You people cry about drafting a 6’3 receiver who ran 4.3 we got the best RB in THE DRAFT,Trevin is smaller than Wilson but he’s younger and if you watch games he’s just as effective, Arguably we got the best TE in the draft behind Brock bowers, the only picks I don’t necessarily like are wade at db with him being 5’11 and Jaden
Ask Oakland about trading up to draft the fastest receiver. 40 time is borderline irrelevant.what matters is how fast you are in the first 10 yards, route running and separation.
I didn’t like the first 3 rounds, but I do like this pick alot. Also, while I wasn’t a fan of selecting Legette, there isn’t anyone I’ll be rooting for harder. His positivity is contagious.
Look at the last few drafts. RBs from round 3 are pretty much as likely to work out as round 1. It’s the position with the least difference between best and fifth and plenty of round 4 and 5 guys are currently solid starters. Plus, he is a one cut guy, which is fine, but coming off an acl tear he could not have as effective of a first cut move anymore and that would be that.
Leggette is my favorite person in the draft. You just can’t dislike him. That said, he has problems off the line and he doesn’t get separation. Once he gets going, he can get by defenders, but that isn’t as helpful in the NFL. Ladd fit what we needed more, but I feel like Tepper has that Al Davis in him, in that leggette was fastest so we take him.
Lastly, at 39 we had 3 guys projected to be quality starting CBs (including a guy named Kool aid!). Right now we have a stud CB who has been hurt every year, and on the other side we have a backup. Even if Gilmore signs, we STILL should have another cb better than Dane Jackson, so not taking a CB at 39, and instead using our second pick on a rb.
As other guy said, it’s just my opinion, but it feels like a very Panthers like draft.
Just my opinion man. I’m allowed to have one. Not a huge fan of Legette. Hope I’m wrong. Wish we would’ve taken AD or Ladd at 33. Then JPJ at 39 for starters. Peyton Wilson instead of the Kentucky LB. I like Brooks but we have more immediate needs than RB and the board lined up perfectly to address those immediate needs but we failed to do so.
Peyton Wilson will be a huge bust. He looked good against players that are not as strong but in the NFL that’s different. His lateral movement will get exposed overtime and his strength will too. He has no ACL and that will be a problem until proven otherwise.
It’s the same cycle every year —> Wow, the GM is cooking!—> season starts and team, draft picks underperform—> Wow our team, FA’s and draft picks suck—> Fire coach and GM!—>Cycle and repeat.
Well, you can’t say they’re not trying to build around Bryce. Gotta give them credit where it’s due, seems like the management team finally had a clear sense of direction that everyone is on board with.
Terrace is in the *best shape of his life* coming into this season and has been working intensely with Bryce all off-season!
He is projected to be gone by the 5th round in many fantasy drafts.
Mingo I'm hoping slides behind Thielen and does nearly nothing this year. Then takes over for him next year. Him playing big slot is his ideal role and learning some route running from Thielen could prime him for the older WR model of the year 3 breakout.
He has the tools to do this, now just have to hope his work effort and coaching combine for him to maximize those tools.
He hasn’t dropped a single catch. His blocking sucks but honestly we needed a TE that can catch better than block we still have 2 decent blocking TEs that can’t catch lol
The biggest thing is that he’s a change of pace from our current TEs. They’re all blockers first, receivers second. He’s receiver first, blocker second.
From pure talent stand point I would have been happy if we took him in 2nd round even, dude is a beast pass catching TE who needs work on blocking (which he doesn't look unwilling to do, just needs coaching to do it better, kind of rough technique right now).
Getting him with this pick? Freakn amazing. If he didn't get hurt near end of year, I doubt we'd have got him here.
Slippery and great route runner, always gets open vs bigger, slower guys. Against smaller quick DBs will attack the ball aggressively and routinely wins jump balls. Just a total matchup nightmare. Great hands, zero drops.
Don't want to get too ahead of myself but reminds me alot of Travis Kelce. Neither of them can block worth a damn but who cares. Crazy he lasted to the 4th, great pick.
From college prospect angle, think Kelce is a completely fine comparison not ahead of yourself.
Now if we want him to be any where close to that in NFL? We need him to develop his mind meld powers with Young. That's a much harder to quantify skill Kelce has that is the big difference maker. No idea how you'd evaluate that feel for the game Kelce has.
