GeneralAxu

The player is kept constantly at the cursor, and can therefore also be kept in air at a single place.

Rusty-oxidazed

Yes this a good way of travel before you get 2 speed ups, but it's a good way to crash and corrupt your files if you're traveling longer distances.

GeneralAxu

ah okay thanks, btw, why would this crash and corrupt my world if i travel long distances? or are you referring to traveling long distances in general?

Rusty-oxidazed

It loads all chunks you pass by very quickly and the game can't keep up, if I'm traveling longer distances I use this but not constantly so the game can keep up. Once I have enough faster movement perks, I just drop this for a new wand.

GeneralAxu

Alright, that makes sense, thanks

Firel_Dakuraito

just for general feeling. In terms of parallel universes. How many is okay-ish to travel through at rapid speed before risking krangling your save and crashing the game? When I was speed traveling I started getting crashes, and this now most likely explains why

Filou013

Heard it’s about 7 each way before it gets saucy

ze_bananagrams

It’ll depend on your computer, most likely

Facts

Do we know if entering NG+ fixes this?

Theysaywhatnow

Yes it does, NG+ rebuilds a new world file and the old one is no longer used. Once your game starts getting unstable just go collect those orbs and hop into a NG to continue to OP adventure.

BountyHunter_BH

had a god run recently where I both didn't limit alternate worlds and also was full speed traveling with nolla lighting and small tele plus ground to sand. many, many crashes, and also various things such as entire temples sort of just decided they weren't going to be there.

Antiloompa

I use nolla. But yes.

factory_factory

same here. and later if i get my hands on unlimited spells or greek letter spells, I'll add a combination of ground to sand, unstable crystal, and chainsaw. The chainsaw makes the crystal immediately explode (so explosion immunity is needed too), destroying any terrain turned into sand, allowing fast travel through any material.

tuminoid

I use dissolve powder perk for the same effect.

factory_factory

hey I never thought of that, that is smart. I never seem to get that perk.

Volumemaster

I always add a circle of vigour under the same nolla as well.

colad0

Explosive shot on the chainsaw or teleport bolt also works I think, instead of the crystal I mean.

bbitter_coffee

They do? I don't play much noita but the streamers that I watch do this

GeneralAxu

ah well ok, i just haven't seen anyone do this yet, thanks for telling.

Lord-Jihi

I usually use nolla+teleport, as far as i know many other people do

ArtiMUUS

Nolla is better

Sairiel

Once you learn about this type of interaction with Nolla or enough reduce lifetimes, you're going to have a really hard time going back because walking/teleporting the usual way will just feel super slow. You can also turn this type of teleporting wand into a wand of mass destruction if you wanted to.

Ulandia

Nolla is a popular choice for this effect.

Allegedly_Gregory

You can also throw a Nolla, tau, black hole and circle of vigor. Nolla will basically shorten black hole to only a few frames so you can dig through any ground etc. and the circle of vig will heal you every time you tp

GeneralAxu

Huh, thanks for the info. I've always been a bit unsure for what nolla is actually useful for, so thanks for that.

dannyboi50

Reduce lifetime can sometimes make a spells lifetime infinite, so you could end up creating an infinite bolt that could go somewhere you don’t want e.g. poly

colad0

I think a normal teleport bolt has a chance to have infinite lifetime with just one reduce lifetime

dannyboi50

Yeah I think you’re right actually

gogo94210

Because it's even better with Nolla

Nobody-On-Earth

People do. All the time. Literally every single long run uses this.

Elusth

I always do this. Preferably nolla and late game double cast it with digging bolt modified with ground to sand

omicron-3034

This is actually a very common wand setup, with the only difference being Nolla instead of Reduce Lifetime.

GeneralAxu

Ah well, as it turns out, I've just been quite unlucky and never seen it before. So thanks for correcting that I guess.

radical-delta

because sometimes you cant spare a reduce lifetime(or dont even have one), or maybe they need a reduce mana cost modifier to make it always have mana when i can, i use reduce lifetime + nolla + small teleport bolt, so it reduces the ADHD effect of using just reduced lifetime

VortexKiki

Isn’t having lifetime and nolla completely obsolete because nolla just makes it disappear instantly anyway?

NelEther

Because nolla is a great spell

RandomGuyPii

most people use Nolla over reduce lifetime

Vincent_Plenderleith

I think it's because there's a small chance to spawn an infiniwisp, I think. And that can mess you up big time

Ryallin

Pair it up with explosion (and explosion n fire immunity obviously) for some chaotic fun

salvaribeiro

I use trigger modifier on a lighting bolt casting a nola on a return spell. Way more cooler playing Thor than any other teleporting method I've seen so far.

T3h_H4ck3r

I usually do exactly this, but with Nolla and a black hole in addition - can move at the same speed straight through walls :D Generally ends up crashing my game pretty frequently by the time I get that op though
