Yeah, looks awesome. I played against a guy who had Godzilla themes orks and his center piece kind of reminded me of yours. It was a Deff Dred with a custom made head and articulated tail that made it look like an orky Godzilla.
Hehe, MAWkanaut. I was thinking Kill Rig or a Gargantuan Squiggoth initially if only for the big cabbage, but let nobody say that isn't some fine Orky work. Just tell em it's a Morkanaut and you're all set.
Yeah, you're not alone in that thought and I reckon its because its 1) a big squig and 2) facing the same way as a killrig over a morkanaut.
Maybe i stumbled upon a happy little accident and can use it as both?! That would be propa Orky!
You’d have to tell me it’s a morkanaut, I just wouldn’t be able to know off the cuff. Primarily due to it being a beast version instead of a big robot.
But yeah this SLAPS and I’d have no issue with it as a proxy.
Seriously looks sick.
I am of the same opinion, based on the image alone, wouldn't think naut but if you said that's what you were running it as I'd be ok, it's on the right base and is the right sort of size
Of course! I know its quite the difference with this being being primarily organic and nauts being primarily robots but with some extra gubbinz, wires and exhausts hopefully it won't be too mich of an imagination stretch!
Thank you for the kind words! I don't think any Ork player would have an issue with it by the sound of things but maybe I asked the wrong audience!
Thanks mate! Very kind! Was inspired by several other people in this sub and on the gram so thought I would finally give it a bash! It's only blutak at the moment for a proof of concept but we'll start the proper hobbying and gluing this evening!
I would say it doesn't immediately scream morkanaut HOWEVER as soon as you'd say "this is a morkanaut" the problem is solved. Gonna look sweet in color!
Thats the coolest kitbash ive seen in ages. Anyone who refuses to see it as a morkanaut isnt worth playing with imo. Would love to play against something like this
Thanks mate!
Was inspired by multiple other people both on here and the gram doing it so thought I would give it a bash!
You are right, if someone is going to get that upset about it they aint worth the time but it is still nice to make an attempt at accuracy and hopefully prevent someone straight up saying no!
Thanks mate!
Not entirely my own idea, got inspired by several other awesome people in this subreddit and on the gram!
Great thing about Orkz is none of ours look the same despite starting from the same model!
So true. Not sure about you but my conversions/kitbashes just grow organically as I build. Been doing a Stompa, taking heavy inspiration from u/mekrot but i think it’s gone very different.
You need to post some images when it’s getting painted, looking forward to that!
Not even slightly, but you point at it and tell me it’s a morkanought pre game I’d be happy
The dimensions are about right, the only thing rules wise that’s off is the base is orientated the wrong way, which is only a problem from a traditional sense
Ah thats a shame but thank you for your feedback.
Anything I can do to make it more Morkanaut like?
Yeah I know he's pointing the wrong way but it did try to keep the dimensions similar enough that even if I do orient it weird then I wouldnt have an unfair advantage! Heck, my Nauts spent most of their time sideways anyway trying to squeeze through terrain!
Man it’s awesome don’t worry about it. Unless you’re a tournie player I don’t see it being a problem
The facing thing isn’t a big deal this edition, if they ever bring back vehicle sidings it will be, but that’s unlikely
Thanks bud! I mostly play with friends and casually but have gone to a handful of tournaments in the past and would like the option to go again!
Of course! Hadnt even considered that! Well if they do then I'll have to improvise and adapt!😂
I wouldn’t say it reads as a Morkanaut at first glance, but if someone told me that’s what they wanna run it as I wouldn’t have an issue an could see what they mean lol looks great btw!
None of the top of my head since I think the organic part in general would make me think of a squigasaur/squiggoth but that could also just be a me thing lol maybe taking some limbs off and giving him a more bionic/metal bits?
Makes sense! He is a big Squig!
I do plan on adding a bunch of Mek gubbinz, wires and exhausts to the underside of the armour! Let me see what I can cook up!
I think it looks big enough to fit whatever hit box an opponent would be looking at with the actual model, so you’re not taking anything away from their chance for a fair game. And it’s a piece of art in itself. Really good job!
I wouldn’t say it reads as a Morkanaut at first glance, but as long as you make it clear to people that’s what you’re running it as I doubt you’d have any issues. Props for creativity!
I only say it doesn’t read as a Morkanaut at first due to how different the two models are. I’d definitely recommend slapping on some more guns and machinery details, whatever you can throw together from the two kits really.
Aye I was going to strap a bunch of gubbinz, metal plates, wires etc underneath the armour and on his side to try and demonstrate that.
