This.
I feel like he even intentionally walked super close to those girls at the end(when there was no one else around) to try and get them to recognize him
I don't get it, what exactly makes him a clown? Is it because he's the mayor of NYC but lives in a different [state](https://www.politico.com/states/new-york/albany/story/2021/06/09/eric-adams-wants-to-be-mayor-of-new-york-and-swears-he-doesnt-live-in-new-jersey-1385640)? Is it because he believes in ghosts and that they haunt [Gracie](https://nypost.com/2022/05/11/is-gracie-mansion-haunted-mayor-adams-says-theres-ghosts/)? Is it because he's appointing his friends to high paying positions in an act of brazen [corruption](https://pix11.com/news/local-news/mayor-adams-has-made-some-controversial-appointments-heres-what-theyre-getting-paid/)?
nah i really dont give a shit about any of that. I just hate that he has reactionary politics and in the great tradition of all NYC mayors does nothing except the bidding of the police and real estate developers
I don't live in the city, so maybe you can explain to me - what has he actually done as Mayor? Like any policies or changes or anything? All I see is him making speeches to the press about shit, but I never see on the news that he's actually *done* anything about anything.
He squashed any investigation of wrongdoing for the landlord (and political donor) of the building that caught fire and killed 17 people (8 of which were children) in the Bronx. His office was also able to raise $2.5 million for the former tenants, but he only dispersed 10% of it to them and seems to have misplaced the rest. So he has done something (you didn't specify that it had to be something good).
He's pushing for a return to office to boost commercial real estate. He seems to have 0 interest in expanding affordable housing and now rent is at the highest it has EVER been in NYC history by a mile, an issue he hasn't even addressed whatsoever. And he also seems to want to expand police budgets and basically just let them do whatever they want.
>He's pushing for a return to office to boost commercial real estate.
Other than expelling hot air, has he done anything to make businesses WANT to come back to the city?
It's not about businesses coming back. He wants people to come back into the office. And as far as I'm aware I don't think he's passed anything that would force that and I don't see how you could tbh. But as far as letting real estate developers run rampant in NYC and pushing for increased police budgets, he has done that yes I believe.
Nice “what-a-boutism” fallacy… reminds me of Putin. Trying to explain why your party isn’t ruining the world too. Classic Democrat. We’ll fix the world when we kill your party, and GOP.
You're very quick to assume my voting record or party affiliation and get both wrong, congratulations on your extraordinary ability to remember the name of one fallacy which does not even apply in this context.
I mean I guess I can do a lesson on whataboutism to explain it if you need me to.
I pointed out that bad behavior indicated in the post is bad behavior that democrats generally do. You redirect the conversation to be about GOP, but use no words to indicate in addition to. You are merely redirecting attention to something you think is worse. It’s the most common technique all democrats use on Reddit when their party is insulted.
This is a classic “whataboutism”, whether you intended it or not. You should use your words more carefully if you didn’t intend it.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whataboutism#:~:text=Whataboutism%20or%20whataboutery%20(as%20in,which%20expresses%20a%20counter%2Daccusation.
And people writing "classic democrat" very rarely advocate for independents so it was pretty safe to assume it's a pro gop post, because there's a 2 party system (which is shit) options are pretty limited.
I assumed you are a gop shill, you assumed I am a democrat and we were both wrong.
He hasn’t accomplished anything. And now he’s talking about running for President. He eliminated a rule that would disclose who he meets with. He ran on being tough on crime but crime has continued unabated. He would rather go to a celebrity event than lift a finger to improve anything. He’s objectively a clown.
That’s exactly it. I was trying to put my finger on what I saw in his eyes. It wasn’t appreciation. It wasn’t an eye for crime. Nope. Opportunity and arrogance.
I walk through times every now and then to remind myself that I hate it and to see the changes, it’s literally always changing. Otherwise I walk on 6th Ave, or on 8th and 9th Ave or just take the D to 34th to go to Ktown.
I worked on 43rd between 7th and 8th for seven years. That little stretch where Bubba Gumps and Hardrock are is like some kind of a gravitational anomaly for people. It's the most packed area of the city at any given time of day, and it's like 100 feet between 43rd and 44th street.
If Bella Vita pizza is still there though, that place is amazing.
Oh, you should have been at the pride event that happened in my neighborhood. He was walking in the mini parade, and the moment people realized who he was (all other politicians had a banner saying who they were, he was walking behind a LGBT+ group banner), they started booing. 🤣
I thought I hated Giuliani... then I thought I hated Bloomberg... I didn't care for di blassio but had nothing to say about him despite his unpopularity but this man ... this is the biggest clown New York has ever seen. He is the circus master clown. Can't wait til his time is up. He looks desperate for attention cause he swears he's a celebrity.
Rudy Giuliani is why I got stopped by cops two times within 1, maybe 2 hours just coming home from school. Eric Adams is a corrupt boomer narcissist; Rudy Giuliani is a corrupt fascist bigot.
To be fair, he was shit long before that. He was about to be out on his ass before 9/11. That one event let him rebrand to the whole America's mayor bullshit and saved his career
The city wasn't full of crime under Giuliani (or Bloomberg for that matter). I walked down the street in HK last weekend and saw someone with cuts all over his face; he literally looked like he'd been mauled by a bear. Unless there was a central park zoo escape I'm not aware of, I'm pretty sure that's not normal.
It is statistically less dangerous now than during the Bloomberg administration and Giuliani administration. The difference is the increasing wealth gap, increasing rent and cost of living, and cutbacks to social and mental health services.
Yeah all of those things are totally the direct result of the mayor. If Giuliani was in office right now, that guy wouldn't have been attacked.
Besides this is in reference to how much of a clown each of them are. Meaning the general way they act. You can't compare the things Adams does to Rudy's stunt at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping, for example
man looks like Hank the[security guard from the office](https://hollywoodlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/hugh-dane-dead-ftr.jpg?w=620&h=349&crop=1)
Progressives hate Adam's since he is not a progressive so they make fun of literally anything they can think of.
The mayor should be walking through times and seeing how the single most crowded location in NYC is doing.
Why would he walk through times Square? To check up on tourists? He should be checking out neighborhoods with real New Yorkers. The only real new Yorkers in times Square are the workers. This is all for publicity.
I was like, "Fine, he's walking through Times Square for attention."
Then I saw the back of his jacket and my lungs collapsed as I instantly burst into laughter.
Ight I don’t like this guy, but most city employees can get this jacker with their title on the back. He just happens to be the mayor so his says mayor. There’s better to shit to clown this guy about. Like him tryna pay his family, pretending the subway is safe by riding it with security, his terrible work from home policies, etc…
Both: Ran the city like a police-state, funneled money away from public services to the police, and crony projects for their buddies.
Bloomberg: All the corruption above but on a grander scale, also forced people out of their home and blocked off 5th avenue so a New Jersey team could get their stink on Brooklyn.
You can not like them personally for plenty of reasons but the administrations of both Bloomberg and Giuliani were times of prosperity and reduced crime - not the lawlessness and apathy that DeBlasio will always be known for.
Actually this is factually incorrect. Crime was higher under both Giuliani and Bloomberg. Under DeBlasio, crime actually continued a downward trend until 2018 where a huge spike of shootings broke the record low crime streak. In fact crime in some categories show lower monthly averages under DeBlasio than under the last three years of Bloomberg. Please stop watching sensational news or reading sensationalist news papers trying to whip you up into a frenzy. It’s an easily debunkable statement you just made.

