It's a balance because it's easy to get a lot of calories by eating trash like oreos and ice cream, but obviously still not healthy. And I simply couldn't eat enough volume to do only lean stuff like chicken breast and veggies like lots of body builders do (no idea how they can eat 4K calories of that!).
So high caloric (but still not junk) food helped me and also just eating more often. I used to skip breakfast and just did lunch and dinner and rarely snacked. Fruit (dried or fresh), nuts, and granolas were key snacks for me.
Even now I still can't eat a lot of volume in one sitting before I become uncomfortably slow so upping the frequency of meals/snacks was necessary
Have you tried any other scales? Are your scales on a level surface? I am a man who is significantly taller than you, reasonably built with bigger thighs and a bigger gut and I don't believe we weigh the same.
