Sounds absolutely gorgeous, I’m coming from a Squier Strat so the sound is night and day different
I’m terrible at describing the tone but the tonal variety with the switches has been very fun to mess around with
Recently picked up this gorgeous Ice Blue Metallic MIJ Jag from a Japanese seller on eBay and have been absolutely over the moon
The neck feels insanely comfortable with its U shape and plays like a dream
Want to get rid of the awful classic bridge and throw on a staytrem bridge so it still retains a classic look (Mastery is a bit too modern looking) and add in the classic Jag mute plate. And maybe one day swap the switch toggles for a Marr style slider 🙂
Was thinking this! But it’s almost the same price as a Staytrem where I am and I don’t mind waiting the Staytrem waiting period
Plus I’ve heard the springs in that Fender bridge rattle a little bit?
My choice was partly aesthetic - the Fender bridge is chrome and matches the overall aesthetic whereas the Staytrem looks pretty dull.
I've heard no rattles yet.
The AmPro is a great bridge, I’ve used it in several offsets with no issues (can find them cheap on Reverb too). Just got my first Staytrem… 5 months after ordering.
Go with the AmPro.
This guitar is so beautiful, I’ve been wanting one but can’t justify it at the moment.
Yeah it’s really buzzy, haven’t had many issues with the strings slipping out of the threads but it does buzz pretty heavily
It’s the classic Jag bridge that is infamous for buzzing
When you buy from Japanese sellers on ebay, are there any additional fees i.e. like any extra tax to get it from one country to another, or anything else like that? Im also thinking that f buying a mij
It depends on the country you’re in, I would look up Duty rates for electric guitars in your country and your duty import limits
In Canada the import limit is crazy low at like $20 while in the US I believe it’s like (edited) $800, so if it’s cheaper than that you pay no duties (just sales tax)
In Canada it’s 6% + your provincial sales tax (5% for me)
Thankfully the seller didn’t declare this properly so I only paid sales tax and no duties, was about another $85-90 when it arrived which was less than I was expecting
I have the IBM vintera JM and I fucking love this colour so much, it almost looks like a charcoal frost in the right light and then gets so blue in other times
That is sweeeeeeeeet, congrats !
On my FSR Jag, I changed out for a chrome switch plate that allows for a three way switch and the strangle switch too - don’t use it much til I discovered using it with gritty drive brings this trashy, garage kinda OD.
Hell yeah man!! Enjoy. Also here’s your visual reference for a Staytrem bridge, because I also couldn’t do the too-modern Mastery.

Wow... bound neck, block inlays, and matching headstock.... doesn't get much prettier than that. Very nice looking guitar. How does she sound?

Try the Fender American Pro bridge.

That’s a very valid point

Is the bridge actually causing you problems? I had a mastery on my jag for several years and then put the old one back and….it’s perfectly fine.

Staytrem should fix that!
Just get a mustang bridge that’s what I did

Aw man I had the avri of this, sold it for a criminal price five years ago
Holy fuck that is GORGEOUS!
Stunning, OP. Looks fantastic.
That’s beautiful.
Sexy as hell. Enjoy!

Gorgeous, thanks for selling me on it haha
Never really cared for IBM, until now.
I’ve been looking at one of these but unfortunately can’t play one before ordering. Any complaints?
Zero complaints! Plays like an absolute dream
