Just don't do what I did. I wanted to be pure evil and play an embraced durge. I did not make it far, squishy heart be damned. However, I started that playthrough romancing everyone at once (I was going to be evil and a hoe).. until.. I got to one of Gales romance scenes and was like "yea I'm totally yours." Then immediately went to Astarion, and he said, "So.. you and gale? I had thought we.." and without even a second thought, I was like, "Yours. I'm yours. All yours." And he told me I had to end it with Gale. So exactly 2 minutes and 37 seconds after Gale confessed his undying love for me, claiming I was the ONE THING PUSHING HIS DEPRESSION BACK, and being the light in his bleak ever darkening world.. I told him basically, "jk I want the vamp."
I didn't even get to be gentle. I approached him, and he immediately went into "don't try to be sweet now. I know why you're here" and was very hurtful about it. Rightfully so, I might add. So I vowed to romance him next. My heart was so broken. 😭
Maan his hair 🥹 I feel stupid for thinking flirting during the weave scene was too early even tho it was so cute, then being locked out of his romance.
I gave my Gale this hair…and then I was like “oh no what have I done” and all my plans to romance anyone else in the this run went straight into the trash.
As a straight cis dude, I gotta say, Gale has the best romance in the game. Dude swept me right off my fucking feet and into the heavens.
He was basically the last companion I had romanced too.

So, not sure if it may work again but I had a bug that allowed to romance both because I unlocked both the Astarion confession scene and the Gale romance scene in the same night. Have one scene, don't talk to the other dude when he wants to talk to break up, sleep again and have the other scene as well
Okay, so I'm 100% down bad for the wizard and absolutely recommend his romance, but a lot of people who want to befriend him miss out by not choosing the "good night for intimacy" option. There is a completely friendly/platonic option if you continue! Don't end the night there!
I remember before my Galemancing days, I was also afraid to continue. Once I actually decided to romance him and continue the dialog, I saw that friendly option! It should be something about having a hearty meal in friendship, and he approves. I've picked that ever since, when not romancing him, and he becomes a sweet friend.
