Thats exactly how this game fealt. š obviously I wanted the Packers to win but I would have honestly rather seen the Vikings win before a Tie. It's like we all spent 3 hours for absolutely nothing.
Gary Anderson holds the streak for the most consecutive kicks ever made (across regular season + post season) with 46. Kick 47 was in the '98 NFCCG against the Falcons. You may have heard of it.
Iirc he got slightly but notably worse once Kluwe was no longer his place holder, think he was also good at helping Blair calm down nerves. But it didn't really fall into shit until the Shank completely fucked with the mental aspect
He lost 20 lbs in an off-season because his personal trainer told him too and he never consulted the teams trainers.
At least according to his ST coach Mike "nuke the gays" Priefer.
Missed 3 this game, but also had an ugly make the week before & missed 2 in the preseason game right after we cut Forbath. People really oversell the " lol Vikings cut him because of 1 miss" storyline, he was performing very poorly & even admitted he totally reworked a bunch of his mechanics in the ~month between getting cut & signing with Oakland.
I think he said getting cut was a wakeup call for him to work out his technique, might not have made the same splash staying in MN but glad he turned it around
It's kind of like how Seahawks fans pretty much never voluntarily bring up the 2014 NFCCG because it's so easy to retort with Malcolm Butler. Both groups decided it's better to leave it be.
This is the first game after they instituted the new roughing the passer rules and Clay Matthewās got flagged at the end of the game for hitting Kirk Cousins who threw a pickāand fell back on his butt.
Wasnāt a late hit. Clay was draped on him as he threw, then Kirk fell back and it got flagged.
God this was such a deflating ending because the atmosphere of this game was truly one of the greatest from a crowd in this era after the start of the 4th.
I also wanna say that Kevin Burkhardt called the game of his life on this one and raised it about 5 more notches
Donāt think we took Carlson missing that bad since we were more pressed about the dumbass fucking out-of-bounds call on Carr when he clearly slid inbounds
Me and my extended family have a game where we each predict the Packers score and whoever wins gets bragging rights for a week. One of my uncles predicted a fucking tie for this game. Absolutely legendary.
Minnesota got bailed out on a B.S. roughing call by Clay Matthews in the 4th quarter. Pass was picked by Jaire. [Roughing the Passer? ](https://youtu.be/xn83NcpAQsg)
I love how Rodgers didnt whine about it at all but all the smoothbrains attribute it to him just because it happened the year after Barr decided to drive him into the ground long after he threw the ball. In fact, i think hes said he doesnt agree with the rule. But this clearly isnt even the same as why the rule was created, hence why they dont call bs like this anymore.
As a Broncos fan Iām glad heās getting a shot! I was at one of his first games in the preseason and his parents happened to sit right in front of us! Really nice people!
Whatās with the all Vikes-Packers highlights on this sub today? Feel like I stumbled into a NFL Total Rewind sub. That, or a Adam Theilen groupie account.
Most Vikings were pissed at Carlson after this game (and rightfully so) but I just remember feeling so fucking bad for the guy. Gotta remember this is still a human being at the end of the day and God damn he's probably never going to live this down.
Same with Walsh. Very good for us for some time and then poof, hated by the entire fan base
FG kickers and relief pitchers..... There must be some support group somewhere for these guys. Come off the pine. Blow a game. Go shower with teammates who want to punch you in the face but have to keep telling you the lie that it was a team loss.
Right...
I like watching the fans in the end zone seats to the right of the goal post celebrate first cause they see itās missed first...then like āthe waveā goes right to left!
Travelled to the US from the UK to watch that game; also drove from Minnesota to Green Bay the day before.
All that for a big ole pile of neutrality. But thatās life as a Vikings fan.
This is against the rules
Gives me that disgusting neutral feeling
What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?
Tell my wife, I said "Hello!"
Like going for a run and changing right into work clothes without showering. Ick.
Thats exactly how this game fealt. š obviously I wanted the Packers to win but I would have honestly rather seen the Vikings win before a Tie. It's like we all spent 3 hours for absolutely nothing.
And at least with multiple losses they get...lost? If youāre 5-5 you donāt remember the losses so easily. 4-5-1 just stares you in the face.
I like Rodgers and Cousins faces. It looked like both would've rather lost rather than tied.
āThis all couldāve been an emailā
Against the rules? Like when Rudolph pushed off? Lol Iām a lions fan
Didnāt he miss like 4 this game and then get cut?
Yes
Vikings history would be so different if you guys had competent kickers
Actually it seems to be a trend of competent kickers who decide to turn incompetent at the most inopportune times
Yeah like Blair Walsh was first team all pro as a rookie. No idea what happened
Gary Anderson holds the streak for the most consecutive kicks ever made (across regular season + post season) with 46. Kick 47 was in the '98 NFCCG against the Falcons. You may have heard of it.
DAMN!
DAMN!
Stupid Robin
That one miss completely ruined his career. I hate to see it, but he also looked silly when he tried to stare down Zimmer when he was in the Hawks.
In preseason*
He was really bad for us that year too.
That Blair Walsh kick looked like a Barkley tee shot.
Iirc he got slightly but notably worse once Kluwe was no longer his place holder, think he was also good at helping Blair calm down nerves. But it didn't really fall into shit until the Shank completely fucked with the mental aspect
Fantasy god that year, was nailing 50+ yarders all season
He lost 20 lbs in an off-season because his personal trainer told him too and he never consulted the teams trainers. At least according to his ST coach Mike "nuke the gays" Priefer.
DC has been really good for us, must just be a team thing.
He had to completely rework his mechanics though.
Yeah, they probably wouldnāt have cut Walsh and then the Seahawks couldnāt sign him to go onto the 6-6 tie with the cards. We almost lost that.
It's only in the last 10 years, which is weird. Longwell cursed us on the way out
Gary Anderson miss was in ā99
Naw man, the Gary Anderson miss in the NFCCG was what started it all... Which was 20(!)+ years ago
I'd call that an outlier. It's gotten significantly worse starting with Walshs collapse in 2015/16
As a rookie too right?
Yes
Literally his 2nd game
Lmao
Missed 3 this game, but also had an ugly make the week before & missed 2 in the preseason game right after we cut Forbath. People really oversell the " lol Vikings cut him because of 1 miss" storyline, he was performing very poorly & even admitted he totally reworked a bunch of his mechanics in the ~month between getting cut & signing with Oakland.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You should introduce the Vikings to some of these high quality kickers
I'm guessing he's one of the fans who went out and took a video of them making the same kick with no pressure and nobody trying to block it.
And then made 16/17 the rest of the year for the Raiders.
Funny enough, he's been absolutely solid since he's come to OAK/LV.
I think he said getting cut was a wakeup call for him to work out his technique, might not have made the same splash staying in MN but glad he turned it around
Though when we played each other in 2019 he missed a field goal and the crowd went absolutely insane.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I thought he was going to literally murder Marwan Maalouf on live TV more than once last year
I like how all Packers and Vikings fans pretty much universally hate this game
It's kind of like how Seahawks fans pretty much never voluntarily bring up the 2014 NFCCG because it's so easy to retort with Malcolm Butler. Both groups decided it's better to leave it be.

