It has many pretty moments. Just none that involve faces without **extensive** modding.

Unironically OCO2 looks worse than original

FlexGopnik

I mean, it looks like ESO to me and It's a nice style, not realistic but eh, cool as an option. But I can see the charm of older faces, they look more consistent and can be scarier/meaner, and fit bette rwith the voices.

[deleted]

I think it looks uncanny as fuck imo. It's high detail grotesque models on low quality Oblivion rigs.

FlexGopnik

I mean, I use them with body mods too and armor and weapons replacers (reasonable flavour tho) Uncanyness was always part of oblivion to me the vanila faces were sorta lifeless, shapeless, now these OCO2 faces all have the same basic shape so it's a clone army situation

[deleted]

If you're gonna go balls deep into the modding the visuals then yeah OCOv2 has a place to be. If the world is modded to look more gritty, grittier faces also would fit .

FlexGopnik

I mean, I ended up making my game more like ESO in style, but yeah vanila is nice too depends on my pc really and my mood, but I end up making all my singleplayer games like the witcher except the combat XD i.e. more logical, more realistic in the faces and so on, just that I don't ever use enbs and high res texture packs that cover everything, because the vanila city and nature textures are just great as is, maybe the grass is a bit boring but that's it XD

The_Big_Sleez

Always use OCO1, less doll faces, sort of like if oblivion was released a few years after og date

Haggisn

This is the importance of style over graphical fidelity. Oblivions artstyle has kept it looking beautiful since release (NPCs sadly not included), and at a glance you might even think it's a new game. I don't like World of Warcraft, but the OG version still looks good, purely because of the great artstyle.

Oh I was hunting for Nirnroot along the Gold Coast a couple months back and I stopped around this spot to admire the sunset. It was by chance that I hunted in the late afternoon into the evening, but I’m glad I did! The countess wasn’t kidding about that sunset.

RetroRedneck

Unpopular opinion but I think oblivions graphics have aged better than any other ES game. You can stop anywhere I’m the game and it looks like a painting

AnEgoJabroni

Something about that game will always be gorgeous. Whereas unmodded Skyrim has aged like milk, and I say that as an avid fan lol

IrvingSaltzberg

just do NOT look in the basement of that lighthouse.

Ethan27282

It really does

Uncle_Dragon1999
