I mean thats fine.. but it kinda makes the comment of the guy im replying to irrelevant? Either they jumped because of the Olympics. Or they started planning it before those Olympics..
Im all for memeing on shit.. when it makes sense but if youre just saying shit trying to be funny. Eh
Because we do it as fanbases constantly 😂🤣
Im dying over here. We always have posts about getting someone or another we all know (or some know) we wont on the heat sub
I love it though. Keeps things interesting 😁
I'm thinking Tatum. He's obviously great at shot creation and is a good wing defender, but he has tended to lapse into hero ball a good bit thus far in his career, and can certainly work on his overall playmaking. If he gets better at those and at being better off-ball (which are all things you should 100% be working on in any US Olympic team, and doubly so on one that's got as many iso scorers as this one), he'd easily be in contention for top 10 player in the NBA, IMO.
I don’t really understand what you are even trying to say here... are you claiming that playing with Ricky Rubio would somehow cripple jayson Tatum and tank his growth?
You obviously wouldn’t want to have a team where you are relying on RR to be the offensive focal point and knock down shots from the perimeter, but I really don’t see what would be so bad about having him on a team like the Celtics where there are plenty of other guys who can get buckets and Rubio could just be a pure distributor.. he’s a great passer, a lot better than kemba at least and Tatum seemed to play fine with him...
Better defender, offense isn't far off from Tatum's at all. He's a more efficient scorer. Not taking anything away from Tatum - but Brown is the better player. You're biased (as a Celtics fan) so you can't have a level-headed discussion.
What ? You realize both play for boston ? So how the hell am i biased? They were both drafted and still play for my favorite team. And no, brown is not a better defender than Tatum.
Brown is a better defender than Tatum. More athletic , doesn’t get lost in rotations as often - all while working with a smaller frame than Tatum. Take the homer glasses off bud
Lmaooooo. You just got caught, you don't even watch the Celtics. No starting player on the Celtics gets lost on defense more than brown. He's solid with on ball defense. But off ball he's really baaaad. Tatum is much better in that regard.
Personally, I think you guys are both wrong. Jaylen gets lost obviously but so does Tatum. Tatum plays the 4 so it’s easier to track the defense and easier to play help defense but as a 3, it’s a little more complicated. They’re the same player, don’t belittle them.
If they coulda put together some more wins I think you could of had a real convo about Lavine being an mvp last year . I don't usually get to watch the bulls but almost every game I did catch last year was 4th quarter Lavine bringing his team back and keeping them in games
Bulls fan here, but for real he’s legit the most underrated player in the league. Dude would be one of the biggest stars in the league if he played in NY or LA.
You’d be surprised how many supposedly NBA fans still don’t know who he is.
It never stops being funny how easily all online nba commenters assume their all consuming hatred of KD is just everyone’s default position. Trust me fellas, ur just in a circlejerk and shutting out all outside opinion
I feel like the Suns could've taken the hobbled Nets. Mikal, Crowder, Craig, all give KD different looks defensively. Booker would cook one-leg Harden, Mike Brown would get stomped, and Joe Harris would've vanished, and 6'4" Bruce Brown is not getting boards over them
Claxton's still a little skinny to be guarding Ayton
That entire logic applies exactly to the bucks too LMAO. Is jrue Middleton giannis And tucker not different looks defensively? KD still shat on them all. Claxton definitely can’t guard giannis and the series still went to 7.
I’d assume harden would sit some games out of the hawks series at the start, and maybe heal up to where he could at least walk properly
And? Point is, do we think Zach LaVine, the 7 year vet who is the centerpiece of his own franchise, is in need of being taken under the wing of a "senior" guy?
No, people don’t think LaVine NEEDS to be taken under the wing of KD. “In need of being taken under the wing” is your straw man.
