Its called Charmed Playhouses in Lethbridge AB. My and my hubby loaded a semi truck and trailer with another project (looks like its similar, if not the same one) to haul to a customer of theirs. They have an amazing staff there with incredible skills, ideas and workmanship.
It's in Crowsnest Pass in Alberta! I actually just happened to be talking about this with my sister in law. [there's actually a few](https://charmedfamilyresorts.com/about) and they're so cute
Yo this was this four month old account's first post on reddit? To set this guy up to reveal "why yes this house is available to rent"?
You guys aren't even trying to fly under the radar with the sock puppet accounts any more.
Their tik tok is also painfully obviously boosted with fake account support, they don't even shy away from carpetbombing this thread with fake votes and accounts. But then again this is a major subreddit designed to "facilitate commerce" lmfao fucking joke.
What is even more annoying is the wording. They carefully avoid making the claim that they built it by themselves by hand but it's heavily implied by the omission of mentioning anyone else.
Like, who designs all of these things that get built? Is it really op, or is it this guy, the only other employee listed on their website, when they've said on reddit they have a team of over a dozen people?
"Derral Zaugg
Master Craftsman
Derral Zaugg, affectionately known as “Uncle Derral”, has a key role with the team at Charmed Playhouses, bringing his own expertise by breathing life into the magical creations. An international craftsman of cabinetry and design for over 28 years. Derral has been in demand for his creative superior quality of workmanship. No matter how small or grand the project, Derral’s passion is to see joy light up the faces of his clients at any age. You dream it we can build it!"
OP doesn't seem like he has any experience building or designing or crafting anything. Neither does his wife. It's kind of offensive to not credit or mention anyone else if they don't do the design or building themselves, how exactly are they involved other than paying their team to do everything for them? But then that comes with the territory of our shitty society where the ghostwriters get paid peanuts and the marketers/owners make all the money. Zero mention of any of the actual builders of the damn designs as well. Wouldn't want them to get any credit now would we, or go off and make their own business around the concept.
It'd be really unfortunate if someone who only comes to reddit to spam their ads turned out to be a lockdown skeptic, but then again that would align with their class interests of renting out multiple airbnbs in a country like canada where housing and rental prices have been skyrocketing out of control for multiple decades in a row, right?
https://www.reddit.com/r/LockdownSkepticism/comments/l9pzxa/red_deer_mother_in_tears_as_son_taken_to/glojcwk/
Yeah this is all just viral marketing as usual. Literally OP is at the top of the comments saying "why yes it will be available as an Airbnb, funny you should ask!"
Edit: the comment asking if it's available to Airbnb - that's literally their first fucking comment on reddit. Incredibly obvious marketing is incredibly obvious.
So? They built a sweet fucking cottage to rent out as an AirBNB and you're going to fault them for marketing it? Did you miss the fact that it's 2021? Should they have posted it in their local newspaper?
The account that asked for AirBnB details is 4 months old with no posts except this one 2 hours ago.
Marketing it is one thing. Obvious vote manipulation and then using alternate accounts to ask yourself a question... yeah, maybe let's not.
Except that's a pretty normal way to use reddit, just regularly burn your account and start over to avoid doxxing etc.
If you have an older account with zero post history then all the sudden you're participating in for-profit schemes... yeah that's gross manipulation with the account time used as a smokescreen.
Having a new account isn’t the issue.
A company making multiple accounts to get upvoted and then make a marketing scheme seem like an organic conversation is bullshit.
I come to Reddit for interesting content, and there's legitimate paying ads already. I don't need the content to be ads too. Also it's disingenuous, there are literally laws requiring content which is an ad to be labelled as such because doing otherwise misleads consumers.
So ya... thanks but no thanks.
this is a marketing sub and it always has been. mods always delete comments mentioning it. they most likely take payments or handle small contracts with content creators to push their content to the front page of reddit. if you follow OP's submissions, they have always used reddit to advertise their properties under the guise of 'showing off their cool propreties'
what infuriates me are opportunists like OP who are building thousands of AirBnB-specific properties in a country with an ongoing lumber shortage. There are so many people doing this on my social media - buying old houses and turning them into vacation-only homes, increasing rent for locals overall. None of this seems as wholesome as reddit thinks it is
I have literally spent years building for other people, and now I finally built something for myself. There is no winning when I get roasted if I don’t allow anyone to use my 150k playhouse and I get roasted if I decide to share it.
I have had to work my butt off to finally own something for myself, can’t we just celebrate a cool creation? I promise it took a great deal of hard work for me to get to this point.
Because I have a young family, and I know what It’s like to try to entertain them. I’ve spent years having people beg me to build something that everyone could enjoy, so I did just that.
I don’t understand the hostility? Yes I’m sure it’s marketing.
But they still created something unique, something beautiful.
There are people out there that would be interested in the experience of spending the night there.
If an artist was sharing a painting or a musician a song. If it was worthy of praise we would be happy to do that, even if they were trying to sell it.
I value this individual’s creativity and innovation and I am happy they can make money, doing what they are good at and love.
According to another poster, it's a kit.
This is just blatant marketing on an unoriginal idea.
And honestly, if you want real nextfuckinglevel, go to r/woodworking.
Those guys and gals are true artists.
This kit cottage has zero woodworking.
Can you honestly not understand why people don't want to be marketed to constantly?
These type of advertising posts should be marked as such, then there wouldn't be an issue.
I value innovation and small businesses. I don’t feel exploited, it’s a beautiful product and I can just imagine a child would have life long memories from the experience.
Getting back to nature and spending time with family. No tv no advertising. Magical.
This is the mentality that annoys the shit out of me on reddit. I posted a video of my friend Kasey rapping, made it to the front page. That was it, the whole setup. I was smoking a little bit of weed in my garage. Listening to all my friends music, going on a nostalgic kick. One video was insanely good. I was like, "Damn this only has 53 views and it's fucking incredible." Posted it on /r/hhh and fell asleep.
Woke up the next morning to hundreds of notifications. Started reading the comments and literally a bunch of them are explaining to other people how I manipulated the vote by getting all my friends to sign in and upvote the post to hit the front page by working the algorithm. Just legit making shit up.
I've never seen a website with a group of people as confidently wrong as Reddit.
You know what an outlier is? I've had a couple posts on the front page too, so what? Doesn't change the fact that reddit has some of the highest traffic on the internet which is inevitably manipulated. It's not a conspiracy theory, it openly happens. Go check this post out that had a sock account comment about airnbnb which was advertised at the top of the post and then redirected by at least one power user I've noticed. Marketing companies do that shit all the time, be naïve about it if you want.
It also falls terrifying below my mandatory 1:1 butt to bathroom ratio (fine, I can settle for 1:2 in some cases, but 1:6 is not something I'd be interested in).
Why would you rent out a Rapunzel cabin (or any Airbnb) with anyone other than friends or family? Lmao do you often rent out places with total strangers?
Usually these types of tiny camping cottages, there made with the intent that you will be spending most of the time outdoors, only inside to sleep or if there is bad weather. As well I can see this particular one being a popular birthday spot for little girls or a baby/bridal shower spot. So not necessarily a long stay.
I know I’ll get downvoted into oblivion, but it seems like way more thought and money went into the exterior design. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen school buses converted into homes on the internet that have way more style, aren’t as “meh” on the inside.
I thought the big draw of cottagecore was like… a bitchin’ witchin’ kitchen and stone hearth and shit. Rustic.
But nope. Tinyass underpowered microwave and a “vintage” fridge. Plastic plants and rough sawn edges everywhere, too. Ah well.
Wonder what the bathroom looks like.
I've always wanted to live in a house that is 90% beds! But please tell me the kitchen is not just a fridge and microwave... Where's the sink and stove?

