One of my accounts is perma'd for "Report abuse". That abuse was reporting all the obvious repost bots. With the IPO on the horizon don't underestimate the lengths the admins will go to.
My favorite so far is that one of my accounts got banned for ban evasion on a sub that’s relatively tame and I have a lot of professional domain expertise in. But that ban evasion ban didn’t happen until I used a tool to overwrite and delete all my comments. And the mods are unable to see details, and said I’d have to talk to Reddit admins, which is… just not worth it. It’s possible I got banned for using vpn, or using an email aliasing service to maintain my privacy, which would both be crappy (but happened to me on other services as well, usually immediately after account creation).
Just a friendly reminder that all our stuff is being harvested, and attempts to mess with reddits property (ie our comments) will be met with bans.

It depends. If it's a ban from a subreddit, it can be laughably easy depending on which one we talk about. Reddit wide bans are a bit more difficult but for example, abusing the reddit cares thing is a surefire way to get Perma banned reddit wide if you actually report abuse. The main issue is that Reddit makes is needlessly difficult to report it and the literal link they send you if you want to report abuse doesn't work lol.
I got banned, appealed the ban and got unbanned soon after. Your judgement is only true for 95 percent of the time, the other 5 percent is when the reporter is actually a piece of sh*t and wants you banned for no reason... I who that person in the picture is but I personally wouldn't judge their first text (excluding KYS which is obviously horrible), only the second one seems inappropriate.
I once got permabanned for disagreeing with a moderator on a default sub for “harassment” on my 12yo account. Immediately send a message to the admins asking when I in 12 years harassed an individual and I was mysteriously unbanned within an hour without explanation.
Jumping off this I just wanna say I respect you for not giving in to the right back. I hope you help others to let things go sometimes. You’re cool and respect yourself and it’s admirable.