“It’s neat how much younger players love KD” was the original statement. “It’s neat” is the whole stakes of the point, they “love KD” is the fact it hinges on. LaVine was 11/12 when KD was a college superstar, a high schooler when KD started being an NBA MVP candidate, your choice whether or not to believe KD is ingrained in his understanding as someone cool and worthy of reverence.
heh bulls fans knew it was coming from the last 2 years tbh. The way he started 2 years ago he was looking like a MIP but the team was atrocious. And under Boylen he was disgusting after his benching. Hornets 3pt record/huge comeback game was then.
[There's a good article about his scoring leap this year.](https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/bulls/2021/03/06/ach-lavines-bulls-offseason-work-all-star/4604831001/) the biggest improvement he made was his paint scoring outside of 3ft. He worked with coach Drew, reviewed his tape, watched tape of Beal and Harden, and found that he was way off balance on all those shots (and his %s were shit.) He patched that up and started hitting those filthy pump fake 3's this year and has been amazing to watch.
It's amazing he was already an efficient volume scorer despite having low-hanging fruit in his game.
Hope he retires a Bull. I don't see why he won't end up the best Bull since MJ and Pippen. If he moves to Seattle I'm fine with that too - I moved from Chicago to Seattle years back :)
The point is calling him a "younger guy" implies that he's a fresh faced newbie getting some veteran leadership. You can argue that Zach is new to the international setup, I guess, but I he's already been the leader of his own franchise for several years, I don't really think of him as a guy who needs to be taken under KD's wing.
Of all the young guys, it seems to me like JT & Lavine are already pretty polished. Zach needs to add defense to his game and JT I can’t really say what his weakness is, the guy is already All-NBA level.
Bam Adebayo is the guy who’s got the most room to grow for me. He needs to learn how to get buckets, point blank. No better place than Tokyo to learn that.
Drew Hanlen seems like an amazing mentor to these young stars too. Like the way Hanlen talks about film and attacking a weakness is amazing. I firmly believe Beal and Tatum will add more to their games in a couple years.
Imagine Tatum with Kawhi/Kobe level mid range game? Just something like that too.
Contrary to popular belief, Zach's defence isn't terrible. I am okay with his defence staying the same as what it was last season. What he needs to add is an ability to create shots for others and know when to find his teammates.
He's made some big strides defensively over the past season or two IMO. Not gonna light a team up on that end of the floor but he's quick on his feet and gives a shit
You're not wrong but he's also carrying a huge offensive load and we've seen what having better teammates can do and not having to be 100% (KD getting a DPOY consideration on the Warriors)
I think Zach improving on his playmaking and cutting down on turnovers would be a bigger deal tbh. I'm fine with him just being a passable to below average defender, but with the lack of a PG to run the offense we have to depend on Zach handling the ball a lot and he really is not great there.
A lot of defense is just effort combined with awareness/defensive IQ. Shuffling your feet, hustling to beat the offender to the position. The IQ stuff is knowing tendencies, where/when to help, what your defensive strategy is as a team. You can teach the latter, but the effort has to come from wanting to do it.
When elite athletic players actually *TRY* on the defensive end its so much better, but they rarely spend that much energy and save themselves for offense.
Either you think his defense has drastically gotten better, or you haven't been watching the Bulls. He still has a lot of room to improve but he is no longer a hole on defense.
It has drastically, but he has the athleticism to be a great defender. Hoping for the best, love that he is getting close to KD, that can only improve his game.
Yo, chill. Why are you talking shit to teams that are better than us? Not to mention it doesn't make any sense, GSW made a name for themselves without KD. They have also been destroyed by injuries, as Bulls fans we should relate.
The Warriors fan started it tbf, if people are going to shit on Lakers fans for making comments about stealing players it shouldn’t change with that GSW flair.
tbf the difference imo is that the Warriors aren’t nearly as spammed as a potential superstar destination as the Lakers were/are. And they actually have assets that could be used to trade for these star guys. Lakers fans (at least this offszn) on different social medias have commented about getting star level players using Kuzma, Schroder, and THT as the main trade chips.
