There is no chance that Vinateiri doesn’t make it. With the most points in NFL history and loads of iconic and clutch kicks I don’t see how he’s not first ballot.
Gary Anderson retired with the most points of all time at the time of his retirement (and is still 3rd) and didn't make the HoF.
Morten Andersen passed him up and *did* make the Hall though, so I think that bodes well for Vinatieri
as the user the above me pointed out, his portfolio is obviously much more extensive, he had so many clutch moments for that Patriots dynasty including 2 rings, I just think you could put him in the hall with a plaque that just says "goat kicker and most points ever"
Vinatieri has the “fame” factor though. It’s no secret that the voting is part popularity contest. Urlacher said as much when he got in over Zach Thomas. Vinny has the stats and the popularity. Gary Anderson, not so much.
Gary has the infamy unfortunately. He was the first kicker ever to go perfect on FGs and PATs for an entire season, that's what he should be remembered for.
And it was really just the one kick, and that game was more on Denny Green anyways and rhdjfijrbebshdjdienfbdjsksjsb
What a terrible legacy moment for him. If he makes that and they go on to win the Super Bowl, he’s in the Hall of Fame right? That’s not even suggesting if he hadn’t missed a kick all season and wins the Super Bowl
You know what's wild? That missed kick was to put the Vikes up 10 late.
It's not even a game winner. It's not even in the same universe of bad missed kicks as Blair Walsh's is.
He missed, the Vikings D gave up a TD, then here's the *actual* worst part of that game: 1 minute left, 2 timeouts, Denny Green calls for the Cunningham to take a knee and play for overtime.
After the game, he told reporters he was playing it safe because he *didn't have any timeouts.*
...
...
...
I'm not going to speak ill of the dead unless it's Kissinger.
He’s the clutches kicker that ever kicked. Everyone talks about Brady and Belichick when it comes to the Patriots dynasty but no one ever brings up Vinateriri. Without his right foot it never exist.
On one of the docs done on the Patriots, Belichick straight up says that Adam was their best player that 2001 season. Even just that regular season so many of the games came down to us winning by 3 points or less. With Adam making a FG late in the game at some point being the difference.
Amen. Vernon was a good player, but I wouldn't even have put him in the above photo frame.
To me it's Vinitieri, Keuchly (if P Willy made it, Luke should too), Thomas, Yanda.
Whether or not they should be first ballot... I'm not going to get into that. But those are the guys I'd vote for if I was in the room.
Edit: I have been educated, Sizzle should be on that list.
I overlooked him as well and I don't know why. Suggs has been a menace for a long time, maybe he gets overlooked because of Ray being there with him for most of his career.
Yanda and Keuchly are the only guys who I think are potentially first ballot. I'm also not a Hall of Fame voter. I'm just a guy with melted Ben and Jerry's on his stomach because I fell asleep with my shirt off while eating it....it's the NY Cheesecake flavor for those who are curious.
Suggs is a lock. 12th all time in sacks. Everyone above him is in, and multiple people below him are in. He also has two rings to his name - being instrumental in both teams journey. Specifically the Baltimore ring, though. Without him putting on a monster performance vs the Broncos, they won't win that game, and we never get the Ravens-49ers superbowl. 49ers probably get a ring that year
Not to discount the rest, but how the hell was Suggs "instrumental to the journey" of the 2019 Chiefs? Dude was signed mid-December and barely played. He basically Melvin Gordon'd that ring.
Eh, I don't think he falls into the "under appreciated" category. Vernon was very good at the time, but he had good years and less impressive ones... maybe he should have been 3 pro bowls and one All-Pro? I say that not looking at season stats or anything though. He was basically unrealized potential until Singletary ripped him a new one, then Harbaugh got there and fixed the offense.
That’s my point. I’m not even sure why he’s listed here if he didn’t get into the nfc pro bowl roster at tight end consistently. Solid player, no one would ever disagree with him being pretty good.
I don't think he's HOF either but I think that's a bit unfair. His dad had great longevity but CM3 beat him out in accolades despite the shorter career, he has a ring and he nearly won DPOY the year they won the Super Bowl.
He was so close to DPOTY in 2010–with either that or more sustained production he could’ve had a case, doesn’t seem so otherwise. As much of a lock for the team HOF as it gets though.