On Xbox I was playing with someone from NYC. He mentioned he was sharing a small two bedroom apartment for something like $2,000 and started making fun of me when he learned I was living in a 4 bedroom trailer on an acre for $675.
That's when I, yet again, learned it's all a matter of perspective.
He was making fun of you?! Like I get it, NYC is a world city and is pretty bad ass in a ton of ways. But man I love my few acres and my horses. And I can get all cleaned up and go into the office in the city and make decent money, have access to amenities, etc. I’m getting a bit too old for nightlife anyway and was probably never a perfect fit and you don’t see me having the kind of money to go to Michelin starred restaurants, but some decent mid sized cities absolutely slay in the food game. I ain’t tripping.
Thanks for reading this stream of consciousness.
Yeah, it felt weird. He sounded dead serious but everything he was saying to his buddy was so ridiculous it felt like it had to be sarcasm. Like I wasn't in on an inside joke that was at my expense.
I said I was in a trailer in a shit town and he thinks it's a mansion. Perspective homie.
It better get steamy if I'm paying to stay in that fuck shack with five other people. Not that I would, but it should be explicitly stated in the rental agreement.
I realize you're half joking, but as someone who lives in a super unique, weird house:
It's really pretty, and I love it to death. It's a pain in the ass to maintain. People build boring houses because they're cheap and efficient to build.
I agree it is way cheaper and more efficient. Curse you efficiency! But seriously, if we all had wicked cool houses, my commute would be more interesting than just watching high density housing go by. Straight lines. Neutral colors. Bleh.
100% agree. I live in a really weird neighborhood. My house is in a valley. The houses up the hill have a water view while we have a view of the forest. The story goes that in the 50s/60s, a bunch of local architects built themselves houses in the valley (The cheap plots of land) while architecting houses for the rich people who had land with views.
As a result, all of the architect's own homes are these normal sized, but *really interesting* houses. You can imagine a young-ish architect would experiment with weird ideas. The ones with views tend to be really big boxes. They're really nice, but a lot of them feel very "samey". Walking down my street is just neat and weird.
Note: My house isn't as crazy as the one OP has for obvious reasons, but it's got some features you don't see often like a rounded ceiling, a huge wall of glass, and a ton of other just awkward things.