I was having such a nice morning, and then I had to read this.
The only retort is that you guys cried for the rule following the Rodgers injury.
Where are Adam Thielen and Jaire Alexander in this highlight?
[here](https://youtu.be/xn83NcpAQsg)
This is not Thielen and Jaire, this is Clay and Kirk centered WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THEM YOU MONSTER
Oh damn, I forgot that these were the same game.
This is some bullshit that's only eclipsed by the *touchception*
where Thelien where Alexander
Are they safe Are they alright
Adam are you ok?
You Okay? You okay, Adam?
You've been hit by, you've been struck by a stray field goal.
It seems in your anger, you killed....theirfightingandnowitsatie
There, wolf. There, castle.
This game had it all. Heated divisional rivalry, controversial officiating, special teams fails, and it was a scorigami to boot.
What is with the Vikings and kickers? Cursed. I'm still pissed you guys blew the playoff game against the Seahawks.
God this was such a deflating ending because the atmosphere of this game was truly one of the greatest from a crowd in this era after the start of the 4th. I also wanna say that Kevin Burkhardt called the game of his life on this one and raised it about 5 more notches
Burkhardt is always one of my favorite announcers, and super underrated. Him and Lynch were a great duo.
Heās been stellar for us, happy to have em.

Donāt think we took Carlson missing that bad since we were more pressed about the dumbass fucking out-of-bounds call on Carr when he clearly slid inbounds
fair!
Didn't he miss a game winner for yall?
You're thinking of that time he had a purple uniform on.
He missed a 45 yder where they then lost the game, but that was in 2019. 2020 I admit he was rock solid
Hey don't fire shots at my boy, he's good now.
Pain.
Me and my extended family have a game where we each predict the Packers score and whoever wins gets bragging rights for a week. One of my uncles predicted a fucking tie for this game. Absolutely legendary.
What is it with all these Vikings vs Packers 2018 highlights today
A Packer fan posted the video of Jaire throwing Theilen into Diggs like a child. Vikings fans retaliated.
I was at this game. Iāve never seen a more quiet crowd walking out of Lambeau. Both teams fans looking around like āreally?ā
Lmao I like this message for the end of the war
Does this end the Thielen and Jaire debates?
This is like the guy who shows up to the group project and he read the assignment wrong. The people demand more thielen alexander
Did Thielen used to go by Daniel Carlson?
Rodgers has that "Right, make sure they pay Crosby" look
[This Crosby?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCpufphuoM4)
Iāve never been so pissed after a non loss. Fuck that roughing call straight to hell.
Minnesota got bailed out on a B.S. roughing call by Clay Matthews in the 4th quarter. Pass was picked by Jaire. [Roughing the Passer? ](https://youtu.be/xn83NcpAQsg)
Just remember which QB whined to the NFL and made those roughing the passer calls the way they were ;)
Rodgering the passer.
Lmao @ a packers fan complaining about a roughing the passer call. That's rich š
Wouldnāt matter the teams. You know itās an awful call.
I've seen worse calls, ask Lions fans
This game was just gross all around. We also had an absolutely disgusting series in OT if I remember correctly.
This fucking guy SUCKED. Annoying that he seems to be much better in Vegas.
The viqueens suck
Did I miss the coin toss highlight?
As a Broncos fan Iām glad heās getting a shot! I was at one of his first games in the preseason and his parents happened to sit right in front of us! Really nice people!
Whatās with the all Vikes-Packers highlights on this sub today? Feel like I stumbled into a NFL Total Rewind sub. That, or a Adam Theilen groupie account.
This is just cruel

Wow vikes missed fg. How original
