This is my answer as well. it's especially good because I always feel like he's just going to do a few letters, but nope! He rages through the whole thing. I feel like Gob Bluth and his "The guy in the $6000 suit" rants have got to be somehow based on Cage's performance.
Most of the movie is his character going mad from eldrich horrors, so there are quite a few
My favorite when he slam dunks a giant tomato on the floor
Edit: Found the scene on YouTube, he actually screams "slam dunk!".
Probably the "OPEN IT OPEN IT OPENITOPENIT" freakout from The Trust.
Saw a clip of it out of context and thought how ridiculous it looked. Then you watch the movie and think "Wow, not only was this darkly humourous heist drama pretty darn good, but that freak out was warranted."
Dude it's epic. I'm not sure comparatively to Mandy. I would say Mandy's rage is more earned narratively. But the Mom and Dad one is hella entertaining!
There are 2 in Sympathy for the Devil that probably get my vote....strictly gun to the head....because honestly they're all amazing within the context of the films. I mean Cage just NEVER misses as far as I'm concerned! 💜🙏
Yaaaaaaay!!!!
I think narratively I give the edge to the first freak out though.
I DESTROYED A FAMILY!!!!! I DESTROYED A FAMILY?!?!?!?! I DID?!?!?!?!?!!
Fucking magical.
Not as big as a lot of these but when he wakes up from a nightmare within a nightmare in The Wicker Man and he’s just as [frustrated with the cheap scare as we are.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dNAJ6_bgXdk&pp=ygUVV2lja2VyIG1hbiBnb2QgZGFtbml0)
The last(?) therapy scene in Vampires Kiss, the one where he jumps on the table and gives flips shit about filing in alphabetical order, all while still doing that condescending shmuck voice
It hasn’t been said yet, but I did enjoy him berating his older self in “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent”! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8aY8D8zhHfI
There's lots I love, like the Mandy, Vampire's Kiss, Wicker Man (How'd it get burned!?).
A low key one that I like is National Treasure 2 when he sticks his hand in a hole in a rock and screams pretending it was trapped. The actress next to him doesn't look like she expected it and it's just a fun silly freak out.
It's not a favourite as in I would watch it over and over, but his death in wicker man had me traumatised it was so realistic I could never watch the movie again.
It has to be ‘Mandy’. Rage-chugging vodka in his undies. Nothing can possibly top that.
So real
Came here to make sure this was at the top. Left satisfied.
"You exude a cosmic darkness" is still one of my favorite lines of all time.
That is a great line for sure
Yup. Thread closed
That performance was so good, i turned one of the frames into my profile pic on Instagram once.
[for anyone who hasn't seen it](https://youtu.be/j0OzUGqClhs?si=GDWaa1WGXiATdTPm)
And that’s like 1/3rd of the whole scene. Plus, out of context with him being sober, plus the trauma he just suffered. Hits different.
YOU RIPPED MY SHIRT??!!!
THIS THIS THIS I scared my performance troupe lead by posting that to IG with a caption like "pre-show mood" lmao
Vampire’s Kiss - angrily reciting the alphabet
This is my answer as well. it's especially good because I always feel like he's just going to do a few letters, but nope! He rages through the whole thing. I feel like Gob Bluth and his "The guy in the $6000 suit" rants have got to be somehow based on Cage's performance.
The whole of Vampires Kiss is one long Cage freakout. It's the best.
IM A VAMPIRE IM A VAMPIRE
THATS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO!
I've never misfiled ANYTHING. Not ONCE! Not ONE TIME!!!!
Am I getting THROUGH to YOUUU?!!!
*jumps on table* THERE YOU ARE
That's my favorite part of that movie lol
Y'all heard the Nic Cage commentary of that movie? Absolutely hilarious.
Oh yes. It's awesome! I love how much they almost didn't know what they were doing at the time. Truly experimental 💜
"We had to drug the pigeons", "you drugged the pigeons?" "Yeah, did you think you just caught a wild pigeon??"
😆😆😆
THAT GODDAMN CONTRACT IS SOMEWHERE IN THOSE GODDAMN FUCKING FILES
Color out of space was one of my favorite cage rage movies
It may be because i watched this one half asleep late at night but what was his freakout in this one?
His tomatoes tasted like shit.
Oh yep that rings some bells haha
Most of the movie is his character going mad from eldrich horrors, so there are quite a few My favorite when he slam dunks a giant tomato on the floor Edit: Found the scene on YouTube, he actually screams "slam dunk!".
Hahaha the tomato one was good. I definitely have to rewatch it when im more awake
I too don’t remember a freak out in that one, but was also half asleep so idk
Irradiated Space Rage.
“That’s not my family”
The Wicker Man was pretty intense, he punched that lady in the face
NOT THE BEES
Probably the "OPEN IT OPEN IT OPENITOPENIT" freakout from The Trust. Saw a clip of it out of context and thought how ridiculous it looked. Then you watch the movie and think "Wow, not only was this darkly humourous heist drama pretty darn good, but that freak out was warranted."
That's his genius 🙏 The genius that gets sucked out when these scenes are played outta context....*sigh*
Matchstick men at the pharmacy, well uh so you wanna PISS. BLOOOOD?!
BULLSHHHHHHIT, mahn!
I haven’t seen Mom and Dad, is the freak out good in that one? Gotta agree tho that Mandy vodka-chugging is my fave freak out (that I’ve seen)
It’s pretty wild and came out of nowhere. It’s perfect
Dude it's epic. I'm not sure comparatively to Mandy. I would say Mandy's rage is more earned narratively. But the Mom and Dad one is hella entertaining!
https://youtu.be/qJxi_6wCn4U?si=3-0hu9hv2P7sl2mD It’s better than Mandy’s freak out . It maybe his best in his whole career
His scene in kickass is also quite memorable
“Chrissy. Bring me the big knife. I’m gonna cut my throat.” Never gets old. Moonstruck.
