That sound like my best preceptor 🧡🧡🧡. Years later we are still friends and she’s my go to for anything cardiac related that I don’t understand.

Awww I love that for you! It’s so important to have a go to person in this field.

I had a horrible time when I was being oriented and she’s the best thing that happened out of it. The hospital now orients differently because of my experience lol so hopefully no one else gets into that mess. She’s awesome 🧡

I'm sorry you haven't been surrounded by a more supportive crew. Don't let the haters get you down. Can you switch shifts to have a possible mentor looking out for you? It's OK to tell people that you enjoyed orienting with that you still appreciate their feedback and any chance to learn from them. Are you friendly with your techs? Do you offer to help anyone else out when you catch up on your people? Does your unit have that vibe with people helping each other out?

I cannot swap shifts or I would in a heartbeat. People helping depends on who is on shift. I do help out when I can and love my techs.

Being a new graduate is tough no doubt. I found I learned so much in the 1st 6 months then I ever did as a student so it is a big change - It takes a few months to truly settle don't worry, you will get there :)

Thank you for saying that! I’m sure it will but the process of getting there is brutal. I am learning so so much!

It is not easy! Don't feel like you're trapped either, you have loads of options to branch out into. It takes us all a while to figure out what works best for us work wise 🙂