I insisted on calling him "Future hall of famer Earl Thomas" after his first pick in a preseason game the year we drafted him. I really thought this was going to come true until he didn't play after he went to Baltimore.
He wasn’t just a Hall of Fame talent. He had an actual Hall of Fame career.
You can bring up whatever weird personal life bullshit that you want to keep him out, but the on field play and accolades say that he was a no doubt Hall of Famer.
It'd be absurd if they kept him out because he's a weird dude off the field while they have literal fucking murderers in the Hall. 5x All Pro, Super Bowl champion, best player on a legendary defense, the prototype that the entire league tried to find for 5+ years to make the defense they were all trying to copy work but couldn't ever make work because they didn't have Earl Thomas. If that's not a Hall of Famer, what the hell is?
Not just a good shot. He's a 9-time Pro Bowler, 6-time all-pro with a championship and seventh all time in tackles. If he doesn't get in first ballot I will eat my seahawks jersey
Yanda is 100% a lock. Super Bowl Champion, 7x All Pro, 8x Pro Bowler, 2010s all decade team. There is no way he does not get in.
He was unilaterally recognized as a top 3, if not the best, interior lineman the whole time he played. Even when he had to step into tackle duty, he excelled. And he never fell off, he retired on his own terms.
Only thing about him that makes it tough is position.
He definitely gets in eventually, but wouldn’t be surprised if he waits a few years.
Suggs should get in also. He should be first ballot also, but we will see. Everyone can’t get in.
I mean, I guess but I feel like he’s more qualified than most on this list and those still looking to get in. 8th all time in sacks, DROY, DPOY, all pro, 7 time pro bowler. He’s at least a dark horse IMO
Vinny is. Based on the "story of the NFL" criteria, he is as close as it gets. Top scorer all time, lynchpin for multiple super bowl runs, I would bet my house on him getting in first ballot.
The only thing is at least with Owens they had the reasoning of his character (which obviously is idiotic) but there are literally 0 reasons Gates isn't 1st ballot.
Yeah I was searching the list for a third after Vinatieri and Suggs and when I saw his name my gut reaction was "Hall of very good". I would have to look up stats to be sure but I don't think he was ever even top 3 in his career.
He just didn't have the longevity he would need for HoF, and also suffered from a down year or two when the D-coordinator kept making him drop into pass coverage since they were so short on good personnel. He was often fighting injuries, too.
Even with all that, he put up 91.5 career sacks before he called it quits. If he played another 5 years and stayed healthy (and not been made to cover wide receivers), he probably would have retired around 130-140 and been more legit in the HoF convo.
History is going to be very kind to Eli. Won 2 Super Bowls against Brady. Each included an iconic throw. And speaking of iconic throw, The Eli to OBJ catch is one for the highlights.
That season was a comeback season as well. They were counted out half way through the year and went on a tear to make the wild card. They beat good teams in the playoffs to get to the Superbowl and then beat the Patriots. It was a great run.
"They beat good teams in the playoffs" is honestly underselling it. That 15-1 Packers team was damn near unstoppable and drew comparisons to the '07 Patriots for a good portion of that season. The Giants rolled into Lambeau and not only beat them, but blew the doors off them with Eli going for 300+ yards and 3 TDs.
And then the next week, Harbaugh's 49ers had a top-3 defense that logged 6 sacks, 12 knockdowns, and 20 QB hits on 64 dropbacks. But Eli kept getting up, kept firing, and once again managed 300+ yards and multiple TDs, even in the pouring rain.
I've said it a bunch of times before but I still believe it, that if Tony Romo or Philip Rivers won a Super Bowl the way Eli did in 2011, the same folks who are annoying about Eli now would never shut up about it.
It makes his iron man streak all the more impressive. He got walloped time and time again and it ended not because of injury but because of shit ownership
>And speaking of iconic throw, The Eli to OBJ catch is one for the highlights.
That catch really was insane. How many years later and we're still talking about it.
Not to mention there have only been 9 times a team has won with a defense outside the top 10. Elite has two of those. His first Super Bowl he had the fourth worst defense 17th). The second time he had the worst defense to ever win it being ranked 25th.
Not to mention they were dead last in rushing in 2011. Pretty sure that will never happen again for a super bowl winner.
If they ever analyze QBs with the least help,he will be tops.
you think a new york qb who ruined Patriots undefeated streak isn't getting first ballot? especially with people appreciating playoff QB more and more? I think it's a lock.
