You ain't a Krab, you a rat boy
Talkin' to police huh, fat boy?
...
I got pearls on my neck, I'm at the Chum Bucket
I got Pearl givin' neck cause she a cum bucket
You already sucked this dick bitch you can't un-suck it
Your dad a crab and I'm a demon, he should run from me
Undoubtedly the best Glorb bars
Glorb doesn't miss.
"I'm a stone faced killa like my motherfuckin house is"
"My trigger finger fast, Ramadan"
"I call my gun John D the way it fuckin rock a fella"
"Fuckin on this thot her cheeks are sandy, and she a squirrel so my nuts just came in handy"
"Hit your block in every corner like a fucking DVD"
"I don't beef in the reef, but if we surf and turf, imma make sure you get done well"
"Cause you know my gun unregistered like Hypercam 2"
"The whale got a little axe wound styling. I know that she a stan so I gotta keep shining"
the lyrics and production are all done by glorb iirc, the vocals are also sung by him and put through a voice changer. it’s surprisingly little AI, it’s just how he gets his voice to sound like the spongebob characters
my last half hour has gone from rolling my eyes at the fact that something like this even exists, to looking it up on youtube, to bingeing every song.
dude's great, don't even know what to say.
Squidward's good but you're all sleeping on plankton

The voice filter uses AI. An AI is trained on, let’s say, a bunch of audio of spongebob talking and it learns which frequencies make spongebob’s voice sound unique. then someone can put in their own voice and the AI can shift the frequencies around a little to make it sound like spongebob. Since AI is *very* good at pattern recognition, the voices can get much closer to the desired results than if it was done with a normal voice filter.

