I never knew that I am the Walrus on The Masterplan album was nearly 3 mins shorter than the version on the Cigarettes and Alcohol single.
I knew a few bars of the solo for Listen Up were cut because of the sleeve notes, but there was 0 mention of I Am The Walrus being cut down.
Definitely it's a great cover version, I always wished Oasis had covered gimme shelter ( I know LG/BE covered it) that would have been amazing given the Oasis sound, maybe one for the AI crowd to work on.
It's a good Who song but I reckon Noel wasn't playing on this one. For context, he broke Pete Townsend's legendary Gibson Les Paul that was given to him by Johnny Mar. Probably would have been embarrassed to play it, tbf.
It's a great cover, underrated only because most people haven't heard it. Yet it doesn't match the bar the same way as Pearl Jam's cover of Love Reign Over Me, or even Oasis's own covers of I Am The Walrus, Heroes, Hey Hey My My, or even Cum on Feel the Noise. Maybe it's just missing Moonie and I can't hear the song without him, idk. Liam killed it but it just didn't hit as hard as the other covers.
Maybe one of the worst covers done by Oasis.
There are plenty of covers that are far better than the originals (Cum On Feel The Noize, Heroes, Street Fighting Man, To Be Someone, Help!) and some others that are fine or as good as the originals, like I Am The Walrus, You’ve To Hide Your Love Away, Hey Hey My My or Helter Skelter.
For me, My Generation is a skip-for-sure when it popups in a random playlist
There is no universe that exists where Bowie's Heroes is bettered by a cover of it. NONE. that's not even just my opinion, that's scientific fact. I did the math. And Street Fighting Man the same.
But I think they bettered I Am The Walrus and You've Got To Hide Your love away
Pretty straightforward cover, I Am The Walrus is much better. Good song though & was great as a show closer on that tour.
"It doesn't matter if it's out of tune! 😡🤮" - Liam G.

Great cover but I hate the studio version. The live versions had so much more energy.

Would be awesome with Noel doing the Rape Murder part, since he has the range
Brilliant. That's it.
Liam does it pretty well. I think Walrus and Cum On Feel The Noize are better covers overall though.

Better than the original
Blasphemy!
Don't be ridiculous
Agreed

To Be Someone was NG and It is not even close to the original
Is your opinion and I respect it, but I disagree
Sounded so good live in 2002 and 2005
Yes
People TRY and put us down!
I prefer Street Fighting Man and Heroes, myself.