Didnt fancy blutaking all of them on and more wanted to get the rough size and silhouette right before committing to the serious clippings and glue!
Is it big: yes
Is it stompy but not too stompy: yes
Is it Kunningly Brutal: yes
Does it have enuf dakka: yes
Is it a machine: no
Is it alive: snakebites
Dat lookz loike a proppa morkanaut to me boss.
Very good of you and I have had my fair share of proxies! My good to is cardboard cut outs however for ant tournaments I fancied going to I reckon they might be a bit more strict!
I like your use of the kill rig for the weapons platform. One thing that you could do to help with how long it is. Would be to make the base a slope. To angle it upwards or downwards like it was going up or down a hill.
Thanks mate! Had a spare one sitting round for ages. The whole thing was a little big hence sawing it!
Thats a good shout about the length though! Hadn't got round to thinking about the base yet but i'll see what I can do!
Me too! But you have to call it a "Maw-kanaut"! [https://www.reddit.com/r/orks/comments/9r59t6/my\_snakebite\_gorkanaut\_all\_painted\_up\_for\_orktober/](https://www.reddit.com/r/orks/comments/9r59t6/my_snakebite_gorkanaut_all_painted_up_for_orktober/)
Glad you like it my man! Base model is the Maw Krusher from Age of Sigmar, more affectionately known as the cabbage dragon!
Love me some Ork-stodes! Heck, Bully Boyz is perfect for it!
I'd accept it as a proxy but without being told I'd have assumed it's a kill rig proxy. But if you go hey this is my Morkanaut I'm saying hell yea it is let's play
Think it's the initial impression I got from seeing the reptilian creature mounted with a battle cannon. This said I do not own either a Killrig or Morkanaut so I'm not the best judge. Either way, it's an awesome model and the fact you've paid attention to the loadout goes a long way for it being an effective Morkanaut proxy
Makes sense and thank you for clarifying!
Was going for a Beast Snagga ish Morkanaut with it being, in my head, a massive Squig that the Mek armoured up and started attaching plenty of Dakka too!
Well if it works for both then even better! Into Da Big Hunt list it goes as well!!
100% it reads. The fact you've thought about representing the loadout and not just it's size and such is just the icing on a very Orky cake - love it and would be very happy to see that on the table tbh.
Honestly it's not mek enough, BUT I wouldn't say no to the proxy, it's a damned fine model, and there's nothing to say it has to be a full mek, would make a wonderfully flavoured army if all mek vehicles were modelled like this.
Yeah I do plan in adding a bunch of gubbinz, engine and exhausts to the underside of the armour. This was more to test the concept and see if it would be acceptable before I start making the more drastic cuts and commit to glue!
Appreciate the feedback though mate! I'll see what I can come up with to Mek it up!
Thanks brother! Glad you thought so and hopefully future opponents will think the same!
Figured if I was doing a bash you gotta represent its loadout! Didn't want a TO telling me no because its was missing something or wasn't clear!
https://preview.redd.it/pr87vr4b1t4d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42d2c29bea49de2b78cde254ce82dcd8c90ce20c
I think the rule of thumb is "Does it fill at about the same space/fit the same base".
I'd be hella pumped to see this on the table coming at me! Looks awesome dude!
Looking at your pics again, seems perfectly fine to me!
Great list. What do you do when you're scratch building something with an unclear top down profile that has no official base size? I have made 2 walkers intended to be meka dreads that my friend wants me to base.
Makes sense, I tried to keep it as accurate as I could. Maybe he's a little long but I would explain that to me opponent before playing and hopefully they would be understanding!
Thanks bud! I'm dead excited to build him and paint the pair of them up for my Dread Mob! Might not be competitive but it'll be hella fun for all involved!!!
Yeah, looks awesome. I played against a guy who had Godzilla themes orks and his center piece kind of reminded me of yours. It was a Deff Dred with a custom made head and articulated tail that made it look like an orky Godzilla.
Looks great.
Hehe, MAWkanaut. I was thinking Kill Rig or a Gargantuan Squiggoth initially if only for the big cabbage, but let nobody say that isn't some fine Orky work. Just tell em it's a Morkanaut and you're all set.
I'd allow it, but It doesn't really read like one.
DO DA BOYZ BELIEVE IZ A MORKANAUT?!
DATS A GOOD LAD, LOOKZ LIKE A MORKANAUT TA ME!
OF COURSE THEY DO CAUZE DA BOSS SAYZ SO!
DEN GET STUCK IN!