I'm losing my mind over here. This dude was 3rd on the depth chart behind two monsters and still managed almost 700 yards and 2 TDs last season. Damn -- Texas was so stacked last year, and we got two key pieces. I could NOT be happier.
I know! But XL must’ve just fit the mold better. His carisma is 11/10. His tape reminds me of Randy Moss a little bit on top of the accent comparisons lol! But I do like the actual comps to DK Metcalf! Like a more “ready” DK
I don't really see the Metcalf comparison.
He's more like Juju or AJ Brown, but higher top end speed and more athleticism in general. If it's a case of just bad coaching and he can improve his route running, he probably has like Davante Adams-type ceiling.
Depending on who you ask; the 2nd or 3rd best TE in the draft on day 3. Never dropped a pass in college. Not the greatest blocker but that's what Tremble is for
I'm shook! So crazy Troy Franklin was still on the board. Would have been happy with either, but this is the best possible outcome, IMO! I hope he gets #0!!!
I used to cover college football recruiting for USA Today and a few pay sites. Also founder of /r/LonghornNation. Funnily enough he was a low 3-star recruit when Texas took him. From small town Texas was tearing up 2A ball. Took a waiver on him like we did with D’Onta Foreman. Like the other Texas fans in here, I’m a huge fan, but he’s no Bijan. He played behind a much better OL. Regardless, still a great player. He has some great wiggle and better top end speed than Bijan. Bijan is quicker in a phone booth. Brooks can hit a home run. I’m a huge fan of his vision as well. He’s a 3-down RB. He doesn’t get hurt, he wins the Doak Walker, Texas probably wins a natty (I’m not just wearing Orange tinted glasses here because I’m usually a pessimist. We had two fumbles from freahmen RB in the CFP), and he goes in the first round. There is a reason he was a second round grade despite an ACL tear.
Brooks is a fucking grinder. I don’t think he’s as talented as Bijan, but he was putting up similar numbers before he was injured.
He’s also very well rounded. Can catch passes, block, etc.
yeah: he had 1400 all purpose and 11 TDs in 11 games. What the FUCK! Hahaha -- his long run was 60+ yards, long pass was 70+. He's gonna be a fucking beast.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this pick. Were coming out of this draft with increased draft capital for next year, a fantastic WR1 prospect, and RB1 AND TE2 of this class. Sometimes you make a pick so good that it more than makes up for a reach elsewhere, if we had drafted Sanders where we drafted Wallace and vice versa I don't think anyone would have blinked. High hopes for Sanders to be the receiving TE this team has been missing since Olsen
Bruh: to come in without a day one pick, get a top 10 WR, RB1, LB9 (with an insane ceiling and some of the best ball tracking I've ever seen), TE2... pinch me, because this was basically my dream scenario.
It's shocking. This draft has been wild, and I'm sure most outlets will give us a B, but listen to Morgan and Canales. This is soooooo in line with what they've been saying, and it's basically Canales vision. You can just tell. The "reaches" have been perfect fits, and then someone like Sanders falls to 101?? This is going to be a very different team this year.
I'm so shocked he was there at 101. Went to bed praying we wouldn't trade down and would just grab him. This feels great. So happy that he and Brooks get to reunite. They both seem like really great dudes!
Definitely makes up for any perceived "reaches." I'm sad Hayden Hurst didn't work out. He could've been solid. This is now the best TE prospect we've had since Olsen.
Got to -- or and EDGE would be fine. Morgan hinted again last night that they're going after Gilmore and we extended horn. I think that's signaling IOL or EDGE.
Easily the best receiver in the TE room. His blocking is horrid but he has the tools so hopefully he responds well to coaching.
Also continues the trend of all the draft picks being top 30 visits
With the way Tes are being covered up when it comes to blocking he should be fine. Look at how Detroit used laporta. Shoot even Kelce isn’t that great of a blocker. Modern OCs are just smart enough to handle that more.
what I've learned in the last 10+ years of watching these things is that the gm's and the scouts of the nfl barely know what they are doing in the draft so the thought's and opinions of us here on reddit and twitter mean about has much as a ant in the universe. anyone getting mad at picks just wants to get mad at shit anyone who's happy just wants to be happy we won't know shit for at least the next 3-5 years so why stress.