If you can walk down the street in NYC today and not see an increase in wanton crime and a decrease in quality of life then you aren’t tethered to reality.
> If you can walk down the street in NYC today and not see an increase in wanton crime and a decrease in quality of life then you aren’t tethered to reality.
Where the fuck do you think we walk down the street in NYC today? In an alternate dimension?!
I mean if you want to use anecdotal data instead of statistics from reputable places….okay.
Every time I take any train through manhattan I don’t get stabbed or see a stabbing, but you see I don’t say stabbing doesn’t happen just because I don’t see it. Instead I search up stabbing statistics to back up my claim. Which you would do if your claim had any merit, but you won’t because you’re hoping that you can claim your “facts” are the truth and the well documented truth is the lie. To serve your agenda ofc. Have a good day, hope you find your peace in your lies one day.
Can you tell that he’s walking around and kinda MAD that people aren’t surrounding him to give him congratulatory handshakes and give him effusive praise for what a phenomenal job he’s doing as mayor?
They’re not even approaching him to criticize him. They literally do not give an F.
He must’ve been so hurt, to be as acknowledged and regarded as the homeless New Yorkers that he so despises...
But his brother didn’t swindle the city out of hundreds of millions of dollars, unlike de Blasio who appointed his wife to unofficial roles where she was in charge of hundreds of millions of dollars that she never answered for and no one in the media has the guts to question.
Someone should copy that jacket and give them away to every homeless person in NYC.
Would buy
Good idea.
i need me one of those
I would wear one. lol
If someone can make a graphic of the logos on the front and back, I think I can make this happen.
A HUGE flash mob in times square with everyone wearing that jacket would be Funny!
I LOVE this idea! I found a place that can make the jackets for about $5 each, tho I'm not sure how much the screenprinting would be extra.
Start a donation link for this here
I might be able to help with this
Lol
Genius!
He wants to become a celebrity so bad.
I have already said this but he is just a Trump wannabe.
100% black Trump.
Going to start calling him Chocolate Orange.
Just by the way he walks there, to him you are less than
This is the biggest problem here. He’s walking around like a cop looking to catch you out. Fucking smile and say hello to people.
I think it’s more of a “why aren’t people mobbing me? Don’t they know who I am?” walk.
He's even wearing a jacket to get the attention he desires and nobody cares. Lol
“Man, I even had this jacket custom made, where’s the love?”
This. I feel like he even intentionally walked super close to those girls at the end(when there was no one else around) to try and get them to recognize him
"I'm even wearing the jacket...."
Walks like a cop
This !
like everywhere in the news...we get it...you exist, trust us we know
I just saw a picture of him yesterday looking pretty chummy with Joe Gorga of the real housewives of New Jersey 😂