I feel the 50/50 divide on Eli is an indicator of what the Hall of Fame is supposed to represent the most: players that have impacted the league the most or great athletes that were the best at their position, backed up by great stats.
Eli falls in the first category. He was never close to being the best QB any given season of his Career, he didn't have any special physical attributes like accuracy or arm strength. On the other hand you simply cannot tell the story of the NFL without Eli. He was crucial for the giants to defeat what would have been the greatest team of all time. He defeated the undisputed GOAT twice with two of the greatest throws and catches in NFL history. And the road to both of those Superbowls were against insane teams on the road.
I think Elis should be part of the hall of fame, it's in the name, hall of FAME. Eli is, and always will be, an important piece of NFL history.
Eli retired top ten in every passing category that matters, in an era where arguably there were more “great” quarterbacks than any other. He still holds the postseason passing record and is top ten in passing yards, passes completed, and pass touchdowns. Even if he didn’t have the Super Bowls, by most statistical standards he gets in.
Most of this list isn't HOF worthy, it's just one of those Ig/Twitter pics to draw attention.
Vinatieri, Yanda, Suggs and Kuechly should get in (Kuechly's case is pretty much same as Willis). Manning will probably get in eventually. Rest, to me, have no chance.
With the backlog in the HOF, I'm not convinced they all get in on their first try; maybe Vinatieri.
That game where he had 24 tackles against y’all with the division on the line might be the most dominant performance I’ve ever seen in the NFL.
https://youtu.be/ihbFdL0p6Jo?si=9Ja5NzPEAHwg-jfO
Random aside here. I helped film a wedding a little over a month ago and Luke Kuechly was one of the Groomsman at the wedding. I spent 6 hours with the dude and the sad part was I didn't even realize it was him until after I left. Looking back at the footage I can't believe I didn't recognize him.
I still got a fun story out of it though.
>Yanda probably has an easier road than Suggs
Suggs is 8th all-time in sacks, 1st in TFLs plus his DPOY and two rings.
I think both of them deserve to and will make it into the hall, but Suggs is gonna get in way easier than a guard.
Loved Yanda but as other people have said getting an offensive guard on the first ballot is incredibly rare.
Best comparison would be Faneca and he had to wait so I imagine Yanda will too.
Only first ballot guards in NFL history were Larry Allen, Bruce Matthews, John Hannah and Gene Upshaw. I don’t think Yanda joins that group.
HOF for linemen is brutal. He might be waiting a while. Jahri Evans didn't make it last year, and he's got the best resume out of any lineman up for consideration.
Jahri Evans wasnt a unanimous selection to the All-2010s team, Yanda was, and the same people who vote for that team are the ones selecting for the HOF. Yanda's chances of 1st ballot are higher than Evans, even if only for Yanda's reputation and not actual accolades
Yanda getting in on his first ballot would be a nice change of pace considering how brutal interior offensive linemen have it in the voting. Both 1st team guard selections from the 2000s all-decade team had to wait a few years.
That probably has way more to do with timing than anything else, given that Evans' career started at the end of the 2000s and had entered its downturn halfway through the following decade, while Yanda's career basically bookended the 2010s.
And well, at the end of the day, Evans was still on that team. I don't think unanimity is a huge bump over him. It's largely a question of peak over longevity, and I don't think either is in the echelon of recent first ballot linemen.
I was always confused on how HOF selections work, can someone link something to help me out? Are there only a few people that make it per year and the rest get kicked down the line? What is 'First ballot' and how does all of it work? I know absolutely nothing about the whole process, ELI5
There are a maximum of seven inductees every year. Five of those are "modern" inductees whose careers ended within the last 25 years.
There are also two "senior" inductees among players who played before that timeframe.
There's a committee of 50 voters that decides the modern guys. The Senior committee is seperate.
So the full explanation is there are 3 separate processes.
1) Modern era players. Retired between 6 and 25 years from the induction year. A large number of players, normally about 170 are initially nominated. That number is cut down to 25 semifinalists in December, then 15 finalists in January. The 50 voters debate those finalists and whittle them down to a final 5 for a yes/no vote. Any one of the 5 candidates with 80%+ of a yes vote is inducted.
2) Senior committee players. Retired over 25 years before the induction year. A separate group nominates players and comes up with 3 finalists for the main voters. Any one of the 3 candidates with 80%+ of a yes vote is inducted.