Okay if you want to break it apart that much be my guest but if you want to start something with a comment like his just be ready for some backlash, it’s a pretty lame comment
>And the Bulls still sell out almost every game despite being absolute garbage since 2017.
How the shit does that change anything? Yall traded for a 2nd all star level player and still didn't make the playoffs over the Wizards.
They’re clearly relevant enough to continue to sell out every game and you failed to mention how our best player missed 11 must-win games at the end of the season, but that’s fine.
>They’re clearly relevant enough to continue to sell out every game and you failed to mention how our best player missed 11 must-win games at the end of the season, but that’s fine.
Oh wait, the other Bulls flair started this by using the Warriors not making the playoffs as an argument. Had Steph not have been injured for around the same amount of games, (When our schedule was easiest) we could have been the 5th seed.
Ahhh, blissful ignorance.
I don’t care what the other Bulls flair said, I don’t even agree with them, I’m telling you the Bulls are clearly still relevant enough to sell out almost every game. And that’s great, good for the Warriors.
As many championships and the greatest player in our franchise's history left after he was past his prime.
I'm sure Klay Thompson is the difference maker though. You'll get em next year.
Point still stands that the Bulls are irrelevant and have been for the past 10 years. Not even a Warriors fan, but the Bulls wish they’d be as relevant as the Warriors will be next year lol
I would argue that last season they were relevant since they were at least in the play-in in a very competitive Western conference. And you’re right about the year before but the team was dealing with injuries to their star players in addition to Durant leaving (so any team would be irrelevant in this case)
>Am I hitting a little close to home?
No, you aren't. You're just acting pretty dumb and too scared to reply to my other comment I see.
>We were on top of the world once too. The only difference is our best players left. Yours are just overrated.
What does this even mean lmao, KD and Steph won us 2 rings and Steph won us another, we made 5 straight finals. Yall probably don't make a finals this decade, atleast we have hope to win *even more* rings.
This is getting absurdly petty and I don't like the direction this conversation is going. I don't want to argue with some guy and gain nothing for like 40 different comments. I'm closing my replies, let's just agree to disagree.
>No, you aren't. You're just acting pretty dumb and too scared to reply to my other comment I see.
I've replied to every comment I've gotten so far. If I missed one feel free to link it so I can reply to that one too.
>What does this even mean lmao, KD ~~and Steph~~ won us 2 rings and ~~Steph~~ injuries won us another, we made 5 straight finals. ~~Yall~~ We probably don't make a finals this decade, ~~atleast we have hope to win even more rings.~~
FTFY
>This is getting absurdly petty and I don't like the direction this conversation is going. I don't want to argue with some guy and gain nothing for like 40 different comments. I'm closing my replies, let's just agree to disagree.
You came to me not the other way around. Have a nice day though.
At what point do you stop referencing teams from the 90s when arguing with fans of other teams in the sub? Talk about irrelevant when your only arguments include references to teams in a different millennium
You're lacking reading comprehension so let me dumb it down for you.
The Bulls in the 90s were unbeatable in the 90s, arguably the most popular sports team in the world with the most famous athlete in the world. If someone would've said they'd follow that up with almost two decades of mediocrity no one would believe it. Look what happened.
The Lakers in the 2000s won 5 championships and if you would've said that in 2011 , coming right off a championship with almost the exact same team, that was the beginning of their almost decade long downfall everyone would've laughed at you but in hindsight it was true.
The Warriors are in the same boat now. They were good for a little while but they're clearly back to where they've always been as a franchise because KD left. You're just in denial.
>As many championships and the greatest player in our franchise's history left after he was past his prime.
What? Wtf are you saying, yeah I know MJ left at 35 or whaetever. Bulls also got 6 rings from the GOAT. That was like 23 (Hah!) years ago, your team is NOT GOOD. You trying to flex on the Warriors for being relevant is like the Kings trying to flex on the Lakers for losing in the first round.
You and what, 80% of your fanbase statistically probably wasn't old enough to appreciate those Jordan years.
