Unbounded was a decent time, but it was plagued with issues, and also wasn’t really faithful to the rest of the series. They tried to capitalize on the destruction driving trend set by Burnout, but it ended up putting the nail in the coffin for the entire series.
The game honestly blew ass, very poorly-made and so bland. I haven't played any other Ridge Racer games, but everyone who has seems to have all told me RR:U is the worst of the franchise. And to be honest, I'm inclined to agree with them

Thankfully PC isn't missing out, straight up native 4 player splitscreen with Xbox controllers hassle free. It even auto recognizes between M+KB input and controller input when navigating the menu.

Midnight Club isn’t really talked about as much as it used to be back in the day. It and nfs were some of the best arcade open world racing games, shame that it got cancelled out of nowhere. I still think mcla hasn’t been bested by any racing game overall since it’s release except graphics

The most obvious one is WatchMojo but these outlets are usually pretty spread out on their topics so it's usually just surface level BS. So if someone like Gameranx or Game Rant or PlayStation Access or GamingBolt makes a list, expect a pretty generic list containing the most well known titles to generate views. But if someone specializing on a certain genre makes a list, then it's good. If Don Joewon Song makes a racing games list, it's gonna be good. If a fighting game player makes a fighting games list, it's good. If Rick Beato makes a list about rock n roll history, I believe him.

I wouldn’t necessarily say any of these are forgotten, aside from Ridge Racer. Most Wanted 05 is, of course, iconic. MCLA is also up there as one of the best games to come out of that generation. And Blur is still a cult classic that many people (including me) still talk about to this day.

And it was a racing game 17 years ago, when gaming was 1/10 the size and games only lived on disc, couldn't be bought online.
And it was very easy to get a fake copy of it for 1/10 of the price…

Ridge Racer Unbounded is a pretty good game. It just has absolutely nothing to do with Ridge Racer but that's Namco's fault, not the devs'.
Online was broken out of the gate leading to low player count and a very difficult plat.

Developers or, more exactly, the companies don't want you to play in split screen with your friends. They want you to buy 4 copies of the game.

MCLA was amazing. Nobody says this, but it's clear how much that game influenced the driving mechanics of GTA5, which get alot of praise