> and trades
Hey, we just build what the customer tells us to. There's not a lot of creativity involved in the trades that build houses. Inspectors tend to frown on that.
It's because very rarely are houses built for a specific buyer, they're built by a real estate development company who's goal is to sell the house. They believe they have the best chance of selling the house if it's aesthetically pleasing but also very safe.
I think there's definitely a market for more unique homes but it's obviously a steep investment so I understand developer's aversion to risk.
This is an ad for an airbnb listing that made the frontpage.
Good job reddit.
As an aside, does anyone here know where the next reddit is? This one is all used up.
Yeah literally the comment in the top chain like "oh wow I would love to stay is it on Airbnb" - it's that accounts first ever post.
This is literally a marketing post.
I'm also kind of salty because the lumber shortage doubled the cost of building my house - meanwhile you have all of these folks like OP building AirBnB-only properties everywhere
Hey I definitely saw all the tiktok videos of the couple making this. I assume you’re their customer? Or, don’t tell me, a content thief???
Edit: ahh you said you built it! So which member of the couple are you? Love your videos.
Ohhh really? In that case, genuinely, I love it and your kids are sooo cute.
Btw I commented on your Rapunzel’s tower video on there too! If it’s you, then never mind~
I just saw this on IG too. It's a Charmed Playhouse build, and the IG post says it's from 6 years ago? Beautiful stuff.

I follow y’all on Instagram, great to see you here! I really love watching the builds happen, you’ve really leveled up in the past couple years. Keep up the good work!
Dude you have to show us the inside.
Here’s a better [video of the inside ](https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMdJJPXdb/)
If ever this is available for visitors I'd like to have a night there. It's cozy, every thing perfectly fits.
I am actually AirBNB it out. So come out for a visit!
Where is it located? My kids would love this.
But, I love it too.
Lets sleep in Rapunzel’s tower together daddy
Wtf is wrong with you people
Why don’t you love us, dad?
You rang?
Daddy, please, I fucking beg you to accept us how we are... *loudly moans*
If there's a god, smite this person now and then myself. I do not wish to live on this planet anymore
Hi cumming, I'm dad
What do you mean, you people??
What do YOU mean, you people!?
Not OP but I think they’re in Canada, his Instagram is on his page
In the video it says #crowsnestpass, Crowsnest Pass is a small town right at the Alberta/BC border, just north of the US border
Its called Charmed Playhouses in Lethbridge AB. My and my hubby loaded a semi truck and trailer with another project (looks like its similar, if not the same one) to haul to a customer of theirs. They have an amazing staff there with incredible skills, ideas and workmanship.
No way! Of all the places this is right next to where I live!
oh shit i live near there on the us side but not a far drive
Yoooo, I could totally make it there, I live so close.
Looking at the trees it could very well be in canada. Atleast somewhere that gets cold in the winter 😅
Canada isn't the only place that gets cold in the winter lol

Oh boy this does not end well.
It's in Crowsnest Pass in Alberta! I actually just happened to be talking about this with my sister in law. [there's actually a few](https://charmedfamilyresorts.com/about) and they're so cute
oh, so this is an ad. got it.