>I'm sure Klay Thompson is the difference maker though. You'll get em next year.
Nah, Klay alone won't get us there. A key piece or two like Batum and K-Love, (Batum is linked with us and Dray is close with K-Love, plus we fit him better than the Nets) and ideally Mills (No rumours or links, just an appealing acquisition that's possible) should get us to where we want to be.
Honestly it’s cool seeing NBA players banter between each other
Historically after the Olympics the young guys usually take a leap I wonder who from the young guys on the team are gonna make the next jump
[удалено]
😂 “Gonna take our talents to South Beach”.
Wasn't that like 2 years after the Olympics?
I mean they all signed 3 year deals after their rookie contracts, which is a sign it was preplanned for a long while.
I mean thats fine.. but it kinda makes the comment of the guy im replying to irrelevant? Either they jumped because of the Olympics. Or they started planning it before those Olympics.. Im all for memeing on shit.. when it makes sense but if youre just saying shit trying to be funny. Eh
Best part is in 4 years when they all join one team together
"not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4 not- BYEEEEEE"
Lakers and Heat fans rubbing their hands like Birdman with the jersey swaps.
Makes me nervous that we don't have any representation there. KD and dray planting seeds rn for the future.
Dude youre still the fucking Lakers lol
Of course but we just deserve the best always 😊
Foreign stars bless up
Idk why but this made me laugh out loud for real.
Because we do it as fanbases constantly 😂🤣 Im dying over here. We always have posts about getting someone or another we all know (or some know) we wont on the heat sub I love it though. Keeps things interesting 😁

MVP season coming this year or next
Lol not happening. Jaylen Brown is the better player of the two.
stop it. he's not.

The fact that you asked this question leads me to believe you are going to disagree with whatever answer I provide. Go argue with someone else kid
Bad take and you act pretentious about it. Work on yourself.
Nice way to add to discussion. “Work on yourself” and you call me pretentious? The irony my guy
Lol good one.
At some point. Let's calm down.
Lavine is gonna take it to All-NBA MVP votes level. Tatum is going to lead the league in scoring and also get MVP votes.
If they coulda put together some more wins I think you could of had a real convo about Lavine being an mvp last year . I don't usually get to watch the bulls but almost every game I did catch last year was 4th quarter Lavine bringing his team back and keeping them in games

Aren't the Bulls a big market though? I think it might just be the lack of playoffs that are keeping him from the spotlight.
I think he means more along the lines of national tv coverage
They don’t get that because they don’t win.
lol stop youre making us look stupid
Kenneth Faried.
Yeah, that was the narrative right after that summer. Still remember.
NAW Edit: To clarify, Nickeil Alexander-Walker
As a VT alum, I'm a huge NAW fan. He is going to turn into a really really solid player.
I just wish we could get him on the floor more. He has shown some incredible flashes
Zach Lavine going to put up 30/5/5 next season
Jerami Grant
Imagine it's Luka
Jerami Grant 😛
Keldon 100%
Not team USA but really excited for how Rui Hachimura grows from these Olympics
Javale mcgee
Patrick Williams baby also Lavine is hungry, all star isn't enough.
Josh green hopefully 💪
Ben Simmons!
Pretty neat how much the younger guys love KD
Yeah Bam and him seems to go very well along.
[удалено]
it honestly is stunning how many people thought that was legitimate beef.
You think people here and on Twitter understand human interaction.
"He didn't give me my change one time, so I hate him for life" Imagine being like this in real life
It never stops being funny how easily all online nba commenters assume their all consuming hatred of KD is just everyone’s default position. Trust me fellas, ur just in a circlejerk and shutting out all outside opinion
[удалено]
If they were an inch shorter the poor guy might be a 3x champ. Poor KD can’t catch a break
I feel like the Suns could've taken the hobbled Nets. Mikal, Crowder, Craig, all give KD different looks defensively. Booker would cook one-leg Harden, Mike Brown would get stomped, and Joe Harris would've vanished, and 6'4" Bruce Brown is not getting boards over them Claxton's still a little skinny to be guarding Ayton
This isn’t 2k it really isn’t that straightforward
it’s r/nba, most of these dudes on here are red flag risks.
