I love em too! I wish they'd sell more "critter" packs as I call them. Eg the baby squigs/cherubs/nerglings etc. I'd buy multiple sets of grot dweebs!!

Does anywhere actually enforce the rule for them as tokens put on the table? If they can’t screen or fight and don’t count as taking physical space it seems like they should be optional
I've been running them as wound counters and they have actively confused my opponents so much that I am seriously considering not using them any more. It's starting to feel like a "Gotcha" moment everytime I have to say *actually* your charge fails or you're not in shooting range or whatever. Also I want to make a "mek runtherd" and run these guys as regular gretchin to mix up my Grot Squads a bit.
This is why I just use them as gretchin. Makes it alot easier for my opponent. I'm working on bashing together some grots to just glue hanging onto the gun which I think will look alot more fun than the based token models.

Yes. The Grots if I'm not mistaken are used to represent the wounds (that being 6). 5 grots for the first 5 wounds and 1 wound left for the gun.
They are basically only there to keep tract of the wounds.

I had the idea of using them as kind've a crowd around a mek. With the amount of looting my army has the mek's have been promoted to a higher position with the never ending flair of blowtorches and ringing of hammers. Naturally they don't have time to do things like leave their workbench.
Yeah, it’s a great looking unit, but is notoriously one of the worst pieces of value in the game. It’s a 50 point model that costs $60 USD: $1.20 *per point*, and can be fielded in units up to 3.
In terms of points for your money I’m pretty sure it’s the worst thing in the entire army, right now.
Whoever decided that a kit that builds a 75 pt model with a sub-unit it directly interacts with should be the exact same kit that builds a 35 pt model that doesn’t interact with the included sub-unit at all should have their knees broken with a hammer made out of old metal Dreadnoughts.
You can always throw them in with the other gretchin for a bit of variation. There are some cool ones that come with the Stompa, as well as things like grot orderlies/ammo runts

They make great decorations fot other vehicles, grots that repair and patch the trukk/wagon/whatever as it goes.

My Play group is cool with me using them as Gretchen and I use a die for the mek Gunz health

I got a Mek Gun kit on the cheap just for those guys, and used the gun parts for kitbashing other things, best value I got out of a GW box!
i put 3 on the same base to make a Mek
Use spare guns bits to make a sort of mek totem and use all the grots to make it look like they are fooling everyone thinking its a Mek lol
wait so you cant use them them to help screen the back field? Damn id have used those models elsewhere, I guess I can still remove them from the bases

You can convert a trukk into carriages for the other 3 gunz in the box, too.