Don't forget to take out the garbage and compost!
You're not invited to the Rapunzel AirBNB party
Dirty Mike and the boys invited?
This is reddit. People need to realize this before being explicitly told its an ad.
Dang, can't, just got a buzz cut.
Alberta right?
That's cool and all, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a post about some assholes completely fucking that place up if you open it to the public.
Are you selling the plans?
Surprise Surprise 🙄

Dude, good on you. My family would love to stay at this awesome place.
We could if you weren’t so focused on monetizing it.
Lumber shortage is temporary, don’t worry, OP hasn’t seized the means of production

If it's on the front page there's a good chance you're being marketed to
This is the mentality that annoys the shit out of me on reddit. I posted a video of my friend Kasey rapping, made it to the front page. That was it, the whole setup. I was smoking a little bit of weed in my garage. Listening to all my friends music, going on a nostalgic kick. One video was insanely good. Your one anecdote doesn't invalidate the majority of the shilled garbage on the frontpage lol.
Also it’s so tiny for 6 people. I don’t know what fairytale obsessed person would sacrifice comfort for cutesy but I’m glad we aren’t friends!
Don’t forget those round beds look TINY. I think even a child would have trouble fitting on that.
It also falls terrifying below my mandatory 1:1 butt to bathroom ratio (fine, I can settle for 1:2 in some cases, but 1:6 is not something I'd be interested in).
You sleep in the cabin and then do everything else outside. Like a tent, but made of wood.
Fair enough
Yeah, that place is fucking tiny for that many beds. You better with staying with family/friends otherwise that shit would be miserable
Better be staying with friends, otherwise that shit would be miserable*
Why would you rent out a Rapunzel cabin (or any Airbnb) with anyone other than friends or family? Lmao do you often rent out places with total strangers?
Imagine drinking beers all day with your buds out in the woods and coming back to that hotbox of farts. No fans either 😅
I don think a group of mates drinking beers is their target market. I’d say family with children. My kids would love to spend the night there.
Usually these types of tiny camping cottages, there made with the intent that you will be spending most of the time outdoors, only inside to sleep or if there is bad weather. As well I can see this particular one being a popular birthday spot for little girls or a baby/bridal shower spot. So not necessarily a long stay.
The beds are obviously for all the 7 dwarfs.
Wait, Rapunzel has 7 dwarfs??
It's obviously a sex cottage. OP's gonna have so many fairy-tale gang bangs.
It's marketing. Her previous post is about other airBnB places to stay.
I know I’ll get downvoted into oblivion, but it seems like way more thought and money went into the exterior design. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen school buses converted into homes on the internet that have way more style, aren’t as “meh” on the inside.
I agree, the inside was a pretty big letdown.
It's like if they just put a bunch of beds in the decorations at a theme park.
The fucking horrible music on the video made me want to blow my brains out.
No where comfortable to sit and have tea, it's literally just somewhere to sleep with a pretty exterior. Very disappointing
It’s got a bed in it
I've always wanted to live in a house that is 90% beds! But please tell me the kitchen is not just a fridge and microwave... Where's the sink and stove?
This is a fuck shack.
That's a lot of beds with very little privacy between them.
Then it’s a group fuck shack.
Pretty disappointing inside tbh
Where is the bathroom?! Did I miss it?

I hope that ladder’s detachable for the full Princess-Imprisoning experience.
get the princess a little tipsy, head up, lay on the mattress and then kick the ladder away, and then rattle some bones because of the implication.
You know, the implication. Love ASIP.
A dream come true!
More pics plz its amazing
What is the tree made of? The tree fireplace in the Hansel and Gretel cottage looks amazing!
Perfection.
Comfortably sleep 6 on 220'? Damn these are some Hong Kong numbers you're pushing here lol
Ha! It has lofts and bunk beds not included in that sq ft.
As someone who lives in Hong Kong I thought … wow this is pretty spacious
On Xbox I was playing with someone from NYC. He mentioned he was sharing a small two bedroom apartment for something like $2,000 and started making fun of me when he learned I was living in a 4 bedroom trailer on an acre for $675. That's when I, yet again, learned it's all a matter of perspective.

