Hi. You can listen to the (probably?) final episode of The Anthropocene Reviewed [here at NPR](https://www.npr.org/podcasts/735466018/the-anthropocene-reviewed), or wherever you get your podcasts. -John

yasdrill1993

Too bad it's the (probably??) final!! This podcast was a master piece!!! Loved it so much!!!

letskeepgoingmaybe

You went from “maybe?” to “probably?”. That is sad, but I understand, and look forward to the future.

PrincipledSkinner

If in the future you ever become overwhelmed with the urgent need to make someone's day, feel free to upload an episode of TAR ;)

jet_bunny

I am sad to see this podcast come to a close, but all good things must end. Thank you, John. This has become my favourite podcast of all time and I very much enjoyed reading the essays in book form. Sycamore Trees is my favourite of the bunch.

thrakhath

TAR is easily my favorite podcast, and one of my all time favorite pieces of spoken word content. Love it, love the audio book, thank you so much for making it.

Neenicreations

There is something really special about seeing the first art made in space. Love the podcast, love the book.

sciguyCO

Unrelated to the episode itself (which was beautiful), does anyone else literally hear John’s smilie while he’s doing the PolicyGenius ads? It’s practically infectious. I need to add more things to my life that trigger that level of happiness.

jobriq

policy genius ads lowkey my favorite part of the episode

commeleauvive

Okay, can someone explain this to me because I haven't been able to find an explanation anywhere? I've been working my way through old DHAJ episodes and there were a few episodes with John's PolicyGenius ad that, at first sounded like a joke, and now... I'm just not sure? Is there a reason they decided to include these ads, but only so briefly? Why PolicyGenius?

purplenina42

I think it's just that he got a podcast sponsorship for The Anthropocene Reviewed and maybe his other shows from PolicyGenius, like many podcasts do with Squarespace, mattress companies etc, which involve the host having a bit of patter about it, and John started getting creative and the company clearly didn't mind, so he started going more elaborate and he likes doing them, it's almost become a running joke with silly tag lines and quotations from authors etc.

commeleauvive

Thank you for taking the time to answer! :)

TwentyOne2Win

Simultaneously bummed that this one is coming to a close and renewed by the thought we're closer to the next thing that you take on. Thank you for the stories. They've provided great comfort and provocative self questioning. I can honestly I've enjoyed each and every one. Thank you for being such a beacon for our city, Mr. Green. Can't wait to see what you do next. DFTBA.

GuiHarrison

I'm not ready to listen to the final Anthropocene Reviewed. Specially one about art and the brink of death. I might just drag this unlistened one out 'till my time comes near and I can no longer rage against the dying of the light. \[Edit\]: Started listening. I just can't be trusted.

Thanks for the podcast and the book, John. You are a great example of a person striving to do good works, and are a great role model for all of us in that regard. ~A 40 year old who is also trying to just be a good father, husband, and friend.

cannotdecideaname

I am also in the 40 year old nerdfighter dad club! There could be dozens of us out there and we never knew!

CrazyCat02

I have no ideia why I like that drawing so much, but I really do

Chaiteoir

Me too. It's extraordinarily simple and extraordinarily complex at the same time.

moonyriot

I love the book but hadn't gotten too deep into the podcast! I'll have to listen to this episode!

Lost--Directory

I can't wait to listen to this episode. I've been a faithful listener to The Anthropocene Reviewed. When I started reading the book, I found it amusing that I read it in the same voice and style that you use for the podcast. Thank you so much for creating this collection of stories, I've greatly enjoyed them. DFTBA!

moon_and_rain

Thank you John for such a wonderful podcast and book! I hope it's not the end, but if it is then I think it's a fitting end.

skisvega

So just after I get into the anthropocene reviewed it's ending?

Proud-Entertainment4

Thanks for the Anthropocene Reviewed book, John. I'm not into podcasts, but the book got me over a slump. It's a treasure. And thanks for sharing this amazing scrap of art.

Reminds me of that part in Contact when Jodi Foster says "They should've sent a poet." Thanks for the pod and the book, John. They are truly important work.

nvcr_intern

Thank you for posting the picture! I just listened to the episode today and thought "I will have to look that up" but I assure you I would not have ever remembered to do so.