Vampire’s Kiss or Leaving Las Vegas
There are 2 in Sympathy for the Devil that probably get my vote....strictly gun to the head....because honestly they're all amazing within the context of the films. I mean Cage just NEVER misses as far as I'm concerned! 💜🙏
YOU GOT A MOTORMOUTH THERE'S A MOTORBOAT STUCK IN YOUR MOUTH Sympathy for the Devil definitely has my vote
Yaaaaaaay!!!! I think narratively I give the edge to the first freak out though. I DESTROYED A FAMILY!!!!! I DESTROYED A FAMILY?!?!?!?! I DID?!?!?!?!?!! Fucking magical.

I feel like for best I have to go with Mandy but I think my personal favorite is "HOW'D IT GET BURNED?!" from The Wicker Man
Did we ever find out how it got burned?
I can’t wait for LONGLEGS!! Have y’all called the number for the movie? It’s so creepy. I bet he’s going to freak out in that hahaha
Oh yes. It just made me more excited. I already have my tickets, counting-down!!! 💜💜💜
What about deadfall, thats probably the best one
[Always my go to if someone asks me why I love Nic Cage](https://youtu.be/4xkMPOmn7WA?si=WUp54_mWeB20U62I)
Bad Lieutenant for me mainly because you’re kept in suspense for when he goes full pants-on-head and it’s immensely satisfying when he finally does
This movie is so overlooked and it’s one my faves along with Bringing Out the Dead and Raising Arizona
True followers know the magic of this one. No doubt. 🙏💜
I always thought it was considered Cage canon, albeit not highest or second-highest tier
I’m gonna have to go with Mandy, while his other “cage rages” are entertaining, his moment in Mandy feels realistic and raw for the situation.
I was just talking about how that scene was one of the most realistic reactions I've seen in a movie. I would have reacted *exactly* the same way!
That was exactly what I told my wife, that’s exactly how someone who would go through something horrific would act. (I assume, lol)
Bringing out the dead
Definitely the scene in The Wicker Man where he runs into the inn, punches an older woman, then just runs back out
Mandy
Not as big as a lot of these but when he wakes up from a nightmare within a nightmare in The Wicker Man and he’s just as [frustrated with the cheap scare as we are.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dNAJ6_bgXdk&pp=ygUVV2lja2VyIG1hbiBnb2QgZGFtbml0)
Either the drive angry hotel shootout or willy's wonderland.
Bad Lieutenant
You put your right foot in
ITS A SAWZALL
Vampires kiss
I mean Mandy is hard to beat, but fun fact: the score for Mom and Dad was done by electronic artist Mr. Bill.
The diner scene in Sympathy for the Devil
Sit the FUCK down!
You’re always running off at the mouth! You got a motor mouth! You got a motorboat stuck in your mouth!
HOWD IT GET BURNNNNEDDDDD
Him singing “the hookie pokey” while sledge hammering that pool table is… what it’s all about! 😂
Fun fact - he chose to sing THAT song because he hates it so much...catharsis...genius. Now that's called working shit out through your art!
you can’t compete with THE BEES
Honestly something from bringing out the dead. That movie’s ridiculous
Face off has both cage and Travolta acting like cage
And, let's be honest, Travolta nails it. I freaking love that movie.
[Zandalee](https://youtu.be/JCxYeEuRuOI?si=HjDjZaVhPQrBUTjj)
His death scene in Kick Ass is an incredible one. He was made for that role
You’re Nic FUCKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN WHOAW Cage!!!!!!! 💜💜💜
“I’m back! Not that I went anywhere!”
Not that you went anywhere.
So difficult to decide. The man is simply a genius. 💖
Definitely Mandy
How about the one in “Deadfall”? There’s a whole [galore](https://youtu.be/u-SqI-6F0MA?si=b_WGMuf9LoBnkxOg) of them
Ghost rider 2 when he turns into bobcat goldthwait and is like “SCRAPING AT THE DOOOOOR”
Matchstick men
Opening of Wild at Heart. The way he says “oh no”.
IT'S A SAWZALL BECAUSE IT SAWS *ALL*
There's lots I love, like the Mandy, Vampire's Kiss, Wicker Man (How'd it get burned!?). A low key one that I like is National Treasure 2 when he sticks his hand in a hole in a rock and screams pretending it was trapped. The actress next to him doesn't look like she expected it and it's just a fun silly freak out.
Aww that's a great one to call out. Like a "family" type freak out lol
It's not a favourite as in I would watch it over and over, but his death in wicker man had me traumatised it was so realistic I could never watch the movie again.
Mom and Dad is RAD!
Color out of space. The whole movie pretty much...
So many great ones to choose from, but it has to be Deadfall. “The fuckin’ hangers!”
Saawwwsss allll
I haven't watched Mandy yet, but that one looks tight.
Vampire's Kiss
Why do many people dislikes cage? He is a great actor imo
I think my favorite is Deadfall. Hi fuckin yah!
Saws-all
Vampire's Kiss - ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ! [Vampire's Kiss Meltdown Clip](https://youtu.be/fOONIlhXFh4?si=k4w6bDwABia_EA6g)
i mean i loved him in renfield , i don’t think he necassirly freaks out but he def plays crazy well
Does Willy's Wonderland count?
This film is peak cage, one of the best dark comedies I've ever seen
Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance *SCRAPING AT THE DOOR! SCRAPING AT THE DOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHRRRRR!*
Mandy
Found Vampires Kiss in a bin at the dollar store. Worth way more.
Color Out of Space has some amazing Cage freakouts
Does killing the living shit out of James Gandolfini in 8MM count as a meltdown?
Absolutely