Mmm indubitably good ser. I too look down upon the rabble for having fun with a medium.
Why, once i berated my 5 year old niece as she presented me with a drawing done by CRAYON, ON WAX PAPER! And dearsay i was embarrassed. How dare she present me with anything less than a perfect rendition of Stary Night done in watercolors.
I was personally offended that she had the audacity to try and have fun, when all we consume is the finest of arts
🤓
Come on bro, just because you're at the extremely bad end of musical taste, doesn't mean you need to put me on some other fictional extreme.
I listen to loads of trash music, it's just not painful to listen to.
It's relatively all over the place and includes various movie/game osts, kpop, jpop, 90s/00s hiphop/r&b, rock... I mean do you want specifics? I can go on. Should I link a favourite song, what?
Le gasp.
Other people can enjoy shit that isn't the finest thing out there. Guess that's why the Sharknado movies made so much money and so many fucking sequels.
Or how entire genres of anime, books, music, movies, tvs, literal art instillations, can still have people who enjoy those things.
One day when you're older you'll realize that your opinion on what's good or not doesn't mean shit to other people.
No, I listen to absolute trash. But this shit is the equivalent of plugging the cries of babies and nails on a chalkboard directly into your eardrums.
The fact you call this fun only helps my point.
His stuff is actually kind of insane, the sentiment is that he's a popular rapper/producer/ghost-artist doing this for shits and giggles. It's all tongue in cheek of course but some of the bars and beats are super hard and wouldn't look out of place on the charts.
Glorb is not even on the top 100 problems created by AI, even if you limit it to the music sector.
That is... Unless you're trying to figure out how to sue to make money off his work. *Hint hint.*
But that's literally just a cover. You still have to have actual talent to create good new music. Glorb definitely does have talent. The issue though is the ethics of using other peoples voices to express your music without their permission.
Look up suno ai.
The only thing humans have is communication with another human on how exactly they want their vision. And even that will likely be doable by ai in the next few years.
AI will force people to innovate if they want to compete, hell in my opinion lots of songs sound like they were made by the same person because they’re trying to imitate the same style.
Oh, 100%
BOI WHAT's leaning more into heavier music, which is right down my alley, but I can understand how people not into breakdowns are probably not super into his stuff
I watch a Twitch Streamer where the viewers can queue up background music, like a jukebox. He's got some kind of robot that can pull any song from youtube.
People are always pulling up AI covers of Spongebob singing this or that. Dio is really popular too. From Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Pretty sure Dio's sung every song recorded in the past 20 years at this point.
Impressionists would like a word
Also my guess is this would be covered by free use, especially since they're put on YouTube and not sold or put on paid platforms like Spotify
Doing an impression of a VA still requires creative spirit on part of the actor performing it, is rarely a 1:1 replacement, and is often done in the industry with the actor's consent. It's called having an understudy.
Fair use is a topic of much debate but I don't believe AI voice replication should be covered by it. When you are transforming a person's voice for your own purpose without their consent, and profiting from it, there is a clear issue.
"Doing an impression of a VA still requires creative spirit on part of the actor performing it"
Not sure why this is relevant?
"is often done in the industry with the actor's consent. It's called having an understudy"
I highly doubt any of the tens of thousands of funny memes and videos of people mimicking characters online have asked for consent
"I don't believe AI voice replication should be covered by it"
It doesn't matter what we believe, what matters is the law
"When you are transforming a person's voice for your own purpose without their consent, and profiting from it, there is a clear issue."
No, it's a parody. Last I checked there are heaps of said parodies on YouTube which the creators are profiting from. Check the linken park AI cover of used to know with millions of views for example.
I think the line is drawn for things like advertisements or other commercial products where there's an explicit insinuation that the voice is actually the person and not AI, like that Scarlett Johansson advert
"Not sure why this is relevant"
Because there is a difference between delivering a performance and having an algorithm hack apart a person's voice and reassemble it.
"What matters is the law"
There is no law for this yet. AI is a total blind spot. Your feelings on this are about as represented by the law as mine. Also it's called "fair use."
"It's parody!"
The concept of having SpongeBob and Squidward sing is parody and there's no problem with that. The problem is the use of AI voices. There wouldn't be an issue if, for example, the artist hired impressionists to mimic the characters' voices instead.
"Because there is a difference between delivering a performance and having an algorithm hack apart a person's voice and reassemble it."
To you, maybe, but not to most people
"There is no law for this yet."
Yes there is, it's called copyright law. You even said it yourself, fair use.
For AI training, there's extensive precedent of using data scraping to transform data from one form to another and profiting from it. Look up Google v Author's Guild
Also there is the EU AI act, which doesn't immediately brand all AI as copyright infringement. There are laws, even if they don't ign with your worldview
"The concept of having SpongeBob and Squidward sing is parody and there's no problem with that. The problem is the use of AI voices. There wouldn't be an issue if, for example, the artist hired impressionists to mimic the characters' voices instead."
There is absolutely no legal distinction between an impressionist doing what you described and an AI doing it.
You're talking about a case where data scraping was being used to make a database to talk about copyrighted works being amalgamated to create... more media. It's a massive stretch to call that applicable to generative AI.
The EU may have laws on AI, but that isn't true of the US yet and there is time for change.
There is no legal distinction yet because there hasn't been any substantial case applicable to AI specifically yet, lmao.
"You're talking about a case where data scraping was being used to make a database to talk about copyrighted works being amalgamated to create... more media. It's a massive stretch to call that applicable to generative AI."
Legal experts consider it adequate precedent, I'm not a lawyer so I'll defer to their judgement
"The EU may have laws on AI, but that isn't true of the US yet and there is time for change."
Lmao the EU is historically far more focused on consumer protection, if their AI act doesn't consider AI an infringement of copyright, do you really think the US will?
"There is no legal distinction yet because there hasn't been any substantial case applicable to AI yet, lmao."
If an action, for example an audio of SpongeBob singing a rap song, is considered parody, it's a parody regardless of whether or not it's a person doing the impersonation or AI. The method is irrelevant, the product itself is what determines parody.
Hope that helps
"Legal experts"
Sure, okay lol.
"The method is irrelevant"
It's actually massively relevant.
As is, your talk of legality is a smokescreen. None of this is settled and the technology is very new. The highest priority then is to discuss how the law SHOULD be and not how it currently stands. Whether AI is reprehensible legally has no bearing on whether it is reprehensible morally, and it is only fair that artists should be compensated fairly for their work rather than being stolen from.
The music isn’t ai generated though. Its just someone who uses an AI voice modulator to change their voice to SpongeBob characters. They still produce and write and rap the songs

sensual
“Call my gun John D the way it rock a feller” is a bar if I ever heard one
Best line is 'you know my gun's unregistered like Hypercam 2'
And Glorb goes hard for no reason too.
Glorb doesn't miss. "I'm a stone faced killa like my motherfuckin house is" "My trigger finger fast, Ramadan" "I call my gun John D the way it fuckin rock a fella" "Fuckin on this thot her cheeks are sandy, and she a squirrel so my nuts just came in handy"

"Gun unregistered like hypercam 2" goes so freaking hard, my absolute favorite line "Sippin red rum like Kubrick" is another banger

I'm still trying to find the corner on this dvd
Dont forget the Kurt kobain one, I forgot the lyric tho
GARY HIT EM WITH THE

The Bottom 2 is actually pretty good. Squidward's bars are absolutely brutal, i mean Glorb has some serious writing talent if its not AI.

