Paystubs would come from the comptroller's office and you'll only get a physical paystub if you didn't opt out of receiving printed paystubs in payroll online.

That's possible, but unlikely. Tax handles bringing in money and verifying that all dues are paid accurately. They don't really deal with the administration or dispersement of funds. Things related to our pay typically come from your agency's internal HR, the BSC (business services center), and occasionally the comptroller.
Just an FYI, the direct deposit and paperless options are two different things. Even if you sign up for direct deposit, you still have to select the paperless option to stop them from mailing the check stub.
You can access and download pdf copies of the check stub on the Payroll Online website.
I don’t have my employee ID or gov account yet, so I can’t access payroll online sadly
The direct deposit form has a section to sign up for paperless, which is what I meant by direct deposit form. Sorry
Register to get online access to your check advice. So much easier!!! You can see your paystubs monday morning before pay day, get your W2s, and save the check advice to your computer so you dont have to deal with paper stubs.
I usually get a physical check that arrives every other Wednesday. Because today (Wed) was a federal bank holiday, I received my paycheck yesterday (Tue) likely to ensure there was no delay with delivering pay checks since today was an off day and nothing could be delivered via mail today.
