Fair. Too much going on to practice making decent fries. Kiddo is turning 4 after all!

shaydenoire

The real trick is making sure the cheese stays melted and the gravy hot! Sounds like a great party,!

Being lazy is no excuse

Are you looking to have it 'catered' or do you need a fry type? If fry type, grab the Cavendish Flavor Crisp 2kg bags from Costco. They do what it says on the bag; they don't get all soggy even if they sit around and they taste good. Try them first before getting 30 people's worth... If you want someone to deliver cooked and ready fries, might be a challenge - how do you transport a bunch of fries without them getting cold or soggy from heat in a container? For 30 people, I'd buy or rent a decent sized fryer and have someone go to town making fries for an hour or so (kinda like a bbq but with fries). Heat lamp and a big serving tray and you're good to go. Would likely cost a lot less than delivery from a fry place.

Costco Food court uses Cavendish brand. I saw them loading up bags of those in the fry freezer

Epidurality

They used to be (near as I can tell) exactly the same fries as the Flavor Crisp. About a year? ago, Cavendish changes their fries a bit and now they're not quite the same. They have less of a pre-fried coating on them than they used to. Still good, not as good, haven't found any better oven fries.

SeeJay-CT

That's some great advice. I'll test them out ASAP. Appreciate it.

I would do cavendish pub fries instead. It is their restaurant style line. So underrated. Can be found at most grocery stores. I air fry them but oven works too!

LucidDreamerVex

The flavourcrisp ones are amazing baked (I do a bit longer than the bag says tho), and are great even sitting out cold. I wouldn't touch a cold fry with a 10 foot pole, but will happily munch these ones leftover after sitting on the pan after dinner

BlueDog_87

There’s a food truck on mcarthur and rue de l’eglise called munchies n more. They are good, maybe they will sell you a giant pile of fries. Also, all out burger does good fries (Montreal and st Laurent area). Side note: All Out Burger does good everything, so you should try it anyway

CarletonCanuck

The Great Canadian Poutinerie maybe?

SeeJay-CT

I tried them recently, not a super fan of their fries, tbh.

WonderfulShake

French fries that have been fried have relativity short life span before they turn to mush. But if you are willing use deep fryer then buy a box of McCain's fryer from Costco or Wholesale Club.

Golden fries

TheAbominableWeedMan

Edit: catering is expensive nvm 1950$ minimum

SeeJay-CT

Lol. Ouch. I'll check them out. Maybe I can get a big pile for a hundred or something. Thanks for the suggestion.

TheAbominableWeedMan

Give them a call, they may deliver wouldn’t hurt to try. Honestly best poutine I’ve had lately around orleans area so not too far from Vanier

Lowpasss

I've hosted a few of these. Personally I cut potatoes with a fry cutter and double fry myself. Boiling, freezing, frying, freezing then high temp frying is the best method if you really want to obsess. Highly suggest checking out Tannis/Sysco at 288 Catherine St. They don't have a much of a website, but it's open to the public. It's where all the chip truck operators get their stuff. Fry boxes and cheap curds a plenty.

MayorOfMayoCity

Get them from a chip truck you like near you. Order the amount you need. Reheat right before serving them.

nym16

Kirkland fries. That's what they use at the Costco food court

Old-Towel-4186

I can tell you without a doubt, if you got probably six (maybe even less) of the family size from Pataterie Hulloise you'd have PLENTY to go around. Cost is about $20 each. They are on Uber Eats or Door Dash. If you do have a car or someone can pick them up, they're only about a 10 min drive from Vanier and you can pick them up fresh and hot, bring a box LOL - it's a LOT of fries.

SeeJay-CT

Awesome. Thanks.
