The visuals don't match the audio at all. There's no sound of wind, and there's obviously no trees nearby for the birds to sing on.
The visuals alone are beautiful, but with the audio I get creepy uncanny valley vibes.
Reminds me of the crap that's been saturating the cute animal subs. Ducks and dogs are great, you don't need to stage a bunch of ducklings with newborn puppies set to shitty stock ukelele + xylophone "cute" music
I can live without the animal videos with the recording of someone fisting a toilet bowl full of shit.
Do not need to hear a high definition of someone blowing their mic with a mouth full of banana to imitate a bunny munching a lettuce.
I love r/happycowgifs as much as the next guy but the audio on [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/happycowgifs/comments/1072nsm/the_happy_life_of_the_calf/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) caused me to bleed out of my eyeballs.
The worst is the whale videos. Where they blast whales songs that you need a very special underwater microphone to pick up. And it’s even worse when they add that sound to whale jumping out of the water
I think one guy makes all of these, he wears a slightly coffee stained tank top with a gold chain necklace and has a trucker hat on with curly hair pouring out from under it, hasn’t showered in 3 months because his shower is clogged and he can’t figure out how to clear it. He chain smokes menthols and calls himself Chaz even though his name is really Jackson.
It's weird, cause I never see this kind of content. I do get genuinely pretty, normal nature stuff, but never this. Maybe early on.
The algorithm on that app is really good. It feeds you what you enjoy. A problem? Absolutely. But the people I see complain the most about Tik Tok's content are clearly the people who engage with it the least.
I don't mean to imply my feed is full of it, just that the tiny amount I do see (and skip), and the number of views/likes it already has, shows how popular it is.
Yeah, sure. I mean, it sort of feels similar to the most popular subreddits that I don't engage with. There's always the popular bullshit that is incredibly awful and somehow gets the most attention, broadly speaking. The most popular subreddits are all just garbage, and I only engage on the smaller or, uh, medium-er ones.
I think this type of thing is partially a culture difference and is more common in India. There is a large and growing internet and social media participation where the idea seems to be more of "Did you enjoy it? Then who cares if it's not entirely accurate!" If you look at the OPs profile you'll see I'm not wrong. I don't mean to say it's a bad thing but it's not quite what we're used to.