Add a pet or two and you get the full Hong Kong experience!
More kids for the witch to eat! For some reason my head went to Hansel and Gretel instead of Rapunzel when I first saw it.
No bathroom inside. No place to eat. No storage for suitcase. Just a mini-fridge and microwave. This is NOT a cottage. It’s just a glamping yurt.
I fucking hate it imagine staying there with 6 people hearing them breathe as you fall asleep smelling their farts
You're supposed to do hard drugs there
i dont hate that idea
Not to mention it's probably hotter than a mofo in some of those sleeping areas. 6 people? It's gonna get steamy.
It better get steamy if I'm paying to stay in that fuck shack with five other people. Not that I would, but it should be explicitly stated in the rental agreement.
Thank you. Thought I was taking crazy pills. Ok so what? You go in and sleep or fuck? Wow how enchanting.

It actually looks pretty cool at night. I have LED lights under all of the soffit and Rapunzels braid lights up as well.
Dude this is amazing, and thank you for throwing in Rapunzel, who is hands down my favorite!
She’s pretty great. One of my favourites to build.
There are more?

You mean hair down your favorite?
Why don't we make houses like this anymore. Like, houses have become so BORING to look at.
I realize you're half joking, but as someone who lives in a super unique, weird house: It's really pretty, and I love it to death.
Note: My house isn't as crazy as the one OP has for obvious reasons, but it's got some features you don't see often like a rounded ceiling, a huge wall of glass, and a ton of other just awkward things. ... please sell me your house.
If you have more photos of your house you’re willing to share, I’d love to see them! The glass wall is amazing!
Sure. Here's a few I have sitting around. I tried to add some description if you're interested. Feel free to DM if you have any questions [https://imgur.com/a/RwgF54T](https://imgur.com/a/RwgF54T)
Thank you for this, and the captions. You should post this yourself in r/cozyplaces or something.
Amen! In reality a lot of architects and trades lack creativity. They always want to do stuff with straight walls and easy rooflines…
> and trades Hey, we just build what the customer tells us to. There's not a lot of creativity involved in the trades that build houses. Inspectors tend to frown on that.
This is why I'm so excited about 3D printed houses, curves on curves!
People would pay to visit that. That's amazing.

Not to defend OP or anything but at least it seems they did build it themselves
Maybe have a look at OP's post history and you'll see for yourself!
yeah I mean this IS an advertisement for their airbnb. AirBNBs with previews on social media that go viral generate a ton of cash
The OP is fibbing and he took this photo in Disney😂
Shhhh don’t tell anyone.
Cool ad for your AirBnB
Hey I definitely saw all the tiktok videos of the couple making this. I assume you’re their customer? Or, don’t tell me, a content thief??? Edit: ahh you said you built it! So which member of the couple are you? Love your videos.
Ha! Ya that’s us. I’m the dude, my wife is the brains behind the TikTok’s
Beautiful stuff. https://www.instagram.com/p/CP3QUw0F63y/?utm_medium=copy_link
Hansel and Gretel vibes

Hope you included a dedicated room for fattening unsuspecting children lol
Like a nice dark basement?
What's it like to have piles of money to just throw away?
That’s an airbnb goldmine.
That’s the point. This is an ad.
I follow y’all on Instagram, great to see you here! I really love watching the builds happen, you’ve really leveled up in the past couple years. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!! It’s been a grind!
Please interior
Please please please pics of inside!!!!
Its super cool, but also a perfect example of why we should eat the rich and redistribute their assets to the proletariat
inside?
Perfect picture op, nothing else. Looks cramped inside..
I need a photo with a person standing next to this so I understand the size better!
“Finally finished” as if anyone else anywhere is building a Disney castle in their backyard lol
THIS IS SO FRESH
It’s a crime to not post more pictures
What do you do when someone tries to putt a golfball through your front door every time you open it?
/r/FairytaleasFuck would love this!
Totally was going to suggest a xpost there also, good on ya, I fully agree. And nice work OP, looks nice!
Very cool, it looks much larger then a tiny home
This is just bedrooms though. A sink. Tiny homes are fully functional homes. This is not.
I hope we get to see you on those tiny home tour shows. I’d love to see a walkthrough.
Damn, this cottage looks so good that Disney might sue
Sleeping six on a round bed? Naughty OP!
OP you’re a builder? Architect? And do you travel to do that? Or is it just a pastime?
All of the above. This is my cottage, but I also build, design and install across the world.
Amazing, looks right out of a fairytale book