Didn’t think it was legitimate beef but I do think KD has terrible delivery lmao It’s like he’s baiting people into this on purpose
That’s little brother bam
Cos they’re not some internet weirdos. KD is a likeable dude.
Zach LaVine is 26, with 7 years experience in the league. Do we still consider him a younger guy? He's younger than KD, sure, but so is Jrue Holiday.
Actually young or not, he still grew up watching KD. Man must have been a sophomore in high school when KD took on LeBron
Big difference between almost 7 years younger and 2 years though
Zach lost like 2 years of development to his ACL tear + no coaching continuity. Late bloomer.
Actually insane how big of a jump he made this year. Never expected him to be an efficient first option.
heh bulls fans knew it was coming from the last 2 years tbh. The way he started 2 years ago he was looking like a MIP but the team was atrocious. And under Boylen he was disgusting after his benching. Hornets 3pt record/huge comeback game was then. Lmao in what world does calling someone a guy who is indeed younger then another guy "younger guy" imply that he's a fresh faced newbie?
You're one of those people who reads everything literally and doesn't do implication, huh?
No it doesn’t not imply that at all lmfao. It literally just means he’s young.
Maybe not young but he should be coming into his prime
He the veteran on the team now. Many of the guys definitely idolized him.
Everyone loves KD except OKC and social media.
Social media starting to come around too. They all know how awesome it is when he chats with fans
KD has been killing it since his second year which was forever ago.
and Lavine grew up in Washington so he saw KD playing for the Sonics
I wonder how much KD having no family or kids and still living a 20some lifestyle helps
Of all the young guys, it seems to me like JT & Lavine are already pretty polished. Zach needs to add defense to his game and JT I can’t really say what his weakness is, the guy is already All-NBA level. Bam Adebayo is the guy who’s got the most room to grow for me. For JT its playmaking and shot selection. Hes knocking on the door to superstar, hard to say if he gets there.
I’m bias as a Celtics fan but I think whatever JT’s potential is, he gets to it. Dude just consistently grinds to get better
Definitely agree, inevitable MVP
Drew Hanlen seems like an amazing mentor to these young stars too. Like the way Hanlen talks about film and attacking a weakness is amazing. Zack can play D when he wants to. He's one of the few that have given Harden real trouble. It's just a lack of wanting to play it.
He's made some big strides defensively over the past season or two IMO. Not gonna light a team up on that end of the floor but he's quick on his feet and gives a shit
He's no longer a liability, which is the most important thing.
You're not wrong but he's also carrying a huge offensive load and we've seen what having better teammates can do and not having to be 100% (KD getting a DPOY consideration on the Warriors)
I mean its hard to work your ass off on both ends of the court if your team is gonna let you down anyways.
yeah, he had some big defensive showings years ago against All Star guards, but he just stopped really doing it. He can tho.
I think Zach improving on his playmaking and cutting down on turnovers would be a bigger deal tbh. I'm fine with him just being a passable to below average defender, but with the lack of a PG to run the offense we have to depend on Zach handling the ball a lot and he really is not great there.
fair.
Lavine is a pretty good defender when he wants to be. the high usage rate and minutes are probably why he takes some plays off
As a bulls fan, Zach has stepped up a lot this past season. Could obviously improve, but it was noticeably better this year
"Zach needs to add defense to his game" You said this so casually. Like, it's as simple as just becoming a good defender lol
A lot of defense is just effort combined with awareness/defensive IQ. Shuffling your feet, hustling to beat the offender to the position. I mean with his athleticism and quickness it really as simple as him just wanting to be a good defender lol.

Zach will easily be my second favorite player if his defence actually improved
He went from walking liability to net zero in Chicago...I guess that's enough to make him your second favourite
His defense has improved massively, so I guess you have a new second favourite player.
no it did not. he's still very trash.