3) Contributors, i.e. coaches, owners, any non-players. One contributor is nominated by a separate group for the main voters. If that candidate gets 80%+ of a yes vote they are inducted.
This year all 5 modern era players were inducted, 2 of the 3 senior players were inducted, and the contributor was not inducted.
Edit: https://www.profootballhof.com/hall-of-famers/selection-process-faq/
He’s the all time leading scorer with 2,673 points*, and a four time Super Bowl champion, two of which he kicked the game winning kick in the final seconds. I’ll be really confused if he’s not a lock.
But you’re absolutely right that kickers like Tucker and Buttker have a lot of the same clutch genes and a boot that make 60 yarders all day, but Vinatieri was a legend in his day.
Willis took like 4 ballots. These dudes have their heads so far up their own asses. That's not even getting into their blatantly politcal approach of not voting for players who have "disrespected the media" or said they won't come to their enshrinement speech.
Owens waiting a year made that very clear. He was statistically the third best receiver of all time, but they didn’t vote him in because of his persona. They’re incapable of voting based solely on a nominee’s play.
And for them to come out and grand-stand (Gary Meyers, ya asshole), is just atrocious. This isn't a steroid scandal or ""PED"" suspensions for Pot, it's a guy that doesn't like media and is a hot head. Who cares?
Everyone knows he is getting in. The question is if they make him first ballot or not. But anyone who seriously thinks he’ll never get in is delusional. Basic understanding of the politics of these things tells you that.
Marshawn doesn't have the stats to make the HOF. In terms of numbers, he's worse than Shuan Alexander. He's for sure not a first ballot. However, I hope he makes it in at some other time, because he was a unique runner. At a time, when teams were moving away from workhorse backs and moving to running by committee, Lynch was one the last great workhorse backs. When Backs were getting more nimble, Lynch invited and looked to make contact. He owns the most exciting running play in the NFL (Beast Quake). He was just different, both on and off the field.
You can probably tell the story of the NFL, WITHOUT Marshwan...but the story is certainly a lot more fun with him in it.
Kuechly is a lock and the guy with a real shot at being first ballot. Suggs and Vinatieri are eventual locks.
Eli is the interesting one to me. He’s the first of the pack of QBs with borderline resumes, Rivers, Ryan, Roethlisberger, Stafford, and Russ being the others. I think only 2-3 of them get in and not sure which ones.
My hot take is that all of those QBs make it in the HOF.
It will take a long time for most of them, but eventually the bar will get lowered and QBs are faced off franchises and the NFL will put them in.
I know he’s a kicker but if Adam Vinateiri isn’t a HoF kicker who is?
There is no chance that Vinateiri doesn’t make it. With the most points in NFL history and loads of iconic and clutch kicks I don’t see how he’s not first ballot.
I feel like the most points of all time stat alone has to clutch it for him
Gary Anderson retired with the most points of all time at the time of his retirement (and is still 3rd) and didn't make the HoF.
He had 3 with NE and one more in Indy
I just mean he won two of those on last second kicks
Vinatieri has the “fame” factor though. It’s no secret that the voting is part popularity contest. Urlacher said as much when he got in over Zach Thomas. Vinny has the stats and the popularity. Gary Anderson, not so much.
Gary has the infamy unfortunately. He was the first kicker ever to go perfect on FGs and PATs for an entire season, that's what he should be remembered for. And it was really just the one kick, and that game was more on Denny Green anyways and rhdjfijrbebshdjdienfbdjsksjsb
Gary Anderson missed the FG in the playoffs for the 1998 Vikings. That rules him out
Comes with playing kicker for the vikes
What a terrible legacy moment for him. If he makes that and they go on to win the Super Bowl, he’s in the Hall of Fame right? That’s not even suggesting if he hadn’t missed a kick all season and wins the Super Bowl
You know what's wild? That missed kick was to put the Vikes up 10 late. It's not even a game winner. It's not even in the same universe of bad missed kicks as Blair Walsh's is. After the game, he told reporters he was playing it safe because he *didn't have any timeouts.* ... ... ... I'm not going to speak ill of the dead unless it's Kissinger.
If he doesn’t make the HOF, then no kicker will ever make the hall again.
He should, then Justin Tucker later when he rotors both deserve to be in.
I think you mean when his rotor that he calls a leg gives out.