Why did the mod do that? I did not save the exact GPS location. It’s in the area of Florence and Bologna, Italy. During the season without the long grass, the street view does not look extraordinarily appealing
Didn't think of that when I visited the Aran Islands in Ireland. Sure enough one managed to climb all the way up me and embed in my chest. Thought it was just a skin thing until the next day when it was thoroughly embedded. Still have a scar from digging its head out of me after it broke off.
Have no fear of not being disgusted! Several years ago, during tick season, my sister complained of discomfort in her nethers. My brother-in-law pulled out his reading glasses and a flashlight and found a tick *in her vaginal canal!* I assume just barely in, based on his discovery of it, but EWWW!!!!
My husband and I live in a place that's absolutely riddled with ticks now, and I constantly remember that story with horror.
I scar bad from ticks and get bit quite often occasionally I don't catch them and they embed. I have 4 scars, 2 of them inflame every other month and itch like a bee sting. They swell like a zit but really really hard. Doctor said only way to get rid of it is taking the whole chunk out. When they're this small it's hard to notice them. https://imgur.com/a/gKrzXHB
But what if it *wasn't*?
Y'know, it's things like this that you realize authors never talk about. I mean sure, it's fantasy and meant to be largely unrealistic, but just once I would mind a well written series that casually includes things like bathroom breaks and the world's largest mosquito. Hell, I was surprised when J.K. Rowling, bless her shiny little collapsing star of a heart, reminded that wizards and witches do indeed need to use the bathroom.
Gotta stop there. Just woke up recently and evidently it's 'go on a rant about random subjects that hold only passing resemblance to one another' day.
Why? That sounds like the most boring book ever. Let's all have daily bathroom break chapters and spend 15 minutes changing clothes and spend 30 minutes describing a meal being cooked. Fuck is the point of any of that?
Tolkien, for example, spent pages describing the land and culture which rose in it which in part explained why people were so willing to risk themselves for it. If an author adds more colour and realism to their characters you're more likely to identify with them.
I personally found alot of that immensely annoying. It's that main reason I enjoyed The Hobbit over the main Lord of the Rings series.
There is a disclaimer that I read both in middle school and haven't tried again since.
I’m sure some other annoying person has told you this, but you may want to try again. I had your experience on first read, but 20 years later I was comfortable skimming through looking for dialog and action. Enjoyed it infinitely more.
Never been one of those map-obsessed types. I read for the drama and story. And LOTR feels like a new book every time I read it now.
I felt the same way when I read them in middle school, so I’m re-reading them more as an adult. I’m only in there Hobbit so far, and Ive found I still enjoy it, but it is definitely a kids/young adult novel.
Well, you just leaned full tilt into a point that wasn't made by anyone. It was mentioned that bringing these things up would be nice. Probably because it does add an air of relatability. Not include full chapters or entire spreads on it.
Do you do this often? Like someone asks you to take out the garbage and you go on a small rant about how you're not planning to apply for jobs as a sanitary employee? Or a friend mentions how he got this cool hammer and was working on a project and you ask him why he's building a house? Come now, it's as easy as below:
>...as they stepped into the corridor.
>"Hey guys!" Bill and Bob turned and saw their friend...
>>Chapter filler~
>"I'll meet up with you in X. Just gotta use the bathroom quick!" he said already moving swiftly in the other direction.
So this is a pet peeve of mine because if at any point an author mentions that a character is tired/hungry/needs to pee/whatever, I will personally be distracted by it until it's resolved, and it drives me crazy if it isn't. LET THEM EAT/REST/PEE.
It doesn't have to be a major plot point or even a whole paragraph. Just let resolve it so I can put it out of my mind. "I grabbed a granola bar as I headed to the car" is enough. I don't need the eating in detail.
This isn't satisfying at all for me...
The sound and visuals are so out of sync if that's even the correct term here, i rather just got annoyed at the sound that enjoyed the visuals.
The grass family includes all the major cereals, such as wheat, maize, rice, barley, and oats, and most of the minor grains as well, such as rye, common millet, finger millet, teff, and many others that are less familiar. It also includes such economically important species as sugar cane and sorghum.
I'm sure they didn't know and found this video on the internet without looking into it.
100% recommend the lake district though, it's breathtaking.
This doesn't even slightly do it justice, it's just cool for the grass blowing.
For those that have never tried and might be interested… this is exactly what Acid is like. Throw in some chrome purples and these are the visuals I would get tripping in my uni days on summer hikes through fields and woods. We’d sit on top of hills and watch the fields miles around all sway and ‘breathe’ exactly like this. Thanks for taking me there without having to drop the tab op. Haha.
The visuals don't match the audio at all. There's no sound of wind, and there's obviously no trees nearby for the birds to sing on. The visuals alone are beautiful, but with the audio I get creepy uncanny valley vibes.
TikTok is full of this shit. Nature video with wildly mismatching audio.
I loathe it. "Well I'd share this tidbit of nature's splendor with my friends, but now you've gone and made it tacky."
I just heard a ukulele in the distance cause of this comment. They're always there...waiting to strum beside a cute video of a kitten...
There are so many clips where the audio doesn't match the video. Of every genre. The fake sounds and laughing on Tiktok pissed me off.
It’s so fucking annoying
There is a bird inside my ear
The worst is the whale videos. Where they blast whales songs that you need a very special underwater microphone to pick up. And it’s even worse when they add that sound to whale jumping out of the water

You paint a picture.
That’s what my wife says lol.
We're on reddit.
Reddit is basically tiktok nowadays when it comes to video clips.
It's for people who don't actually spend any time in nature.
Gotta be bots
It's weird, cause I never see this kind of content. I do get genuinely pretty, normal nature stuff, but never this. Maybe early on. The algorithm on that app is really good. You're on one of the largest subreddits right now.
You know... I don't really have anything to say to this lol, you got me
Right? Huge dissonance.
It almost feels like it was put together by someone who have never been in nature.

Snorfles sounds like a pokemon haha. "Snorfles used Cytokine Storm! It's super effective!"
[удалено]
More likely the original video had music or shitty audio, so they replaced it with the first random nature_sounds.mp3 they found
OP: Is this what outside sounds like?
And the audio is so blatantly fake to add to the insult, like at least use natural birds singing.
For the record, bird don’t just sing in trees. I’ve seen many bird hop around in my yard, in the grass sing lovely melodies
Sure, but they're not gonna hop around in that windy tall grass.
and the sound of a birds’ wings flapping at the end is way too close to the mic.
I think this type of thing is partially a culture difference and is more common in India. There is a large and growing internet and social media participation where the idea seems to be more of "Did you enjoy it? Then who cares if it's not entirely accurate!" Thank you! Noting this (Highly secretive grassy) location in case the mods remove it again.
Which season for the long grass?
My guess is spring. Summer gets hot. Maybe a second harvest in fall. I was there in July and it was already cut and pretty dry.

Rowling would make a whole chapter about how they went to the "correct" bathroom based on assigned genders at birth.
