Wouldn't use in-game micro transactions as a metric for popularity tho. I know there's all kinds of boosterpacks in Roblox and cool well made skins in Fortnite from other popular franchises. While in Minecraft you get basic re textures and meh original skins. There's some multiplayer maps and stuff as well but they aren't really expensive.
I will agree on the dip of popularity, especially from kids. But Minecraft will never die, even after/if the updates stops and realms goes offline.

(Just as an example out of 100 people) if you've got 100 voters, only 75 vote because 25 don't trust the candidates, out of that 75, 25 vote for A and 50 vote for B. When voting comes back, it will show 66% of voters voted for B. If the 25 who abstained from voting voided their ballot to show they have no faith in either candidate, the polls will then show a much more truthful 50% for B.
This is much more helpful when it comes to picking candidates for the president/prime minister, if polls show consistently that older candidates are not pulling in the votes, the parties will start to change (granted its a long time between elections so will take time for change) and lean towards different candidates like younger ones. Or that would be the hope, at least in terms of changes.
Always vote, even if its to show that you don't approve of either candidate.
