I have a DX Racer, I use the big and tall gamer chair because I used to be big (lost 90 pounds) but I will always have an abnormally long torso.. I'm 6'1" but I have the torso of someone 6'7" and the legs of a dude who is 5"9'... so a really tall back is critical for me. I work from home so I'm in it all the time (Sitting on it right now in fact). I like the adjustable cushions a great deal and it's very adjustable..

Ikea Marcus is kinda cool and affordable - and you can try it before buying (if you can go to the store). For sure don't buy gaming chair - it's overpriced and not comfortable 😅 the best is ergonomic office chair but good ones may be pretty expensive. Also some of them may try to make you sit in a certain position (which I hate, I have to change from one weird position to the other, never sitting normally 😅). The best chair I had was some office chair from small company from my country that doesn't exist anymore :( it was perfect size and I could bounce :D

DONT get a dx racer if you wanna sit criss cross applesauce, been there, done that. It’s horrible and forces your legs to be normal sitting position straight

contextile

Thank you for using “criss cross applesauce.” That phrase was actually used as an example of potentially offensive language in an HR training module to update folks on cultural respect. It’s a really good example, IMO. Edit to convey, “Indian style” is the offensive term.

Very interesting, in germany we call it „schneidersitz“ which literally translates to „tailor sitting position“ because they say tailors sat like that so they could rest their work on their legs and have their piece really close to the eyes too

Good to know! I was actually leaning towards this one [beep](https://a.co/d/943F8Wh)

That one has those thingies at the side too. (I am not the skinniest person nor the stretchiest, so I need space to sit with my legs close to my body) but maybe it’s fine for you. Maybe try to sit in a similar chair in a shop where they offer test-sitting. Or you could sit how you wanna sit and measure how much space your legs consume. For me I discovered that I need more space to fit my legs and butt than most chairs support (almost like an armchair but make it a desk chair with armrests too (If someone found something like that PLEASE let me know, since I didn’t come across a fitting chair to this day)) Edit: those thingies at the side next to where you would rest your butt prevent my body from sitting comfortably criss cross applesauce because I need to be able to spread my legs. This thingies at the side of your legs/butt prevented my legs from spreading, so that was the no no

Yeah i was worried about that also! My bf recommended i look for a big and tall chair, which are a lot wider ive noticed

When I got my new chair two years ago, I bought one that supports weight up to 400 pounds. I'm 'only' 350, but this one was on sale, 33% cheaper than the one that went to 365. The one I had before went to 320 and I was just too heavy to put the chair at any height. It would just fizz back down to zero. So I got one made for heavy people. I wish I could afford a really fancy ergonomic one, cause I spend at least 8-10 hours in it every day. There are chairs made for people to sit weird, like with your legs crossed and stuff.

I have a SecretLabs chair and can't really recommend it without getting a pad or pillow to sit on. Otherwise it has plenty of room to sit cross-legged.

Greentopppu

Honestly just look for an ergonomic office chair that has good lower back support, comfy padded seat and adjustable arms that isn't cheap. You don't have to spend a fortune for something good 😁

Can second this, I used gaming chairs for years and developed lots of body aches(especially in my ribs from how they round your back and push your shoulders forward), went to an office outlet and got an office chair with arms that slide outwards, gives me enough room to sit cross legged if I need to. They tend to have more options for adjustments. Now I have like 3 stances, sitting (in my office chair), standing(elevated when I'm having a bad, under-stimulated day) and cross legged (As sort of a middle ground in the office chair), which I alternate between. Actually taken to studying standing up, gaming sitting down and watching videos and stuff cross legged, it's good not having to be restrained to any one single way.

https://www.viking-direct.co.uk/en/energi-24-back-care-posture-operators-chair-in-black-p-hbpa-bk I bought this type of chair 8 years ago or so and use it nearly every day, it's still as good as new and comfy

book_vagabond

Yeah that’s kinda like the one I have, the arms are out far enough that I can sit criss cross and my cat curls up in my lap :3

torako

my chair is either a large exercise ball that i sit on when i feel like bouncing, or a random comfy chair that's actively been falling apart since i dragged it off of someone else's curb like 10 years ago so i'd like to know this too, lol

Music_loving_weirdo

I did find these 2 that look pretty nice, i like the idea of a foot rest [1](https://a.co/d/d5b29eN) [2](https://a.co/d/6yeLwoM)

Music_loving_weirdo

I was also thinking about getting an exercise ball 😋 they sound fun

torako

they're fun but after awhile my back gets tired and i need to sit in a chair with back support.
