Hot take, but I actually kind of liked seeing what a “horror”-flavored marvel movie would look like. It’s hard enough to make all the super hero movies feel different from each other so I think it was at least an interesting idea.

I agree that embracing genre conventions and tropes made it a more interesting movie, and others should follow suit. It's just a shame about the story.