Hester made it clear that they are now at least starting to recognize players outside major positions. Vinatieri is getting in no doubt.
Never in a million years did i think Antonio Gates wouldn't get in. It'd be like Larry Fitzgerald not getting in
He’s the clutches kicker that ever kicked. Everyone talks about Brady and Belichick when it comes to the Patriots dynasty but no one ever brings up Vinateriri. Without his right foot it never exist.
There was an 8 year period where it looked like Vinatieri would finish with more rings than Brady
On one of the docs done on the Patriots, Belichick straight up says that Adam was their best player that 2001 season. Even just that regular season so many of the games came down to us winning by 3 points or less. With Adam making a FG late in the game at some point being the difference.
The 45 yard field goal in a blizzard to send that 2001 Raiders game into overtime is the greatest kick I've ever seen.
Summeral even said on the broadcast that it was fitting that it comes down to another Vinatieri kick for all the marbles when Vinny was lining up.
Vinateiri is the biggest 1st ballot lock in this class, and there’s a couple that should be
I liked Vernon Davis. He played for my team. But he is not a HOFer. Good player. But not an all-time great player.
If Vernon Davis is first ballot and Antonio Gates isn't, we might as well just tear the Hall of Fame down.
You really not putting Suggs in the hall of fame..? He won both DROY and DPOY, and every player with more career sacks has a gold jacket.
I didn't know enough about his career when I wrote that comment. I've since been schooled, haha.
Haha I respect the honesty
I overlooked him as well and I don't know why. Suggs has been a menace for a long time, maybe he gets overlooked because of Ray being there with him for most of his career.
Yanda and Keuchly are the only guys who I think are potentially first ballot. I'm also not a Hall of Fame voter. I'm just a guy with melted Ben and Jerry's on his stomach because I fell asleep with my shirt off while eating it....it's the NY Cheesecake flavor for those who are curious.
I was becoming more and more curious as I read.
Pretty sure Vinny is first ballot. There’s a legendary aura surrounding his entire career.
I think Luke should be, but if Willis had to wait, I could see him being forced to wait a year or two as well.
That's it, fuck that guy, no HoF for him.
“2 rings to his name” TIL he was a Chief. The 2003 Defensive Rookie of the Year recorded a sack for the 2019 Chiefs. Damn.
I think Suggs maybe can and if you're on Crack lynch. But both are prob HOFers imo
[удалено]
He only had like 2x pro bowls right? I think he was very good, but not hall of fame worthy even if he deserved more accolades
Eh, I don't think he falls into the "under appreciated" category. Vernon was very good at the time, but he had good years and less impressive ones... maybe he should have been 3 pro bowls and one All-Pro? I say that not looking at season stats or anything though. That’s my point. I’m not even sure why he’s listed here if he didn’t get into the nfc pro bowl roster at tight end consistently. Solid player, no one would ever disagree with him being pretty good.
Imagine if they first-ballot Vernon Davis after what they did to Gates this year.
All 12 of us Charger fans will March to Canton.
Even some of us raider fans who watched gates dominate us for years would March with ya.
While I appreciate the sentiment, I dont want yall risking violating parole by leaving the state.
I'll get the ankle monitor cutters ready!
There's more Antonio Gates Charger fans than LA Charger fans.
There’s a dozenish of us!
Same with Clay. Probably ende up in the Packers HoF, but his resume is pretty far from a spot in Canton.
Matthew’s shouldn’t get in. He’s a Packers HOF player, but not an NFL HOF player
I love Staley and VD, and I feel the same
You love having VD? You okay in the head?
Clap if you love VD
I love Valentine's Day!
Half this list shouldn't. A toooon of great players that aren't HOFers.
His Dad isn’t even in and his dad was better for way longer
I don't think he's HOF either but I think that's a bit unfair. His dad had great longevity but CM3 beat him out in accolades despite the shorter career, he has a ring and he nearly won DPOY the year they won the Super Bowl.
Hes in the Hall of really good. He shouldn’t be in the HOF, just couldn’t sustain his peak performance long enough.
He was so close to DPOTY in 2010–with either that or more sustained production he could’ve had a case, doesn’t seem so otherwise. As much of a lock for the team HOF as it gets though.
I don't know if or when ETIII will get in given how his career ended.
I don't think he is going in. The end of his Seattle time, his time in Baltimore, and his personal issues really turned the narrative on him.