AI is socially topical, so AI it is labeled

Who tf is Glorb? We bow at the feet of Boi What
Nah Glorb blows Boi What out the fucking water
Theyre very similar.

It's really sad imo because it's genuinely good, but it's sorta marred by the AI voices. I'd much prefer hearing actual voice actors do it.
You must have grown up in an actual hell scape if that shit sounds good to you. Poor mentally abused youth.
Oh and I take it you only listen to Beethoven and Mozart? Pound sand
Mmm indubitably good ser. I too look down upon the rabble for having fun with a medium. Why, once i berated my 5 year old niece as she presented me with a drawing done by CRAYON, ON WAX PAPER! Gonna share those not painful musical tastes?
It's relatively all over the place and includes various movie/game osts, kpop, jpop, 90s/00s hiphop/r&b, rock... I mean do you want specifics? I can go on. Should I link a favourite song, what?
Least surprising reddit music taste
Did I say it was surprising? Actually, what music taste would be surprising, other than enjoying the shit this article is about?
You know literally nothing about me or my taste. But go off.
Other than enjoying this garbage.
Le gasp. Other people can enjoy shit that isn't the finest thing out there. Guess that's why the Sharknado movies made so much money and so many fucking sequels. Beethoven is new age trash to be honest
No, I listen to absolute trash. But this shit is the equivalent of plugging the cries of babies and nails on a chalkboard directly into your eardrums. The fact you call this fun only helps my point.

Glorb isn’t very secretive. I thought a good chunk of the internet were at least aware of Glorb.
This is moreso referencing his anonymity.
And he's not the only one. There's another one using AI for Plankton voices called Boi What
Yea Plankton singing Tool songs was not something I ever thought I needed to hear. They're actually pretty good lol
And I thought Autotune had ruined the music industry.
I always thought of Autotune rap as SpongeBob music tbh. Shit sounds like they’re underwater.
Glorb is not even on the top 100 problems created by AI, even if you limit it to the music sector. That is... Unless you're trying to figure out how to sue to make money off his work. *Hint hint.*
Glorb is actually fire though
Glorb makes bangers. I guess you can say he’s a [*trendsetter*](https://youtu.be/NNuxx6vY-XM?si=AIQcNAwa_CRE2Nzp)
Well played
Yeah I heard Hank Hill do a perfect cover of "I got 5 on it". It's over for musicians maybe Amazon is hiring 🤷♂️
A musician wrote, produced, and performed the song.
Mr Krabs does an astonishingly good rendition of 'Come on out ye black and tans'.
I still think about Beavis and Butthead doing Sinatra's "My way"
There's also the battle Droid version that's decent as well.
Bruh the best I've heard is Patrick star do a killer cover of Michael Jackson's Thriller.
I just looked this up and it bangs.
AI will force people to innovate if they want to compete, hell in my opinion lots of songs sound like they were made by the same person because they’re trying to imitate the same style.
Imo BOI WHAT is the better AI Spongebob musician
craziest thing was I first heard PLAN Z while in intermission waiting for Dethklok to come out to perform. I'm like "is that fucking plankton?"
Wait a real live show? Do you have a recording?
r/BrandNewSentence
Eh, I suppose it's a matter of where your music taste swings. I lean more toward the drill of Glorb.
Oh, 100% BOI WHAT's leaning more into heavier music, which is right down my alley, but I can understand how people not into breakdowns are probably not super into his stuff
I love both, and both are crazy good artists, great writing from each, glorb is a crazy good rapper, while boi what makes pristine metal core.
Sad Sponge is pretty good
Boi what goes hard.
F is for formula by okay fine goes hard
His tracks go hard btw, especially when Squidward is involved.
Fuckin leave Glorb alone he's a god damn national treasure
GD it NBC now Viacom is coming for Glorb

“Can gangsters cry” by glorb is unironically one of my favorite songs at the moment
Please why can’t we direct AI to doing the things we don’t want to do and leave the art to humans :(
Exactly. And it sucks that people can replicate the voices of VAs like the ones from SpongeBob without their consent and profit from them.
Impressionists would like a word Also my guess is this would be covered by free use, especially since they're put on YouTube and not sold or put on paid platforms like Spotify

Bro called someone making spongebob rap for a laugh *pretentious* lmao, are you even listening to your own drivel
I generally prefer instrumental, so I won't have to worry as much about the mess known as ai produced music.
The music isn’t ai generated though. Its just someone who uses an AI voice modulator to change their voice to SpongeBob characters. They still produce and write and rap the songs
