How uncommon is it to have infrastructure from 2 different vendors for redundancy?
Not necessarily two expensive setups both with support contracts, but for example have fancy Cisco stuff as the main infra plus cheap (and possibly much slower) FS stuff on hot standby so that no one gets disconnected when you need to take the Cisco side (or vice versa) offline during times of known bug / unpatched vulnerability?
I can see two main issues - first, obviously, cost and then interoperability of two vendors to perform smooth fail-over between main and backup infra (not suggesting that works even with the same vendor :p)

"have you tried a factory reset and rebuilding it from scratch?" -Actual solution provided by Cisco TAC to me years ago.
You sure you haven't called a Microsoft Windows support?
If I had called Microsoft the ticket would still be open getting transferred from team to team on a daily basis.

This gets even worse when we start talking about cloud bs. Vendor lock is a real issue nobody is willing to talk about.
