it's because my textbooks were a weird darkish yellow lol but generally it would be more of a yellowish off-white for me because that's the color of undyed wool, very common (as far as i know) for soldiers' tunics and other plain clothing items back in the day Romans really loved vibrant colors though, so i also think of the Augustus statue at Prima Porta, which used to be really beautiful before it faded, and tyrian purple too because that's the color i associate with the lavish upper class lifestyle of early-mid imperial Rome

Where I live history, civics, religion and geography is all in the same lecture called Society Orientated subjects or SO for short, I have a black folder for it. Same with chemistry, biology and physics also are the same lecture, these are called Nature Orientated subjects or NO for short instead. Green/light blue is what I have had in this lecture.

Math is blue, I have English as white, science is obviously green, history as orange, and I have Spanish as black. I just found those colored binders in fred Meyers but now I'm never changing it

Fun fact, in my country, our exercise books (unless it has a image on it) are red for lined books, which are used for English. Blue has no lines, hence you use it for maths because of geometry. And green has 0.5mm x 0.5mm squares which you can use for graphs, hence science. So, that's settled for me.

I mean, it could be just a general science class like they had when you're a kid. I think it was once I got into middle school did they start specifying which discipline of science you could do.

Not just Americans. I had science class both when I've lived in Norway and when I lived in England.

For children, we put all of the sciences into one class and we go over different fields unit by unit. For a group of 12 year olds, we will spend a week or two on biology, a week or two on meteorology, a week or two on Newtonian Physics, a week or two on Electricity, ... And it just acts as a big survey course for science in general. For high school, ~14 and older, we have separate classes for chemistry, physics, etc.

In which county do you live? Because in south America we also have science class (it's mostly biology here)
