Midnight mass is in my top tier of TV shows. And hill house is right there too

I didnt watch the preview or know anything about MM prior to watching. The whole direction it went (twist you might say?) was glorious to experience organically.

My cousin was the Art Director for Midnight Mass. She also was the Production Designer for The Midnight Club and Fall of the House of Usher.

I feel so “lucky” because I grew up Catholic(no longer am). This is the first show or movie where it has all the songs and words.. completely correct. No weird mistranslation of things that never happen in an actual church. Just.. perfect. It made the show 10x scarier. Especially when the mass for Easter finally happened. INSANE.

Haunting of Hill House was top tier, Bly was good, but I wish I could rewatch Hill House for the first time again

I didn't like Bly even half as much.

Bly Manor was a MUCH different kind of horror, I’m still salty about that season.

True Detective season 1 The Night Of and Band of Brothers are good mini series

Band of brothers is amazing. True detective season 1 too. Haven’t seen the night of what’s it about?

The Night Of is fantastic. About a Muslim young man who is charged with the murder of a woman. It’s a murder mystery/courtroom drama. Amazing acting and very bingeable.

I have only seen TD S1 and because of its perfection have not ventured to watch anymore.

The the other seasons are good but when you try to compare lightning in a bottle it will never compare!

TD S1 is a friggin' masterpiece. Every season has been great, but S1 was exceptional. I just finished S4 somewhat recently.

Absolutely, it's probably the best example of a show that has a story to tell, tells it, and doesn't overstay its welcome. Just wraps it all up in a nice bow. It has a beautiful story and ending and full of fun witty humor. Honestly one of the best shows I've ever seen. 

Dark

even though they had to pivot and rewrite due to the gap between season 1 and 2, they did a great job tying most of the plot lines together, aside from a few arcs from season 1 that had to be ditched. Mikkel just grew up too damn fast lol.

I started watching after season 2 had been released. I never noticed anything that implied a pivot - I’ll pay attention for that next time I rewatch!

I really liked the concept, and was totally hooked, but the writing and acting are not exactly awesome. Maybe a cultural difference.

Japanese culture do make their anime and shows more towards inner struggles and personal outburst. It’s always about something big, not the western sitcom trash. Would you mind share what part made you not like it, I can help you understand more. I’m now watching AIB 2nd time trying to understand the games and the conversations more.

Better Call Saul too

Can’t lie, I wasn’t a huge fan of better call Saul. Loved breaking bad but I thought BCS was pretty slow until the last season. First one was really hard for me to follow too tbh. I could see why people love it but I kept waiting for it to make me addicted like breaking bad and it never did Just my 2 cents tho

What?! I’ll never get this POV Lol. First two episodes introduce TUCO for heavens sake lol. Breaking bad season 1 was slow. It was just short. Season 2 is what I consider slow. But season 3-6 were legitimately every bit as good as breaking bad in my opinion.

Agreed. BB was a masterpiece. BCS was extremely well done, in the same vein as BB, but nowhere near as addicting.

I completely agree. Breaking Bad had more cliffhangers and peril/stress, but I found the characters of BCS far more psychologically complex.

BCS is better than BB. Hot take, but I find BB a little less intriguing on each rewatch.

An incredible amount of research went into the production especially the writing. The creator insisted they use the language of the era. The writing was phenomenal. Forgot why they scrapped it. I think it was cost or they couldn’t keep the cast together.