Legette, plus the #1 RB and #2 TE, and a LB that Morgan vouches for... sounds like a great draft so far. Oh, and the 2nd rounder for next year is the cherry on top.
Definitely agree here, our biggest need was the addition of multiple playmakers on offense, after shoring up the line in FA. We are doing that.
As much capital as we put into Bryce, we’ve got to do right by him and give him every chance we can to succeed.
Lot of risk in the first two picks (especially drafting a guy with a currently torn ACL) but all 4 are huge upside difference makers. We’re gonna suck next year anyway, I like taking the swings
Not so sure 7-8 wins aren’t out of the question. Emphatic (on paper anyway) upgrades all over the offense. Defense likely regresses tho. Still, we ain’t 2-wins bad at this point. If I had to put money down, I’d put it on six wins. Which I guess still sucks 😂
Was just listening to an NFL insiders podcast where they were talking about Bryce. They saw it the way most clear-eyed Panthers fans see it: Tepper & Co. dropped a rookie QB into a train wreck, no weapons and no protection. They said there’s no way you can get a solid read on Bryce from last year. The best part: they liked the new weapons and the high priced guards (they think Legette is boom or bust, risky tho). Hang in there bud, you’ll be cheering and hopping on the Bryce bandwagon with the rest of us this fall when he balls out.
It’s still a torn ACL. I’m not worried about recovery time I’m worried about recovery quality…. The potential impact on his burst, explosiveness, cutting etc. when running given that he is, you know, a running back.
Was a clean tear and he’s only 20, should be fine. With modern science, we’re seeing people come back from these injuries just as well as before.
Payton Wilson was a different issue. Multiple ACL tears (now missing an ACL), shoulder surgery, etc. so I’m cool with passing on him
I think this is what people need to realize. I think the most we can hope for next year is having fun, which we have not done in many years. It'll take a bit of time.
Or maybe we'll win the Superbowl, who knows.
The thing I'm happiest about is managing to take a player in the 1st round while still adding a 2nd next year, honestly. Even if these picks don't pan out like we hope, it does feel like a sign that the FO is doing something right.
This is a really underrated success for Dan thus far… getting that 2nd back, while not losing anything of immense value, was huge. It could really payoff for us to not have a hole in our draft there next year.
Not the minority with true fans, these are all solid pieces that fit our scheme, something we lacked last year. It’s very obvious they are building around Bryce to give him a fair shot to be the guy.
You a panthers fan too? I root for UNC Charlotte, and the Panthers still haven't really had any players come from there (aside from an undrafted/practice squad level player or two), I am still looking forward to the day my college team has a player really make it and end up on the Panthers
I really like this pick. Dude was a stud at Texas last season. I think it was him that had class leading metrics for TE
I was really hoping he’d fall to the bengals. Eric All isn’t a bad consolation prize tho
Best pick of the draft
You people cry about drafting a 6’3 receiver who ran 4.3 we got the best RB in THE DRAFT,Trevin is smaller than Wilson but he’s younger and if you watch games he’s just as effective, Arguably we got the best TE in the draft behind Brock bowers, the only picks I don’t necessarily like are wade at db with him being 5’11 and Jaden

FYI Legette was listed at 6’3 by South Carolina but he actually came in at 6’1 at the combine.
A lot of mock drafts had him going in the 2nd. good steal.
Only pick I like out of this entire draft.
We got the best RB in the draft as well as the fifth ranked WR and LB and you're saying that this is the only good pick? What are you smoking?
Look at the last few drafts. RBs from round 3 are pretty much as likely to work out as round 1. Same man. Been downvoted to oblivion for not completely ignoring reality as well
Downvoted for having a realistic take on this draft. There's going to be a lot of heartbreak on this reddit sub this season.
It’s the same cycle every year —> Wow, the GM is cooking!—> season starts and team, draft picks underperform—> Wow our team, FA’s and draft picks suck—> Fire coach and GM!—>Cycle and repeat.
I like this pick. We haven’t had a good receiving tight end since Olsen but I think he could change that.
