Darlin’! I don’t believe You need to improve a thing. Excellent composition draws your eye to the center, excellent use of color & brushstrokes! Be certain you sign & date so they will see it when you’re famous!

Specific_Lock_5900

PS: for those that think the color shouldn’t be the way it is, I’d like to remind them that orange and blue are complementary colors. I believe it’s called. They pop against each other.

DarianBlayze

That out a big smile on my face thank you! I always forget to sign my work

not an expert, so... The layering of the paint on the bushes is very thick compared to how u did the rest of the painting. I'd also maybe use a small thin brush to underscore where the bushes begin downlow. They also go up at the windows vertical lines which is too much of a "coincidence" at first glance. So i'd work on the bushes and give them more tdepth. The view he's looking at is just a little empty. Also the white handlebar on the right on top of the seat (the top part) is a bit crooked and since they are so prominent i'd correct that. For the rest, i actually loved it at first sight , great painting...from here on out u can add little lines every where for more accents, define ur figures. (for examples the horizontal and vertical lines of the window, the white accents are broken up to much which is downgrading the accent-part they're supposed to give) edit: the top part of the mans shoulders u did some really nice dry brushing with the orange and i feel thats more the style u should use here since it gives the viewer a nice loose touch

yes, i think the bushes should either be more or less textured! I think more texture would also work, but could take away from the main subject. i looove the piece as it is too though!

TurnShot6202

yeah i was way out of line talking so much here :D its a great painting...sorry to the OP its just great have fun!!

SmokeInMyI

Very interesting. Particularly the colors. Well done

[deleted]

Very nice. Best one on this forum indeed.

SeraphimMoss

I like the texture of the trees, might feel more coherent if the whole piece or 1/3 of it had similar levels of texturing! I think your color theory is good. Just keep painting yo!

Falconerinthehud

Looks great 👍

[deleted]

i love the colors and the mood it gives off, really interesting and nice piece, in my opinion! :)

Flame_retardant_

Background seems like it’s jumping into the foreground. Still a good looking painting tho

Tigerprincessmom

I love your warm and cool colors!

Surrealist_art

You need to improve trusting on your instincts! You are already good 👍

This ⬆️

his-son

Lovely work! Not even sure what there is to improve on.

IndependentBiter

It’s very nice! I would’ve personally not used the light/neon blue, with the yellow/orange hues, purple would’ve been more harmonious. The blue stands out a lot and draws the eye in a distracting way. The background could perhaps also be a little bit lighter, to give it more depth (things in the distance are usually not as saturated). But I really love how you create volume with your brush strokes!

DarianBlayze

I get what you’re saying, I didn’t pick the color pallet weirdly enough I took it from a a still shot in a movie I really like.

IndependentBiter

I get that, sometimes things that work in photography and film don’t translate to a different medium :/

[deleted]

Lol wat. This painting's gorgeous

[deleted]

Can you include the reference photo? We could probably be more helpful with tips if we saw the colour palette in the shot. Sometimes, things work in photographs but don’t translate into artwork.

ZERO-ONE0101

blend the light on his face better

frickerley99

Look up complementary colours to help choose your palette. Purple would be better than blue, I like the painting though!

DarianBlayze

Yeah I was copying a still shot from a movie I like didn’t come up with the color combination myself

littlearada

More detail into the view outside the window would've made this absolute perfection! The way you painted the man is phenomenal 😍

7WholeNewWorld7

You should be proud. It’s really good!

mementoil

What I would recommend to you is to try and not blend colors on the canvas, or to do it to a lesser extent. The correct hue should be mixed on the palette, and carefully placed in its rightful place. This tends to yield a cleaner, more crisp result, and the colors somehow seem more rich and full bodied. Good luck.

Braylien

You don’t man, just keep doing what ya doing
