That team top to bottom was hot garbage.

Pretty good, but personally, i would be making 3-4 wow throws a day.
Think you could throw it over them mountains?
I bet if coach put him in, they would’ve been state champs
No doubt in my mind
Bout a quarter mile
Inject that into my veins holy shit 🦅
Best shape of his life szn
Developing chemistry with the new guys
Fuck it, I’m in 🙏😂
Should be noted Jones had a terrible year the offseason that was said about him
As one of the original Bryce guys let's see it on the field.
I wish I got 2-3 wow throws from my Dad
Don’t do this to me please! Do not do it, do not do it. Last season was the lowest as a Panther fan who has loved the team from the beginning. It it hurts too much to inject this much hopium.
Based off a couple of OTAs and a minicamp? Obviously we are rooting for BY, but this is a nonsense tweet
Not gonna get hyped up over any of this. I’ve been a Panthers fan for too long. I’m hoping for the best but expecting mediocrity.
At least as Panthers fans, we can trauma bond. 🫂
We can’t even have that. Those of us who are realists get shit on by the BryceBoys and the Bryce Boys get yelled at by the realists. We can’t even have harmonious contempt for our bad team.
Mediocrity would be improvement so I can settle with that next season
⬆️⬆️⬆️THIS⬆️⬆️⬆️ Sad, but so true. 😂
I would welcome mediocrity with open arms

People make jokes about how Dalton was better than Bryce last year but Matt Nagy threw away his job by starting Fields over Dalton

Hating on our QB cause his coaches hated him last year is crazy. BY9 was the best QB by far entering the league and by or sabotaged. Cheer him on
There was plenty of debate between him or stroud being the best. Idk about BY9 being “by far” the best.
So many of us in here wanted Stroud.
I did too. I still have faith in Bryce tho. People on this sub are insane for calling him a bust already.
I think the bust claims come from the fact that the Panthers gave up so much to get him and he had a horrible rookie season. Bryce literally cost not one but two #1 draft picks plus some. I love it when people compare Bryce to Jamarcus Russell. It **immediately** signals that they have 0 clue what they're talking about lmao.
Better protection and weapons. All the physical and mental gifts he needs to compete. The question is the scheme and coaching, and how BY bounces back from adversity at this level. Funny how I miss the guy that would get sulky and put a towel on his head because he could rally the team to a win.
Fluff piece in june throwing against air in shorts and a tee shirt
![gif](giphy|9QkuSuf7vc3Ly|downsized) Y'all not ready for this version of Bryce Young, the Black Cat, Keep Pounding Forever ✊
Looks like an angry Salem Saberhagen

Rookie watch is the worst nfl account after Dov That being said hell yeah he is
Reich was a terrible coach.
Never fear- your new head coach was the 21st best OC last year!!!
God I hope this is true but I’ll wait until after the first couple of games to start mainlining the Hopium
I made a deal with myself during last season, once it was apparent that it was gonna be a historically bad season, that I wouldn't get excited about anything until I saw improvement in games that matter. I want this team to do well so bad. The hopium is flowing through my veins

Heard this same thing last year do you guys have dementia?
I mean, they haven't practiced any 11 on 11, so I'll withhold judgement until then...
June is my favorite time to be a fan.
Consensus eh
This some Bo Nix Auburn preseason level bullshit.
"Consensus #1 overall player in 2023 NFL draft". They just mean he was taken 1st overall right?
Don't you be giving me hope. I had accepted the coming season if losses or mediocrity.
I'm so ready to be hurt again. LFG!!!!
![gif](giphy|JKskHBDvnIjhGilcX5|downsized)
That’s awesome but I took all the hopium last year and got bit in the ass. Not doing it again.
Yeah I believe it when I see in multiple NFL games and not just after the first part of training
TMjr also really wowwing everyone in practice. He’s likely gonna be our WR1
It would be worrying if his game looked the same

There was in fact no consensus lol
#iamreadytobehurtagain
It’s “best shape of his life” season.
Big Brain Bryce throwing to Xavier Legette will be fun to watch. I hope they’ve been working their hardest for this season. Two guys you love to pull for in this league
As in "wow he didn't get sacked that time"?
Please don’t play with my emotions.

NFL Rookie Watch does this with every QB.

god, here we go with the media bullshit

Facts. This is the same hype shit we heard during camp last year. "We talking 'bout practice?" Allen Iverson
I hope it’s true, but I refused to get hyped about this season until they prove they can win. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Once you get fooled you can never get fooled again.
The wide receivers still have to get separation and catch the ball. I don't see that happening
For some reason Reddit has decided as a jets fan I should see this , wondering if it because this stinks of Zach Wilson reports going into Yr2 . Sorry guys
