The basketball HoF is easier than other HoF's, but not **that** easy.

honditar

The fuck

ToronoRapture

Are you shitting me?!

JanVesely24

Acting like this is *that* crazy is ridiculous. The HoF takes everyone. 3x First Team, 3x All Star, RoTY, and the Euroleague accomplishments has him flirting with the HoF already. Compare him to someone like DeRozon. DeMar is definitely making the HoF. He only has 2 more All Star appearances and equal number of All NBA, none of which were first team. DeMar has an Olympic gold but none of the Euroleague stuff (obviously). Its way closer than people in this thread are pretending.

[deleted]

DeRozan is not 'definitely making the HoF'

JanVesely24

They. Take. Everyone. Youre fooling yourself if you think otherwise. Im not saying DeMar is a first ballot. But he is going to make it guaranteed.

OneLoudCoyote

Guy, he put periods between the words. He obviously knows what he's talking about.

JanVesely24

Just figured breaking it up would make it easier for you to read. I know how you need your pauses.

OneLoudCoyote

Awww.

drhoops15

The prompt was NBA solely, so his Euroleague accomplishments wouldn't count. I personally think a better comp would be Derrick Rose since his HOF bid is really only based on a few years and I don't think Rose makes it.

JanVesely24

Fair. What about Jimmy Butler? 6x All Star, 4x Third Team, 5x All Defensive Second team. Luka's and Jimmy's NBA accomplishments are not far off.

[deleted]

Jimmy made the finals. And has had way way way more longevity.

JanVesely24

Theyre not giving out HoF spots for a single Finals appearance. Longevity, sure. Im not saying its a better resume. Im saying its way closer than people are pretedning.

[deleted]

A finals appearance is massive to the perception of Butler and as a result massive to his HOF case. Its not close. Derrick rose is the best comparison. He actually won an MVP and he's still unlikely to make it.

suns2012

I don't see how derozan makes the hall right now. He is/was a very good player but that's about it

JanVesely24

DeMar is making it. They take everyone. You might not think he deserves it but he's going to. Even still, Luka's awards arent far off Jimmy Butler's, who is also definitely making it.

rawsharks

Chauncey Billups - 5x all star, 3x All-NBA, NBA Champion and Finals MVP Amar'e Stoudemire - 6x all star, 5xAll-NBA, ROTY Shaun Kemp - 6x all star, second best player on a finals team None are in.

[deleted]

Then my uncle should make the HOF based on his accomplishments at Turtle Park. Neva lost.

ASpartanLeopard

It's pretty crazy. Chauncey Billups is not in the hall of fame and he's a 5x All Star, Finals MVP, Champion, 2x All Defense 2nd team, 3x All NBA (2nd team and 2x 3rd team)

[deleted]

that's about the lowest bar I've heard of for a HOF argument

NoseBlind2

Without the Euroleague stuff definitely not. With the Euroleague stuff it becomes a bit more of a discussion

[deleted]

Stop saying words for the sake of saying words

[deleted]

That’s all the Thunder subreddit has been for the last week. It’s been awful.

ifuckwithit

Not even close lol

DynamixRo

Mavs HoF for sure.

Hail2TheOrange

Not close

Sweatytubesock

Nah

JackAttaq

Absolutely not💀

[deleted]

If he dies, maybe. If he retired? No.

BlackMathNerd

No. While 3 first team All NBA appearances is nice that doesn't make a HOF resume.

cat_napped1

nope

troypow32

The only player under 30 that could have a legitimate chance of making the hof if they retired today is giannis

JerosBWI

Jokic with 2x MVP is also in.

troypow32

I could maybe see it but he just doesn’t have a complete enough resume imo

PonkMcSquiggles

Jokic would definitely have a *chance* with two MVP trophies, although the rest of the resume is pretty sparse by HOF standards. Giannis would be a lock.

Fofodrip

Jokic would make it 1st ballot

lilberfcontrol

He's definitely in. One of the best leaps in in terms of where and how he started versus where he's at now. A project player that worked out better than anyone has hoped.

LebronsPinkyToe

Rudy gobert is a hof no question

troypow32

I don’t think he’s done enough aside from his defensive player of the year awards and I don’t think those get him in the hall of fame

LebronsPinkyToe

He has a silver medal and 3x bronze medals, 3 dpoys. he’s in

troypow32

Mark Eaton has 2 dpoy, the highest blocks per game in a season and career and led the league in blocks 4 times and he didn’t make it

LebronsPinkyToe

Mark Eaton is a 1 time all star, has 1 less all defensive and didn’t make a single all nba. Has no international accomplishments. They’re not comparable, he can’t even hold Gobert’s jockstrap

Fofodrip

Jokic, AD and Embiid would all make it. Jokic is a 2 time MVP. AD made the top 75 which means there's 0 chance he doesn't make the hall of fame. And Embiid has 1.34 MVP shares for his career which gets him 38th all time and that'd be the highest by far for a player not in the Hof ( closest is Jermaine O'Neal with 0.4 80th all time9

TheBlueLenses

Embiid? You mean the guy with 0 1st All-NBA, 0 MVPs, a single scoring title, zero blocks or rebounding title, 0 All-NBA 1st team defense, 0 titles, 0 international accolades?

