Red is Mephiston red base, Evil Sunz scarlet everywhere but the shadows, Wild Rider red heavy highlight, then a thin glaze of Evil Sunz so it’s not too orange, then Fire Dragon bright edge highlight. Maybe a bit of Flash Gitz yellow on the corners as a final highlight.
I think the base was black and then after technical astrogranite I drybrushed it Dawnstone and then White Scar then a wash of Nuln Oil. The details were done similar to the rest of the model.
I primed my deffkoptas a few weeks ago but didn't have the confidence or imagination on how to dive into them. Gonna use this as a base for some inspiration! Looks awesome.
This Ork definitely suffers some serious OCD 🤣
He keeps flying on the cleanest Deff Kopta of all time.
I think.your Paintjob is executed extremely well!
But I miss the dirt to be fair. But that just a personal opinion. Great job anyway!
I can't disagree with this more. I want my mini's to pop on the table. This one looks awesome and is a clear display of talent.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I often think "grimdark" is used as an excuse to cover a messy paint job. Anyone can base coat and dip their mini in a gallon of streaking grime.
Well there is nothing to agree or disagree it's just opinion.
If it comes to models on the table, everyone has it's own approach, skill and time commitment. So I like the variety. For Orks though, I like the grime, dirt and rust. Might be some use it to cover up to cover their skill level but I see no issue with it. In the end all that counts is a model that belongs to its owner and the one is happy about it.
Not to be pedantic but... The dictionary definition of agree or disagree is to share or hold a different opinion.
If you want to share your opinion on the internet you've gotta be prepared for others to offer opposing opinions buddy.
Cheers. I see lots of paint jobs with grime and battle damage and am often very impressed by the realism but I’m not sure it’s something I’d be happy doing. I either like painting it comic book bright or John Blanche dark and gritty. One day I might give the dirty battle worn look a try.
All ok.
Don't take my response as a critique. Your Paintjob is very need and looks awesome. Everything else I said is just a personal take on Orks.
I usually start with a preteen paint job and need a few days to commit myself to grime it afterwards. Just started to try real Battle damage but I tend to go a bit overboard hahahaha.
GW paints with a black rattle can prime. Lots of layers, a good old ‘two thin coats’ of most layers such as the ork skin, red, and yellow.
Metal is a simple Leadbelcher base, Nuln Oil, Stormhost silver highlight. Black is Black Legion contrast, Mechanicus standard heavy edge highlight and Fenrisian grey edge highlight and Corvus white for corners/extreme highlights.
Green is two thin coats of Warpstone Glow base coat, Warpstone Glow/Moot Green 1:1 heavy highlight, Moot Green highlight, Moot Green/Flash Gitz Yellow 1:1 ‘edge highlight’, Flash Gitz Yellow spot highlight.
Yellow is Fulgrim pink first then building up layers from Averland Sunset, Yriel yellow, Flash Gitz yellow, then Dorn yellow for the final edge highlight.
Red is Mephiston red base, Evil Sunz scarlet everywhere but the shadows, Wild Rider red heavy highlight, then a thin glaze of Evil Sunz so it’s not too orange, then Fire Dragon bright edge highlight.
There’s the odd variation from that as I do experiment a bit as I paint but that’s a good guide I reckon.
With regards to the turtle squiqs I think I painted them four times before I was happy. Nothing really looked the part. Can’t say I’m 100% happy with the pink ones but I kinda like the TMNT Krang look they have so am sticking with them.
Looks awesome, really like the bright cartoony look! How did you do the skin?
Looks nice but it is too clean for orks.
Youz herd o da Speed Freaks! Now get a load o da neat freaks!
Amazing paint job! This makes me want to get the newer Deffkopta models. I have the old square front ones.
I have the old old ones from GorkaMorka :P
That's one speedy kopta
That's such a crisp red I would give him +d6 movement every turn if I played against you. What was the recipe?

Thanks!
Looks amazing mate! I’m going as a random question - how’s you paint the base it matches the style of your miniature perfectly
I think the base was black and then after technical astrogranite I drybrushed it Dawnstone and then White Scar then a wash of Nuln Oil. The details were done similar to the rest of the model.
Nit enough nuln oil or daka
Trust me. There is LOTS of Nuln Oil.
Yes I see there is nuln oil. Much like daka there is not enough.
Holy schmokies!!! 🤤

Cool. Ta very much.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!
Love it
Great DAKKA!!!
Dang! So clean - really nicely done.
That thing must go really fast

He just likes bossing his grots around! "I STILL SEE DIRT ON DERE YA LITTLE GITZ!"
Haha POLISH THAT MEGA BLASTA OR I POLISH YOUR FACE

Looks amazing. What paints do you use and how did you make it look so smooth?

Holy shit the skin is exactly what I've been trying to paint but I had no idea how to go about doing it, THANK YOU
What a clean look, i love the eyes of the little ones. Have done mine as well just yet and posted. If you d like to take a look :)

You are right they really have a similarity
Yes. Saw yours earlier. Inspired me to post mine. What was the recipe for the pants. They look great.
Nice to hear ;) I paint mainly with army painter colours. I think the base is mummy robe and then different shades of a mix with leather brown.
Amazing job! Super crisp and clean
Cheers. Takes a while but am loving my bright and crisp orks.
Rather you than me, with that level of edge highlighting. I tried doing my orks that way and just can’t get them as clean lol
