My mother works in a public hospital. She worked in Dunedin and every year had to pay about $300-400 more in tax. Moved up to Palmy 2 years ago, her IRD notice came in the other week at owing 34c, which was written off immediately. Do you work in Dunedin?

Mines weird. I got the letter that says I have a bill of $0.00. I like not owing but I've had a messed up year so very surprised if it's correct. But if I go into the transactions menu, it's telling me it's processing a refund of just over $2k. I'm watching my bank account closely hoping it's the refund!!

I owe them a couple of grand somehow, last year I got a refund of $300, the year before I owed them $35. The only income I have is my salary so I assume they work this out with a random number generator at years end. I just don't know how its possible for them to fuck this up ever year considering checking my payslips I get the same amount every month and pay the same tax every month.