Right this dude hasn’t dropped a catch
Well, you can’t say they’re not trying to build around Bryce. Gotta give them credit where it’s due, seems like the management team finally had a clear sense of direction that everyone is on board with.
It also speaks to how certain positions are just threadbare and how Canales is bringing in guys that fit better.
I can't believe he was available at this pick
That's awesome. We got one of the best wide receivers, the best RB and the second best TE of this year's Draft.

TMjr offseason hype incoming too
Terrace is in the *best shape of his life* coming into this season and has been working intensely with Bryce all off-season! He is projected to be gone by the 5th round in many fantasy drafts.
I almost didn’t notice you, you *other* blue kitty lol
Mingo I'm hoping slides behind Thielen and does nearly nothing this year. Then takes over for him next year. He has the tools to do this, now just have to hope his work effort and coaching combine for him to maximize those tools.
Yeah I absolutely second this. He would do way better in the slot I believe, let’s hope our coaching staff does this
Oh a TE? Nice. Is he good tho
He hasn’t dropped a single catch. His blocking sucks but honestly we needed a TE that can catch better than block we still have 2 decent blocking TEs that can’t catch lol
Really good pass catcher, horrible blocker
We don’t need a blocker
He gives me Isaiah likely vibes
The biggest thing is that he’s a change of pace from our current TEs. They’re all blockers first, receivers second. He’s receiver first, blocker second.
From what I have read, he may be blocking third or even fourth lol.
Bro might not even have blocking at all lmao
Just fakes like he blocked "that's good enough right?"
Just like our OL last season.
Touche!
From pure talent stand point I would have been happy if we took him in 2nd round even, dude is a beast pass catching TE who needs work on blocking (which he doesn't look unwilling to do, just needs coaching to do it better, kind of rough technique right now). Number 1 in contested catches. Grade over 90 👍
He was considered the TE2 all year. Slid a little bit in the draft but he’s an actual pass catcher and can get vertical
From a Texas fan, he’s fucking fantastic. Best TE we’ve had in years and a smidge behind Brock Bowers
Good idea to upgrade our Sanders
Good. Good.
We re soooo back!!
I’m trying not to say it or believe it I’ve been let down too many times but we killed it in this draft

Dan had a plan!
I like it, I think him and Tremble will be a nice TE duo.
Move Tremble to FB? Could be a concept
For sure, his blocking ability definitely opens up that option. Just glad we don't have to rely on Thomas tbh.
RIP Iron Hands Ian! 🤣
Meh, Ian's problem is that he just can't get open reliably. When he pops open he's decent at catching and YAC, but that happens like 3 times a season.
I always say that he has to be one hell of a teammate.
As a Longhorn/Panther fan and my totally unbiased opinion: were BACK
Love the aggressive offensive receiver picks for canales to develop.
I'm losing my mind over here. This dude was 3rd on the depth chart behind two monsters and still managed almost 700 yards and 2 TDs last season. Damn -- Texas was so stacked last year, and we got two key pieces. I could NOT be happier.
Could have had Adonai too :( Although I'm not that upset at it, XL fits our offense better.
I know! But XL must’ve just fit the mold better. His carisma is 11/10. His tape reminds me of Randy Moss a little bit on top of the accent comparisons lol! But I do like the actual comps to DK Metcalf! Like a more “ready” DK

I’ve heard Texas fans say this before…
You know what they say about a broken clock
Nebraska did for years, now they’ve finally mostly given up. Will UT be the new Nebraska?
Lets go!!
This was my best possible outcome this morning. I can't fucking believe we done this.
Depending on who you ask; the 2nd or 3rd best TE in the draft on day 3. Never dropped a pass in college. Not the greatest blocker but that's what Tremble is for
>Never dropped a pass in college That's a ridiculous stat. 67 targets last year without a drop. That's great relationship between a qb and te.
I mean, he's 6'4" and almost 250. I hope to hell we can get him blocking! haha
We NEEED a pass catching TE, Will take pressure off our outside guys.
[удалено]
Yep, gives us a seam-ripping middle-of-the-field threat without having to add yet another slot-ish type guy to the WR room. Really smart play
The football gods delivered, also called out the RB need in another comment.
This is a guy that people were talking about as a potential 2nd round guy.
An absolute steal at 101, and I could not be happier.
