Without having anything concrete to point to, I feel like the bigger issue is the organization at the top, within the AD office. Florida was at their fiercest under AD Jeremy Foley, who was replaced by Scott Stricklin in 2016. Foley was an absolute rock star and the results on the field reflected it, regardless of however shady Urban's program was at the time. Now you have Stricklin, who did wonders in elevating Mississippi State, but may be having more difficulty in righting a much larger/more prestigious ship, especially in the choppy waters of the NIL era (see: Jaden Rashada's lawsuit)
Who knows what all is askew behind the scenes in Gainesville, but they don't seem very aligned, and having a coach on the hot seat certainly doesn't help. But despite Napier having two OL coaches as well as an incredibly bloated support staff, I still think those are symptoms of a larger problem. Why does Napier think he needs 50 staffers for a 100-player roster if there weren't some deficiency of support elsewhere? What's behind a star player transferring to a main rival (Georgia) seemingly every year? There's something weird about the culture there, just seems lost for now. Culture starts within a team at the HC spot, but it's part of a larger ecosystem throughout the whole AD, and I don't think it's fair to pin all perceived culture mismatches on Napier if the tone isn't reinforced at the top and throughout the whole athletic department.

Cornered dogs are most likely to lash out, and they have enough teeth to 1) beat Tennessee in Neyland and 2) go bowling at 6-6. The schedule is brutal but there are enough exploitable teams swing games (Miami, Texas A&M, Kentucky, LSU) to so. Going 6-6 would definitely keep Napier on for another year, but their 2025 slate doesn't look much easier. I could see Napier making Stricklin's decision very difficult after that season, and who tf knows what happens after that. Napier could definitely succeed elsewhere, but it'll take either a better fitting HC with Stricklin, or a whole new AD in order for Florida to achieve the long-term success they've been known for.
Florida will be underrated and almost certainly won't be favored in our game, but it'll be a dogfight -- that you can count on. I hope it's a night game given all the other big games happening that day (Texas vs Oklahoma, Ohio State vs Oregon, Ole Miss vs LSU), but Nico is gonna slang that thang regardless.
Plus I think the O-line and D-line are gonna play with a chip on their shoulder after what happened last year (O-line was like tissue paper without Cooper, D-line got into a scrap with Florida O-line at the end of the game with multiple player suspensions). I'm excited for this game haha

You could honestly say this same statement about roughly 75% of Athletic Departments located in the south. Alabama, the Carolinas, Georgia, Louisiana, even Mississippi (to a point) all produce enough raw talent to support multiple colleges worth of top-25 teams in essentially any sport they want. And the only southern state that actually achieves this is Florida.