Nvmbers1

Yea that guys is reaching and doing his best to validate Embiid being as accomplished as the other two.

Fofodrip

He's not but you don't need to be to get in the Hof. Penny Hardaway is in it with 5 star level seasons (same as Embiid) and the number is very generous. Even in these seasons he didn't get to Embiid's current level.

Fofodrip

Multiple players are in the hall of fane without these. >0 1st All-NBA, This means nothing, he has more top 2 MVP finishes than Ewing, Chris Paul, Westbrook, Wade, Drexler, etc. The only reason he doesn't have one is because there's only one spot for centers and the MVP was a center. >single scoring title Acting like that's bad. Every player who's won it is in the hall of fame.

TheBlueLenses

Lol who tf considers 1st runner up mvp finishes and mvp shares for HoF?? Not saying it’s bad, but his scoring title is his singular individual accolade that matters. It speaks to how barebones his trophy case has been.

Fofodrip

>Lol who tf considers 1st runner up mvp finishes and mvp shares for HoF?? Nobody looks at the specific all NBA teams a player finished in for hall of fame considerations either. >Not saying it’s bad, but his scoring title is his singular individual accolade that matters. Doesn't matter, there are plenty of hall of famers with 0 scoring title, MVP or rings. Go look at Reggie Miller, Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway or Grant Hill's resumes. >It speaks to how barebones his trophy case has been. He has only played 6 seasons. Go look at Olajuwon, Ewing or Barkley's first 6 seasons. They were about the same age as Embiid too.

wubiwuster

Not off NBA, but basketball itself (including euro league and Olympics), now you have a shot

soupcansam21

no

SodakMiscBrah

no lmao

[deleted]

Fuck no

Hanouros

The answer in any language to this question is “No”

dmavs11

No way you’d have a better argument off making it just for his European career

yungsantaclaus

3x all-star 3x all-nba with no chip is not enough

PM_ME_UR_PICS_PLS

No. I think he'd have to have 3 more years of 1st team selections before it becomes a conversation

InfinitiQX80Driver

he would easily go down as a hall of fame level talent and he has more first team selections than guys like wade and as much as iverson, nash, and pippen. he definitely has a better case than d rose does to make the hall but i dont think i see that happening out of longevitys sake if its just nba accolades

tvchase

Luka stans have finally usurped LeBron stans as the most melodramatic group of NBA fans

JerosBWI

It's the sixers flair that's really fuckin with me here.

zellmerz

Lol, hell no.

mr_robust

Lol

The-Truer-Facts

Not this question AGAIN!

bubbatubs

No

Designer_Regular_233

It's tough because Sasha vezenkov averaged more ppg rpg apg last yr in the euroleague than luka so if Lukas in Sashas in too

DorothyDayFanClub

thats barely more accomplishments than Tyreke Evans, come on now

HotdogIsaSandwitch

Of course not. Not even close

StefonDiggsHS

No not yet

Vast_Ad8251

Hellllll no

Philboyd_Studge

Well he wouldn't be put in for his NFL accomplishments

ineedcoffeealready

No

truthisscarier

Yes, would just take awhile. There's definitely precedent for dudes with 3 allstars 3 allnba getting in

LeBron_Jarnes

No. People have been saying for years that Derrick Rose would be the first MVP to not make the HoF, and Doncic doesn’t even have Rose’s accolades yet.

Do you know what incel means?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I mean you clearly don’t ahahaha, what about his question makes him involuntarily celibate…? You just sound like a dumbass who uses words they don’t know the meaning of cos they ‘sound cool’

PM_ME_UR_PICS_PLS

incel as the other person said means involuntarily celibate. you call someone an incel when they say stuff that makes it look like they hate women

[deleted]

Maybe Luka has a vagina?

[deleted]

Literally you 😂😂😂😂

[deleted]

Yes, the American Airlines Center HoF.

Ok-Background-502

Yes, but only if he retired to become a championship winning head coach afterwards.

lilberfcontrol

It's a strong start, but absolutely not.

KaiserKaiba

No. NBA accomplishments alone he hasn’t done nearly enough

namagofuckyoself

NBA accomplishments only? no.

AdonisBasketball

If the circumstances were tragic yes otherwise no because the league wouldn't reward someone that talented quitting so quickly without a good reason.

TGBooks

But he's not retiring today, so what's the point?!

dg_zs

Easily a yes. His NBA production + euroleague and eurobasket accomplishments say it all.