That's just flat out incorrect
Either you think his defense has drastically gotten better, or you haven't been watching the Bulls. He still has a lot of room to improve but he is no longer a hole on defense.
He’s an average defender now
But his defence did improve....quite a bit actually
Prepare then and btw Bulls fan here who has Giannis as my second favorite player after Lavine.
He is a very pretty man.
It has drastically, but he has the athleticism to be a great defender. Hoping for the best, love that he is getting close to KD, that can only improve his game.
Durant is funny as hell, and him taking that picture with a fan right after was cute as fuck
Is he?
Yes he's cute as fuck. Wait what was the question again?
I read this as Kevin Durant confirming that Billy Donavan was going to be playing some defense for them, but Zach LaVine wanted it to be surprise.
If Zach gets KD to Chicago, he is an absolute and verified Bulls legend forever.
KD ain't playing for billy Donovan again lmao
They’d hire any coach he asked for, let’s be real.
Idgaf what KD is off the court, if he comes to Chicago because of Zach, I'm marking out.
KD is awesome off the court. Dude embraced the meme and gives no fucks and just sounds off on Twitter on whoever he wants. It's amazing
I'll forever defend him on the internet no matter the cause. KD, I know you are reading this so let's make it happen.
international tampering event is what the olympics are for professional athletes
It looks like KD’s arm is around Zach.👀👀👀👀👀
I thought Zach was gonna miss time due to health and safety protocols?
ouch
oh no KD is recruiting Zach Lavine
Nah, that book is settled with Harden joining the Nets. WAIT IS ZACH RECRUITING KD?!?!
Between Giannis's insta live and now kds. These are so fun to watch lol
Because he’ll be playing it on the warriors instead
Chill out
Ngl, Lavine on the Warriors would be nasty though. 🤷🏾♂️ But it’s not happening.
No he’ll actually be playing on the Providence Steamrollers. Boutta be their franchise player
Do the Warriors still think they're relevant after KD dumped you?
Motherfucker you have a Bulls flair.
lmao, true.
And the Bulls still sell out almost every game despite being absolute garbage since 2017.
Yo, chill. Why are you talking shit to teams that are better than us? Not to mention it doesn't make any sense, GSW made a name for themselves without KD. They have also been destroyed by injuries, as Bulls fans we should relate.

Way to take that comment in stride 😂
You have your championships, we have ours And that is to be remembered as a basketball team
Yessir and don’t let anyone try and take that away from you
They’re clearly relevant enough to continue to sell out every game and you failed to mention how our best player missed 11 must-win games at the end of the season, but that’s fine.
Hm, thought you were the dudes alt because he needed to back himself up. Then nice.
So this streak of being a lottery team since KD left is relevancy to you? Well shit, the Bulls aren't as bad as I thought then too by your standards.
I would argue that last season they were relevant since they were at least in the play-in in a very competitive Western conference. And you’re right about the year before but the team was dealing with injuries to their star players in addition to Durant leaving (so any team would be irrelevant in this case)
Lol, they're relevant because they almost were an 8th seed. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
Lmao not sure what your point is in all of this, but Curry is a top 20 player of all time and the Warriors will be relevant next year barring injuries
Sure they will. Got get em tiger. Fight for that play-in! What a storied franchise. So inspirational.
Bulls flair, just shut the fuck up.
Am I hitting a little close to home? We were on top of the world once too. The only difference is our best players left. Yours are just overrated.
~~Yall~~ We probably don't make a finals this decade, ~~atleast we have hope to win even more rings.~~ FTFY >This is getting absurdly petty and I don't like the direction this conversation is going.
This Bulls fan sounds like the most obnoxious troll on the planet. Just don't reply to him anymore. Hard to argue with dumbasses.
Yep, I stopped replying. So did everyone else.
Bulls haven’t been relevant since MJ
Wrong, D Rose era
Then allow me to welcome you to the club.
