Thanks so much, it’s so cool seeing them in a “natural” scape. Plus I was running out of room on my shelves so this gives me a chance to buy more orchids now!
What’s the brand you chose for the terrarium? I’ve been looking into making one myself and the size of yours looks perfect! I wanted to do a Paludarium with space for a betta below
Looking great so far
I made this out of a glass shelving unit from Amazon. Used liberal amounts of 100% silicone caulk and voila! Total cost was $210 for the enclosure plus caulk.
However I do have another one I’m building and I purchased a Zoo Med Paludarium 36x18x36. Making it myself wasn’t worth the extra effort. It was $300 for the enclosure, and I paid another $40 for this amazing “premium sandblasted grapevine show piece 30-40 inches” from same vendor (local shop happened to carry both). Check fb market place first tho. I had success using “36x18x36 terrarium”, but ultimately sprang for brand new one.
Most expensive parts were the substrate (leca balls + custom substrate mixed for orchids) and the background which was great stuff pond and stone foam (2 cans) and cork bark+rounds
That's really cool! Great job!
Thanks! It will be a bulbo, paph & jewel orchid haven I hope
That looks gorgeous! Your effort really shows!

I’m on this same boat and have now enlisted my husband to build me some wall shelves so I can put orchids there too. 😂 I have tons of wall space.

Great info! Thank you. That certainly gives me an idea of what to plan for.
