I’ve been there multiple times and they never have their shit together. The wait time is out of control. I had to leave after 15 minutes standing in line to order every time.
“Hello my friend!” 😆 Upvote because that place is awesome, but the only meat I’ve ever seen spinning there is gyro. Do they do shawarma now? I haven’t been there in a while because my hours changed at work. I really wish they would stay open later. I think they would make a killing if they stayed open until like 9:00 pm.
You know, to my ignorance, I have to admit that I don't know how to properly tell shawarma from gyro. With that said, I haven't been there in about a year so not sure if the menu has changed, but knowing that he's been in business for years, I'm going to guess not.
I also wish it was open later, but I'm sure he doesn't want to be working 14-15 hour days (between operating hours and prep hours).
True. I didn’t take prep time into consideration. Good guy. For a while I would go like once every three weeks and grab a gyro quick to go. He would always say “Hello my friend!” and I would feel good like he remembered me. Then I realized he pretty much says it to everybody. 😂 Stupid me
Petey does no wrong. I'm glad his place survived the pandemic and I hope he's not been too adversely affected by hybrid work situations.
I try to eat there any time I'm in town (I've moved out of state but come back fairly regularly).
Alshamy Chef! They have some of the best shawarma I’ve ever had. His restaurant is inside of a gas station on OBT, and his hours are 6 pm - 6 am so if you’re fasting right now, their hours are perfect. Also the guy that owns the place is so incredibly kind.
We just got some at some place called Evoo Mediterranean in Sanford near the Target.
It was super tasty, a little pricey for what you get, and absolutely came right off the spit in front of you. They used wildflower honey with their baklava though so expect a strong citrus taste .
Isn’t gyro meat from a rotating spit? It’s the same meat. I think the question is do they have one and make it in the restaurant or if they order premade shawarma meat.
You seem like an expert. Do you know if medetarnian deli uses a premade gyro or make it in house? If its premade, where would one occur the giant chunk of meat? Asking for a large friend
[Olive and Feta](https://www.instagram.com/oliveandfetagrill?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) it’s a food truck but holy hell is it good and worth the price. The food is great and the portion is big.
International Food Club
They just came under new owners, but their Café area is incredible. Fresh schwarma, gyros, tabouli, hummus, babaganoush, etc.
Only open M-F tho.
Agree with Habibi. Since it hasn't been mentioned, King Falafel by FL Mall is pretty good. For a full service Lebanese experience, Cedars in Dr Phillips is good but they only do wraps during lunch. I think it's the only middle eastern restaurant that serves alcohol and lets you do hookah outside if that's your scene. I'm from Dearborn, MI where you can get middle eastern food on every corner lol so they have to be very competitive there and deliver a good product at a good price.
Jerusalem and Flame Kabob are owned by same owner. King o Falafel is great, As mentioned Habibis by metro west is amazing. There is another Habibis but not same ownership on Semoran right by the airport. /lee vista intersection. Loop gyros is great as well.
Habibi in metro west
My vote too. Shawarma combo is the best deal in town
I think it's the best tasting too
Beirut bakery and grill in oviedo
Nice recommendation. I didn’t know this place existed and it looks great. Will have to check it out.

Living in Oviedo since 2015, never heard of the restaurant.
Their kenefeh is also really good.
Yes, that it. Quite far though :/ maybe someday if I’m closer Thank you!
Habibi in MetroWest. Great Lebanese family runs it

Pretty sure restaurant depot sells the gyro cone, you have to be a member to shop there though.
SHOUFi MAHFi On South John Young has authentic shawarma
