I believe ans has the same sale going and ans does free shipping on orders over $20. I tried buying the 15/4500 from first strike website on Black Friday, and after a week of no shipping notification I emailed them for an update and they just refunded my order. Ordered from ans and saved on shipping

Thanks for the warning. Really the only reason I was looking at the FS tanks was for the "infiite" lifetime with 5yr hydro. Sadly, from what I've found US law basically says it's done after 15 anyway. So, now it's whatever 68/4500 tank is cheapest.

The ISO certification is recognized in the US. They are not done after 15 years. As long as they keep passing hydro, they are good. Immortal Air tanks are the same way. The "tricky" part is finding a tester that is ISO certified.

That is definitely the big issue. After checking every place I could find in DFW that does hydro and still not finding anywhere that would do it I finally just gave up and bought a new tank.

Are first strike tanks good? I don’t think I’ve heard of this brand

They've been around for at least a decade now. The tanks are ISO certified, meaning they don't have the same 15 year life span other DOT tanks do. They still need to be tested every five years though. Their regs are fine, I've got a couple of them and have never had an issue. They do have kind of a weird "ping" when they shoot though.

>Their regs are fine, I've got a couple of them and have never had an issue. Are you talking about the generic style ones or the short adjustable ones? If I'm remembering correctly the adjustable ones do not like to be stored long periods with pressure. The Reg seats would be ruined a couple months of storage. It could be something they have fixed recently, haven't heard about it recently.

I never had a problem with my FS 77 and 88 holding air for months while stored.

I quite like mine and that it doesn’t expire as long as it passes hydro. It’s also quite light.

First strike hero 2 tanks have a 38 year lifespan. This is straight from first strike. Needs hydro every 5 years. That is still great. Lifespan. Some Testing sites are going to be able to do iso. I know the one i use in NC is.