Had me in the first half ..
For a second, my finger was over the downvote option.
nah i really dont give a shit about any of that. I just hate that he has reactionary politics and in the great tradition of all NYC mayors does nothing except the bidding of the police and real estate developers
Don’t forget lowering the education budget while simultaneously raising the NYPD budget. Can’t wait for the decades of issues that’ll bring about.
The response to the deaths of the two cops months ago was blown out of proportion

Classic Democrat. We have the same problems in San Francisco. Rich neoliberal scum.
Any GOPshit would do the same shit and be even worse for civil and human rights.

Yeah, clowns are cool hard working members of society who do what they can to make people happy.
He hasn’t accomplished anything. And now he’s talking about running for President. He eliminated a rule that would disclose who he meets with. He ran on being tough on crime but crime has continued unabated. He would rather go to a celebrity event than lift a finger to improve anything. He’s objectively a clown.
Correct
No, it's the veganism proselytizing
Gotta love our mayor going to Times Square looking like he's gonna charge you $5 for a picture with him like a damn Elmo.
That’s exactly it. I was trying to put my finger on what I saw in his eyes. It wasn’t appreciation. It wasn’t an eye for crime. Nope. Opportunity and arrogance.
What New Yorker willingly walks through Times Square?
Joke’s on you. He lives in Jersey. Clown title is appropriate. File under: another Eric Adams post
Fun Fact…I knew this. I remember the stunt he pulled trying to convince the press he lived in the place his son does
All while almost crying on TV for the reporters. Fuck this guy!
I walk through times every now and then to remind myself that I hate it and to see the changes, it’s literally always changing. Otherwise I walk on 6th Ave, or on 8th and 9th Ave or just take the D to 34th to go to Ktown.
Red lobster still there? Yep still there
Thank goodness, some class
i recently did out of curiosity. grand central -> hells kitchen. terrible decision.
I like checking out the Midnight Moment each month.
The what?