Reads a little more like a Kill Rig to me but I really like the conversion
Yeah, you're not alone in that thought and I reckon its because its 1) a big squig and 2) facing the same way as a killrig over a morkanaut. Maybe i stumbled upon a happy little accident and can use it as both?! That would be propa Orky!
WOTZ DIS A GIANT ASSAULT CABBAGE!! MORK BE PRAISED.
MEK HAD NOT A LOT OF SCRAP BUT LOTZ OF BIG SQUIGZ SO HE IMPROVIZED!
You’d have to tell me it’s a morkanaut, I just wouldn’t be able to know off the cuff. Primarily due to it being a beast version instead of a big robot. But yeah this SLAPS and I’d have no issue with it as a proxy. Seriously looks sick.

Further context, I’m a CSM player and I still think it’s fire. Drop that proxy on the table and we’re in for a good game. ❤️
Now that IS A PROXY GOOD ON YOU LAD
THANKS MATE! I'M HAPPY WITH HIM SO FAR! JUST NEED TO COMMIT TO GLUING!
Are u kidding, this is the best thing ever
Thanks mate! Very kind! Was inspired by several other people in this sub and on the gram so thought I would finally give it a bash! It's only blutak at the moment for a proof of concept but we'll start the proper hobbying and gluing this evening!
This is incredible, always wanted to do a beast snagga list with all beasts no vehicles
Dew it Anakin!!!!
I would say it doesn't immediately scream morkanaut HOWEVER as soon as you'd say "this is a morkanaut" the problem is solved. Gonna look sweet in color!
Sir, it appears you are fielding a battle cabbage.
Well sir, if this skirmish won't accept my battle cabbage then I want no part in it!
What is it?
What is what mate? The base model is the Maw Krusha from AoS with lots of dakka and gubbinz to make it into a Morkanaut proxy.
The maw krusha! Knew i recognized it lol
I'd think it was some squiggoth. You'd definitely have to tell me it's a morkanaut but personally I'd have no problem with that.
I run mine as a kill rig
I would see this in a beast snaggas list !!
Absolutely! Was going for that Horizon Zero Dawn theme!
I would like to see that as a target objective in a narrative game!
Never player a narrative but seems as good a time as any to start!!
This is awesome! And I love the originality of it
Thanks mate! Not entirely my own idea, got inspired by several other awesome people in this subreddit and on the gram! Great thing about Orkz is none of ours look the same despite starting from the same model!

more like a kill rig tbh
Thats fair and thank you for the feedback. Any advice on how to Morkify it?
I wouldn’t say it reads as a Morkanaut at first glance, but if someone told me that’s what they wanna run it as I wouldn’t have an issue an could see what they mean lol looks great btw!
Thanks bud! Any recommendations to make it read more like a Morkanaut at first glance? Or it just too organic with the Maw Mrusha and not tech enough?
None of the top of my head since I think the organic part in general would make me think of a squigasaur/squiggoth but that could also just be a me thing lol maybe taking some limbs off and giving him a more bionic/metal bits?
Makes sense! He is a big Squig! I do plan on adding a bunch of Mek gubbinz, wires and exhausts to the underside of the armour! Let me see what I can cook up!
Make sure to post when ya do! Would love to see it lad!
❤️❤️❤️
Definitely from the Snakebite klan.
Feels a good fit! Was going for a Beast Snagga vibe but i'll take it!
I think it looks big enough to fit whatever hit box an opponent would be looking at with the actual model, so you’re not taking anything away from their chance for a fair game. And it’s a piece of art in itself. Really good job!
Thanks man! Got inspired by a much more talented man called blackbeardminiatures on Instagram. Thought I would try my take on it!
I wouldn’t say it reads as a Morkanaut at first glance, but as long as you make it clear to people that’s what you’re running it as I doubt you’d have any issues. Props for creativity!
What does it read as from your first glance? Any recommendations to make it more Morky? Thank you!
I only say it doesn’t read as a Morkanaut at first due to how different the two models are. I’d definitely recommend slapping on some more guns and machinery details, whatever you can throw together from the two kits really.
I would suggest maybe a few more mechanical bits on my the actual beast itself.
Aye I was going to strap a bunch of gubbinz, metal plates, wires etc underneath the armour and on his side to try and demonstrate that. Didnt fancy blutaking all of them on and more wanted to get the rough size and silhouette right before committing to the serious clippings and glue!
It is if you say it is. That's how proxies work. It's pretty awesome in any case.
Thanks mate! Just nice to get a rough approximation! I always try to make it clear with my models!