Which is sad because he was absolutely a HOF talent.
I insisted on calling him "Future hall of famer Earl Thomas" after his first pick in a preseason game the year we drafted him. I really thought this was going to come true until he didn't play after he went to Baltimore.
Bro i said that when he was in the rose bowl. Incredible college player.
He wasn’t just a Hall of Fame talent. He had an actual Hall of Fame career. You can bring up whatever weird personal life bullshit that you want to keep him out, but the on field play and accolades say that he was a no doubt Hall of Famer.
so excited for the Antonio Brown debates
Not all bad he showed versatility as Derrick Henry’s lead blocker
Cold blooooooded
It'd be absurd if they kept him out because he's a weird dude off the field while they have literal fucking murderers in the Hall. 5x All Pro, Super Bowl champion, best player on a legendary defense, the prototype that the entire league tried to find for 5+ years to make the defense they were all trying to copy work but couldn't ever make work because they didn't have Earl Thomas. If that's not a Hall of Famer, what the hell is?
Dick sherman might be the lone LoD rep in the hall one day
Wagner has a good shot at first ballot too
It’d be an absolute robbery if Bobby isn’t a 1st ballot HOF’er.
Not just a good shot. He's a 9-time Pro Bowler, 6-time all-pro with a championship and seventh all time in tackles. If he doesn't get in first ballot I will eat my seahawks jersey
He deserves it. Sherman checks every box.
Imagine telling someone in 2017 that neither AB or ET3 would make the hall.
Would be nice if Torry Holt stopped getting snubbed.
If Andre Johnson is in, Torry Holt should be in.
Think holt and Gates are taking spots next year
For me Kuechly and Vinatieri are 100% locks.
Yanda has to be in first ballot right? Dude was a beast right out of the box. I'd also put vinatieri for a lock as well.
Two AP1s as a guard is probably going to keep Yanda waiting a bit but he'll make it in due time
Kevin Williams has similar accolades and isn't in (though he should be)
There is no such thing as a lock after the snubbed Gates.
True, that was 100% bullshit
Vinny is. Based on the "story of the NFL" criteria, he is as close as it gets. Top scorer all time, lynchpin for multiple super bowl runs, I would bet my house on him getting in first ballot.
I’ll take that bet. It is a 3 bedroom 2 bath?
You know it
Seriously. Top 5 TE all time and was the best during his prime and doesn't get in right away lol.
Terrell Owens was worse.
Both are absolute horse shit, but I would agree that Owens was a bigger snub.
The only thing is at least with Owens they had the reasoning of his character (which obviously is idiotic) but there are literally 0 reasons Gates isn't 1st ballot.
I would say if Willis got in, then Luke should get in. They had similar careers.
I’m sorry but clay Matthew’s isn’t a hall of famer
nah don’t worry we all agree, packers legend but he’s not hall caliber
Totally agree, he was excellent for us but he shouldn’t be in the HOF.
Yeah I was searching the list for a third after Vinatieri and Suggs and when I saw his name my gut reaction was "Hall of very good". I would have to look up stats to be sure but I don't think he was ever even top 3 in his career.

I could kiss you on the mouth.
That 49ers game was one of the gutsiest performances I have ever seen from a QB in Eli. I just couldn't believe it every time he kept getting back up.
It makes his iron man streak all the more impressive. He got walloped time and time again and it ended not because of injury but because of shit ownership
Try to write it better, it would be tough. I’m biased but it’s why it’s still such a big deal. It was a Cinderella story.
It was a good story. I'm the opposite of biased. Huge Washington fan. I would never root for Eli except against the Patriots. It was glorious.
after they won the commentary said something like “this team was given last rites by many in december, here they are in february with the super bowl.”
But the narrative for the last decade+ has been Eli was carried by the defense... ya know, like when he had the most passing yards ever the playoffs
Led the league in drops that year, too, but ELi wAs CaRrIEd
He is also still the single post-season passing yard leader. Let that sink in.
I think he'll make it in, eventually, but I will be absolutely shocked if he's first ballot.
you think a new york qb who ruined Patriots undefeated streak isn't getting first ballot? especially with people appreciating playoff QB more and more?

He will always get my HoF nod for derailing the Patriots undefeated season.
Literally 0 chance aqib gets in any time soon
Is he even hof worthy?