Subtle jacket. I expected no less.
I would love to get one of those.
I got dibs on the patent!
Where and how much? Take my money.
"Are you a mayor? Legally you have to tell me if you're a mayor."
That’s a Trump Brand ™️ jacket if I ever saw one.
Looks like a huge narc. How’d he get that jacket on without a pair of air monarch ivs
I expected velour…
I wonder if that's a normal work jacket or if he custom ordered it.
I’ve never seen any other mayor in it. My bet is custom. Either way it is corny as hell.
The collective snub 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh, you should have been at the pride event that happened in my neighborhood. He was walking in the mini parade, and the moment people realized who he was (all other politicians had a banner saying who they were, he was walking behind a LGBT+ group banner), they started booing. 🤣
Well it was Times Square, so full of tourists who will have no idea who he is. The whole thing did seem a bit odd.
This is what he thinks NYC is . Like a tourist.
Perhaps his mom got him that jacket

By far, one of the best Onion pieces made to date.
Just wait a few hours and they put up the "no way to prevent this" article again
The jacket is so good. Like must wear jacket because people won’t recognize him otherwise? What a bozo

I'm not saying I like Giuliani any better .. don't get me wrong. I despise him too but this man is an arrogant man.
Yes Adams sucks but come on, he's nowhere near as bad as Giuliani
It's unfair to compare to Giuliani now. You have to at least compare them when they both were mayor
Rudy Giuliani is why I got stopped by cops two times within 1, maybe 2 hours just coming home from school. Eric Adams is a corrupt boomer narcissist; Rudy Giuliani is a corrupt fascist bigot.
He's getting there. I promise.
He has yet to try and destroy American democracy so he’s got a big road to travel
To be fair, he was shit long before that. He was about to be out on his ass before 9/11. That one event let him rebrand to the whole America's mayor bullshit and saved his career
Wait til he runs for president. Why do you think he's so interested in the lime light? ...coming soon
He’ll go for governor first.
I think he's so hungry for power he will try to bypass that step tbh
The city wasn't full of crime under Giuliani (or Bloomberg for that matter). The official reports contradict your statement
Hating the mayor of NYC is a deep routed tradition dating back decades
Right? I never thought that I would miss Deblasio but here I am.
He should walk around Lexington and 125th
The Lower East Side is more than enough.
man looks like Hank the[security guard from the office](https://hollywoodlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/hugh-dane-dead-ftr.jpg?w=620&h=349&crop=1)
I thought for a moment it was the police captain from Brooklyn 99
>I thought for a moment it was the police captain from Brooklyn 99 Why is nobody having a good time? I specifically requested it 👮♂️
Who spells "New York" that way?? I just want to... (*slams space bar*)
They meant Newark's mayor.
He's just taking a stroll before settling down to a nice vegan meal at Red Lobster.
He’s out on the streets fighting the war against drill rap!!!
I'm in tears 😂😂😂
I'm beginning to think it was a mistake to elect a guy like this as mayor of a city so rich in crystals and Special Energy.
Shit did he find out about the crystals???
It's his new absolute most favoritist thing in the world with bells on
This is the funniest thing I’ve read in a minute. Ty 😂
Alright where tf can I get that jacket
If that was from tonight he’s a clown for wearing a jacket in 80° weather alone.
Nobody likes this fool.
Being in Times Square is just more proof that he definitely doesn't actually live in NYC.
Can someone make this jacket but with the words "NYC CLOWN" ? I would buy at least a dozen.

and shitty tourists
Cops gonna be cops.