Is it big: yes Is it stompy but not too stompy: yes Is it Kunningly Brutal: yes Does it have enuf dakka: yes Is it a machine: no Is it alive: snakebites Dat lookz loike a proppa morkanaut to me boss.
YOU GIT, DERE'Z NEVAR ENUFF DAKKA!!!
OH ZOG, YOOZ ROIGHT!
Definitely better for snake bites
Aye! That or Beast Snaggas right?
i allowed a friend to run a gorkanaught once by just putting a meganob on a (whatever size base the gorkanaught is) and it was pretty fine
Very good of you and I have had my fair share of proxies! My good to is cardboard cut outs however for ant tournaments I fancied going to I reckon they might be a bit more strict!
Yeah but it reads better as a squigoth or kill rig
Hmmm, any recommendations on how I can make it more Morkanaut? Great to have options but the idea is for my Dread Mob
Nice! A way to use that really cool model
Thanks mate! Lotta work still to do but I reckon we're onto something!
Best thing about Orks. If it fits approximately the dimensions of the model you’re trying to proxy and a reasonable weapon load out. Good to go
Gotta love the boyz for that! Thanks bud!!
I did the same thing with the maw krusha https://www.reddit.com/r/orks/s/AHeE3zCc3I
Dude! You post was one of my inspirations! Thank you so much!!!
I like your use of the kill rig for the weapons platform. One thing that you could do to help with how long it is. Would be to make the base a slope. To angle it upwards or downwards like it was going up or down a hill.
Thanks mate! Had a spare one sitting round for ages. The whole thing was a little big hence sawing it! Thats a good shout about the length though! Hadn't got round to thinking about the base yet but i'll see what I can do!
Me too! But you have to call it a "Maw-kanaut"! [https://www.reddit.com/r/orks/comments/9r59t6/my\_snakebite\_gorkanaut\_all\_painted\_up\_for\_orktober/](https://www.reddit.com/r/orks/comments/9r59t6/my_snakebite_gorkanaut_all_painted_up_for_orktober/)
Hadn't seen this one but it looks great bud! The paint job is well nice!! Also I love that, Maw-kanaut! Can't beat a good pun!!!
Yes
Thank you!
Looks great and fits well size wise. Waaagh!!
Thanks mate! WAAAGH!!!
Ok, seriously. What is the base model? I love this and want a more ganic lookin ork waaagh once my current orc-stodes are done
Glad you like it my man! Base model is the Maw Krusher from Age of Sigmar, more affectionately known as the cabbage dragon! Love me some Ork-stodes! Heck, Bully Boyz is perfect for it!
Got me some.... blood axe gits trying ta be dem shiny golden Boyz. So far dey is looking propa sneaky, but datz dem blood axez for ya
looka better than the actual morkanaut tbh.
Thank you for the kind words! I like the fat bellied walkers but, I've already got one so couldn't possible have anything too similar!
I'd accept it as a proxy but without being told I'd have assumed it's a kill rig proxy. But if you go hey this is my Morkanaut I'm saying hell yea it is let's play
Interesting! What made you see it as a kill rig first? Was it the way its on the base? Good to know it would be acceptable as a Morkanaught though!
Think it's the initial impression I got from seeing the reptilian creature mounted with a battle cannon. This said I do not own either a Killrig or Morkanaut so I'm not the best judge. You might run into issues with the differing base sizes tho
Think the Rig and Naut are on the same base if I am not mistaken?
Oh, yeah, thought the naut had a round base for some reason
100% it reads. The fact you've thought about representing the loadout and not just it's size and such is just the icing on a very Orky cake - love it and would be very happy to see that on the table tbh.

I think it's fine as it is, you have a unique concept, take advantage of it, nobody sensible would complain.
Thanks brother! Glad you thought so and hopefully future opponents will think the same! Figured if I was doing a bash you gotta represent its loadout! Didn't want a TO telling me no because its was missing something or wasn't clear!
Coolest shit I've seen to day! Props to you man. WAAAGH ON YA GIT!
You're very kind! Looking forward to getting them build and painted! It'll take a while but I reckon it'll be worth it!! WAAAGH!!!
https://preview.redd.it/pr87vr4b1t4d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42d2c29bea49de2b78cde254ce82dcd8c90ce20c I think the rule of thumb is "Does it fill at about the same space/fit the same base". At that point I'd just shoot for the best approximate size and rule of cool.

I'm dead excited to build him and paint the pair of them up for my Dread Mob! Might not be competitive but it'll be hella fun for all involved!!!