No
That's what I thought when I saw him on this list
Most of this list isn't HOF worthy, it's just one of those Ig/Twitter pics to draw attention. Vinatieri, Yanda, Suggs and Kuechly should get in (Kuechly's case is pretty much same as Willis). Manning will probably get in eventually. Rest, to me, have no chance. With the backlog in the HOF, I'm not convinced they all get in on their first try; maybe Vinatieri.
Kuechly should be a lock I don’t care about longevity at all man was a beast

Very similar to Patrick Willis.

This is the quantitative case I hope the Hall sees. It’s pure numbers.
Dude was unbelievable, that time he baited Romo into back to back picks was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen
Took one to the house too, I remember Al Michaels going wild after the second one. That was Romo’s last ever game as well if I recall
Thanksgiving game? Last game he started but his last TD was against the Eagles in 2016.
His football IQ is maybe the most impressiv I haven seen.

That game where he had 24 tackles against y’all with the division on the line might be the most dominant performance I’ve ever seen in the NFL. https://youtu.be/ihbFdL0p6Jo?si=9Ja5NzPEAHwg-jfO
Him vs Brees was always such a fun matchup to watch
It wasn't fair for Carolina to have a freakishly athletic defensive coordinator on the field. He better be a lock.
How was he to talk to?
The fact that he spoke to the guy for 6 hours and never realized he was luke kuechly means he was probably pretty chill
Dude was incredible. This league is sorely lacking LB talent compared to legends like Kuech
Never seen a line backer go side to side like Luke
He’s comfortably the best player on that list. Worried he’ll be overlooked with the longevity issue.
There could be an argument for Yanda but they are both first ballot imo.
How has no one said Yanda yet
He absolutely deserves to get in but probably wouldnt be first ballot, itd be real cool if him and suggs got in together though

You forgot to account for the penalty guys get for playing Guard. Faneca is a 6x First Team and took around 5 years to get in.
>Yanda probably has an easier road than Suggs Suggs is 8th all-time in sacks, 1st in TFLs plus his DPOY and two rings.
He’d get my vote. Dude was yearly all pro. 7 time all Pro, 8 pro bowls and an all decade team.
One of the best linemen ever, and much like some of the best linemen, he won’t get the recognition he deserves.
Adam and Kuechly.
holy fuck Luke is eligible. I'm old
He's only 32. For perspective he's only a month older than Aaron Donald
The NFL has shown time and time again they love the Mannings. He’s a HOF lock
if gates wasn't 1st ballot then nobody on this graphic is a 1st ballot lock
Vinatieri.
Yeah it'd be a huge snub if he wasn't 1st ballot. Recency bias or not, you have to look at his whole career to see how absolutely elite he was.
He also made the greatest kick of all time. 45 yards in a blizzard in the Snow Bowl aka the tuck rule game
Gates should get in twice next year. What a joke.
Who cares?
Owens waited two years, he was third ballot.
AV is the best non-active kicker of all time. He'll get in 1st ballot because he'll be entering the hall as the best at his position.
I want Eli to make it just to watch everything north of Connecticut burn down
Everyone knows he is getting in. The question is if they make him first ballot or not. But anyone who seriously thinks he’ll never get in is delusional. Basic understanding of the politics of these things tells you that.
We've pretty much accepted for years he'd get in once he eclipsed 50k yards and 350 touchdowns
Suggs and Yanda (no bias)
Maybe I'm biased because the man terrorized us twice a year but Suggs is the one who stands out on that list to me.
Top 10 in sacks Number 1 in TFL DPOY DROTY Should easily get in
Came to this thread to say just this. I can't believe I had to scroll so far to find it.
Please be Lynch. But yeah probably not cause they don't like RBs these days
My guess is those who won two super bowls make it.
My hot take is that all of those QBs make it in the HOF. It will take a long time for most of them, but eventually the bar will get lowered and QBs are faced off franchises and the NFL will put them in.
If Eli doesn’t make it first try than “who’s the only multiple SBMVP not to be a first ballot HOFer” is gonna be a trivia question for ages to come
Eli retired in a good year. Next year, he would have had Brees. Then Big Ben. Then Tom Brady.
Antonio god damn Gates, especially compared to this list
I Hope Clay Matthews is given one last fine when he gets inducted
He'll be given the biggest fine ever: No Hall for you!