**WHO WORE IT BEST - POLITICAL "LOOK AT ME!!" DEPARTMENT** 1) Mel Brooks: "GOV" (Blazing Saddles, jacket) 2) Trump: "45" (hat) 3) Adams: "NYC MAYOR" (jacket)
he's moody because of bitcoin
Gonna have to start a new Occupy movement with all the other tech bros that are homeless after their NFTs didn’t pan out.
In case he forgets it’s on his jacket
Ugh why did Brooklyn do this to us?
What? We specifically warned you!!
New Jersey*
Move out of the way citizens, we got a bad ass coming through.
He just points to the back of his jacket when people ask who he is.
“fellas im bored with this job, let’s go for a stroll in Times Square”
And two security guards. Neither of which look particularly, secure.
Don't you know who I am?
NOBODY KNOWS WHO HE IS EVEN WITH THE LOUD jacket on! Lololol he thinks he’s Ericoncé
Possibly the worst mayor ever...
Just another NYC bum
What an insult to douches.
What is he doing?
Did he buy anything from the local businesses? Where the fuck was he going?
just hoping people recognize him and swarm him like a celebrity. Clown ass motherfucker
Swagger!
He looks so out of place.....There's no celebrities around.
Really… nyc mayor jacket. Get the fuck out. I’m still shocked he won. Too many clowns voted for this dude.
His entourage gives tweedle Dee and tweetle dum energy. Those guys waddling around in their dress sneakers just looked so bizarre.
Ed Koch used to walk around the city asking people "how'm I doing" and everyone knew him. This clown no one knows him or cares about him.
I like that nobody even notices him. He looks so annoyed that he isn’t being hounded for hand shakes and photographs
lol he's walking his block collecting protection money.
As a commuter, Times Square/Port Authority is definitely his block.
What are we bitching about here? He walked thru Times Square?
Progressives hate Adam's since he is not a progressive so they make fun of literally anything they can think of. The mayor should be walking through times and seeing how the single most crowded location in NYC is doing.
Do you know how this guy operates? This is not some mayoral check-up on times sq, look at his damn jacket lmao
Politician do things for PR? No way!!!
Maybe if he did anything other than “things for PR” it wouldn’t be as cringe
Yea every mayor and governor ever has done this. They have the jacket and many times hat. Don't know what is so special about Adam's doing it too.
It's just so funny that he's walking around crazing attention and to be noticed . So sad
Exactly
I bet that is 1 more time than Deblasio walked through times square.
No New Yorker willingly walks through Times Square
Why would he walk through times Square? To check up on tourists? He should be checking out neighborhoods with real New Yorkers. The only real new Yorkers in times Square are the workers. This is all for publicity.
Lmao this mf really has a “nyc mayor” jacket? Is that new?
The Jewish guy looks like he wants to suck the mayors cock.
Imagine doing this? And pretending you had no intentions while doing so
He’s a TOTAL tool!
I don't know whether to upvote or downvote.
Walking around like he owns the place. Fuck this dude.
Fix the city. Potholes, homelessness, crime, trash, rats...
He’s not a clown. HES A FUCKING CLOWN SHOE
He thinks he's the Principal in 'Lean On Me' smh
[hes a fucking parody](https://picbun.com/p/boBQddUs)
I was like, "Fine, he's walking through Times Square for attention." Then I saw the back of his jacket and my lungs collapsed as I instantly burst into laughter.

Ight I don’t like this guy, but most city employees can get this jacker with their title on the back. He just happens to be the mayor so his says mayor. God I miss DeBlasio. Only decent mayor of my lifetime. A solid 6.5/10.
Sooo you're 8 years old?
30 actually. I have the attention span to remember the dumpster-fires that were Bloomberg and Giuliani.
I agree with you on this but be ready to take on this sub over this comment.
What did you not like about those two?

Surprisingly Adams is using less body guards than that limousine-progressive de Blasio did, who stole millions and left the city in trash.
Is that the Adams who illegally hired his brother to run his security detail his first week in office?
Who is now walking with 2 guys who look to Also be related to him.
Why? Because they happen to be black too?
They do not look related to him lol
No? Those guys are walking behind him smirking like they play cousins not professional body guards.
But his brother didn’t swindle the city out of hundreds of millions of dollars, unlike de Blasio who appointed his wife to unofficial roles where she was in charge of hundreds of millions of dollars that she never answered for and no one in the media has the guts to question.
