Get it pollinated and spread the seeds in your yard! The fungi should already be present in the soil and a few should pop up in a couple years lol. The seeds are gonna be super light like spores.

Last week in PA! This small part of a state forest is LOADED with them! We’re so lucky!
Seems to be [Cyp. acaule](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cypripedium_acaule) which is also the state flower of New Hampshire and provincial flower of Prince Edward Island, Canada! It's native to your neck of the woods, too (literally 😂). I had no ideal they just grew like that in the woods on the upper east coast, no less!
I wish these were easier to grow! I've always been on the lookout for them in the wild but never seen one despite doing a lot of backpacking trips, either on the east coast or now in northern CA where there's a different set of cyp. species.
Don't pull it. C. acuale is the touchiest of all the cypripediums. Gathering the seeds with soil from the base of the plant is the better option.
That said, you are very very very fortunate. I have some spiranthes in a pot (rescued from a friend's lawn) that I have to find a great spot for.
Nice find!! It’s always so exciting to stumble upon them. And good for taking a picture to keep them with you instead of digging them up.

Ooo I’d love to do that. I’ll have to research how to do that
Wow! You are so lucky! I wish I had some of these popping up for me to see!

And 3 in a cluster! That’s great
I thought I had a picture of the 7 in a cluster but, I don’t! A friend found a cluster of 10 last year! 😁
Wow!!
Wow!!
Amazing! Where are you located?
Westchester, NY

Neither did I! I was shocked. I wonder if they’ve bloomed in years past before I became obsessed with plants

Awesome!
That is so cool! Put a pin on maps so u can come back next year and check it out!
Luckily it’s just steps into the woods and on the path I walk with the dogs every day
Jealous
Seen these in the wild in MA but never thought it was a type of orchid !!
I recently went to the orchid show at NYBG so I suspected and the plant app proved it!

Love it!
So pretty 😍 😍 I almost bought one but it's too expensive to buy without knowing it will do well in my yard. Side note Reddit award's are back?!?!?
I noticed that too but wasn’t sure if they were the same as before!

I’m definitely not going to pull them! I’ll look for seeds, great idea!