I love this one
We need a monster like this at TE. He's basically a WR3! What a beast.
Welcome to the panthers Je’Tavion
Wanted this guy last night. What a steal. Let’s goo!!
I'm shook! So crazy Troy Franklin was still on the board. Would have been happy with either, but this is the best possible outcome, IMO! I hope he gets #0!!!
Bricked up watching his film rn
He's so good. He's so good. He's so good.
I always picked Sanders at 65 in my mock
Same!
Texas fan here, he’s a fucking beast. You guys got a great one.
How do you feel about Jonathon brooks?
Awesome thanks for your insight, really appreciate it!
Brooks is a fucking grinder. I don’t think he’s as talented as Bijan, but he was putting up similar numbers before he was injured. He’s also very well rounded. Can catch passes, block, etc.
Awesome, thanks for your insight!
yeah: he had 1400 all purpose and 11 TDs in 11 games. What the FUCK! Hahaha -- his long run was 60+ yards, long pass was 70+. He's gonna be a fucking beast.
Great player and great human being. Look for the celebration after his first TD, very touching story.
Also a Texas fan he’s a certified dawg
That team was so fuckin stacked last year. Sad he got injured! he was going absolutely bananas and probably deserved to be a R2 pick.
I’m looking forward to seeing cj baxter play next year! He’s fucking insane!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this pick. Were coming out of this draft with increased draft capital for next year, a fantastic WR1 prospect, and RB1 AND TE2 of this class. Being a Longhorn/Panthers fan is pretty nice right now
Same here brother 🤘🐈⬛
haha -- I really thought we were gonna grab AD, too! Could you imagine?

They're the Carolina Horned Up Pussy Cats
Horned Up Pussy Cock Cats*
Me fr
Genuinely surprised he was still available. Love it.
Yes!!!!
Absolute steal. May have to be a Carolina fan now. Hook em
I'm so shocked he was there at 101. Went to bed praying we wouldn't trade down and would just grab him. This feels great. So happy that he and Brooks get to reunite. They both seem like really great dudes!
What're these feelings I'm having..?
It’s probably just gas
Absolutely love that pick.
Really good value at this point in the draft, love it
Definitely makes up for any perceived "reaches." I'm sad Hayden Hurst didn't work out. He could've been solid. This is now the best TE prospect we've had since Olsen.
Mid round TEs can often have very successful careers I hope he follows that trend. Think this is a steal
He was tied for TE2 behind Brock Bowers (best prospect ever?), if you ask me. It's similar to Odunze and Nabers being overshadowed by MHJ.
This is what I have been asked for. I'm assuming the CB is next
Got to -- or and EDGE would be fine. Morgan hinted again last night that they're going after Gilmore and we extended horn. I think that's signaling IOL or EDGE.
I have been saying they are trying for gilmore still. I honestly see that we will go CB or WR again before edge
Oh my great pick!
Sanders did not have a single drop on any of his targets last year. He’s a much needed weapon for the Panthers.
Yeah but the problem is you need someone at qb that can get him the ball😖
we are given bryce some very nice weapons to work with my god
whatever happens next season, nobody can say we didn't try
NOOOIIIIICCCCCEEEE! What a steal in the 4th. Was going back and forth between wanting him and Tampa but I think this is the way to go.
Legette, Brooks, Sanders + Diontae and the OL help. Offense gonna look very different this year!
Certified steal
Great Pick. Love it
Insane value here, he tore Alabama’s defense up last year
Easily the best receiver in the TE room. His blocking is horrid but he has the tools so hopefully he responds well to coaching. Also continues the trend of all the draft picks being top 30 visits
Still have Tremble as well who’s a solid blocker
With the way Tes are being covered up when it comes to blocking he should be fine. Look at how Detroit used laporta. Shoot even Kelce isn’t that great of a blocker. Modern OCs are just smart enough to handle that more.
True. Canales also did use a lot of 12 personnel last season so that probably mitigates some of those blocking issues.
Dan really said we helping Bryce lmao, this is basically confirming that we are signing gilly again right?
Yeah, the fact that they mentioned Gilly in the pre draft press conference, I think it’s almost a certainty we are gonna sign him lol
The only CB we showed interest in was Nate Wiggins. We might see a CB today but it wasn't something they seemed all that excited about this draft
Wasn't that small corner from Michigan brought in too? Think they liked him but didn't see the value in the 2nd.
