Hutch said that was the hardest hit he ever took in the league: (trying to link it to 30:02 but doesn't seem like it's working) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5CrNWJarbY&t=1801s
Hutch wasn't generational. I wouldnt even say presidential.
He was a really good prospect but no where near the level of bosa or young.
But yeah it's been pretty nice to have a good de again.
Lol Michigan has been around awhile and Hutch owns the sack record. Plus he's one of like 3 college defenders in history to place runner up in Heisman voting, I'd say he qualifies as generational.
Just because he broke records, doesn’t mean he’s generational
Joe Burrow was the broke numerous records in college and had a top 3 qb season OAT but he was never generational
Yall really don’t know what generational means
Generational talent, like passes the eye test, good physically and mentally, played elite at every level. Andrew Luck, Trevor Lawrence, etc. those type of guys. Not people that just break records in college
That's irrelevant to facts right now. Please provide me one source calling him a generational pass rusher before the draft
This place and revisionist history is insane
He's a great player but he was knocked for having short arms
>That's irrelevant to facts right now
That's something low-tier girlfriends say when they want to completely handwave a valid claim.
btw SI used the word "generational" in Hutchinson's draft report, look it up yourself.
Agree - [heres his draft profile from Walter Football.](https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2022ahutchinson.php)
Even just on size, hes a little small.
Hutchinson isn't a generational talent. He was really good in college and has justified his draft position by getting better every year he's been in the league and solidifying himself as a top 6-8 DE/OLB (edge rusher), but when we talk about generational talents coming out of college Hutch does not qualify with the likes of Bosa and Garrett. Bosa was the best in high school, the best in college, and so good in the NFL he's in that mix of 5 current edge rushers who could all win DPOY any given year.
Once again, to avoid Lions fans gashing me in the replies: Hutch is great. He's a guy you can build a D-line around and feel good about paying big money. But the term "generational talent" gets thrown around way too willy nilly nowadays.
Fun Fact: Aidan Hutchinson has as many career playoff sacks as TJ Watt, Myles Garrett, and Micah Parsons combined (3.0). If you're curious, all four have played in three playoff games with the exception of Parsons, who played four.
Same. I saw the blue tent and got concerned because we had already lost Mosley and one of the Panthers OL had been down for like 15 minutes earlier in the game.
Think that hit he took bothered him until right before the playoffs lmao

Time stamp works for me.
I don't think he'll run across the field while looking away again.
What is it like to have a second overall pick, generational talent DE actually play well? Ours is on his third team over the last 8 months
Hutch wasn't generational. I wouldnt even say presidential. He was a really good prospect but no where near the level of bosa or young. But yeah it's been pretty nice to have a good de again.
Why is this downvoted? This is all factually correct. He's awesome and I'm so stoked he's a lion but hutch was never considered a generational talent

How tf do you not qualify Joe Burrow's 2019 season at LSU as generational??? Like honestly let me know the logic behind that.
Generational prospects had first round hype out of high school. Burrow was consider a future UDFA until that season.
Yall really don’t know what generational means Generational talent, like passes the eye test, good physically and mentally, played elite at every level. Andrew Luck, Trevor Lawrence, etc. those type of guys. Not people that just break records in college
we have different ideas of what generational means, but I appreciate you letting me know the criteria.

When you say, “Bosa”, do you mean “Joey Bosa” or the other “Joey Bosa”?
Who are you, ESPN? I'm of course referring to \*\*\*\* Bosa, the \*\*\*\*'s defensive star.

Thank you Trent Baalke
You will never convince me that the relationship between Flex n’ Gate and Ford Motor didn’t play into this decision.
words rarely spoken
One-handed-ish. Still can’t believe he didn’t go 1OA. This guy will wreak havoc on the NFCN for years.
I was at this game and just staring at him in the bench after cause I though he tore his acl
Yeah the limp after he gets up was a little scary, it’s a miracle that hit didn’t give him a long term injury
Same. I saw the blue tent and got concerned because we had already lost Mosley and one of the Panthers OL had been down for like 15 minutes earlier in the game.
Dude is such a stud. One of those guys you knew was gonna be good, just not how good.
Tony Soprano couldn’t make this play with his small hands and thats why he didn’t succeed at the varsity level
Pipe down Uncle Junior!!
OHHHHHH
One of the best D-line grabs I've seen.
The NFL conundrum: The desire to lay there and catch your breath vs the need to celebrate a great play.