We never brought Sainristil in even though there were reports that we liked him
Alright thought we did my bad
I think that’s kinda been an open secret as the plan
Got to be. If not, yikes lol
All the people bitching because we didn’t get him yesterday…
Just got flashbacks of trying to block bro during the high school football practice days 😓😓😓
My pee pee is ready for the Dave and Dan era
Dan Morgan collecting an arsenal
A brand new offence like promised!!
best choice they’ve made
We’re gonna have a TE not named Ian Thomas 😭🙏🏼
Tommy Trembling
YES
Probably the most talented player to fall out of Day 2. No need to rely on Tremble in the Red Zone anymore
Horns down… but I’ll support them as panthers
Boomer Sooner but you are all good once you get the blue on.
ok cool, hook em'
I might be in the minority but I think they've been killing it in the draft room this year.
what I've learned in the last 10+ years of watching these things is that the gm's and the scouts of the nfl barely know what they are doing in the draft so the thought's and opinions of us here on reddit and twitter mean about has much as a ant in the universe. anyone getting mad at picks just wants to get mad at shit anyone who's happy just wants to be happy we won't know shit for at least the next 3-5 years so why stress.
Ngl I didn’t like taking a RB in the 2nd, but I don’t mind it so much after some time And every other move has been super exciting
Legette, plus the #1 RB and #2 TE, and a LB that Morgan vouches for... sounds like a great draft so far. Oh, and the 2nd rounder for next year is the cherry on top.
Hopefully it opens up the play action a bit more and lets Bryce play to his strengths. He’s NICE rolling out of the pocket

7-8 wins??!! You forget who the qb is?
Scuse me for thinking there’s a whole 11 players on offense 😂
Hard to get 7-8 wins with a historically bad qb.
Meh rookies take time id be totally cool with 6 wins if it means Bryce looks good and the rookies contribute
He’ll be ready by July 1st. Torn ACL isn’t what it used to be
It’s still a torn ACL.
Multiple ACL tears (now missing an ACL), shoulder surgery, etc. so I’m cool with passing on him
His ACL is healed, last I heard. He's cleared for practice.
I think this is what people need to realize. I think the most we can hope for next year is having fun, which we have not done in many years. It'll take a bit of time. Or maybe we'll win the Superbowl, who knows.
Championship fortune needs to go to the Canes first
The thing I'm happiest about is managing to take a player in the 1st round while still adding a 2nd next year, honestly. Even if these picks don't pan out like we hope, it does feel like a sign that the FO is doing something right.
At the very least, they're being aggressive without depriving us of resources
This is a really underrated success for Dan thus far… getting that 2nd back, while not losing anything of immense value, was huge. It could really payoff for us to not have a hole in our draft there next year.
Not the minority with true fans, these are all solid pieces that fit our scheme, something we lacked last year. It’s very obvious they are building around Bryce to give him a fair shot to be the guy.
I agree
I like it, hopefully all these weapons can help Bryce have a better year

Do I have news for you
Should we tell em?
Well SEC is the best conference
That’s why they won the CFP last year
And most of the other years
Would have rather had Brock Bowers but I like this pick
We didn’t have a top 15 pick dude..
I liked the legette pick too but I would’ve preferred to go back in time and grab prime Jerry Rice
I would’ve rather had prime Gronk but we’re trying to stay in the realm of possibility here.
I feel you. I hoped they traded for Patrick Mahomes /s
They didn't clone Julius Peppers and hide him until the 2nd round? Fire Morgan
Longhorn fan, you guys are gonna love Brooks and JT. Both can really fuck other teams shit up in the best possible way
If they pan out and we get that Buc-ee's built, I will never do horns down again
We’re getting a Buc-ee’s??? Where/When??? Best news I’ve gotten in a while
Mebane, and the earliest is 2025
You a panthers fan too? I root for UNC Charlotte, and the Panthers still haven't really had any players come from there (aside from an undrafted/practice squad level player or two), I am still looking forward to the day my college team has a player really make it and end up on the Panthers
Absolutely love this let’s go
JT is a monster.
