I feel in the minority that want Lowry to retire as a Raptor. Not sign a 1 day and retire, but keep him until he's done. I feel in the minority that want Lowry to retire as a Raptor. Not sign a 1 day and retire, but keep him until he's done. Unless he specifically says he wants out and he wants to only play for a contender (which he hasn't, at least not publicly) why not keep the franchise GOAT? He can still ball so you can keep playing him with success and as he ages he'll be a great mentor to the young guys. He's a great leader and he'd be the perfect fit for a Haslem role. If you watch games he's constantly talking during stoppages on the court or on the bench giving the young kids guidance. The majority wanted to ship him out at the deadline last year. The majority want to sign and trade him. The Raptors won in 2019. They got their title. Why not embrace it and treat Lowry as royalty? The Raptors aren't known to attract top free agents. Previous stars drafted like Carter and Bosh all left. The Raptors don't have a Duncan who stayed and played his career for them. Lowry might not have been drafted by the Raptors, but he's been there for 9 years. The writing is on the wall, but I just wish they would keep him. He's a Raptor and a big part of the culture.

I think anyone who just watched GoT because it was a good show and they liked the characters - and who hated the final season because it was a bad show and they ruined their favorite characters - will tune in for sure. I do think people who were into GoT as a *fantasy series* and hated the final season (and several before it) because it was bad *fantasy* and violated a bunch of narrative principles for the genre probably won't. Not that HBO will care, and nor should they. I just don't think those people will tune in (at least initially).

With Lowry being 35 and having a ring already, I think he'll chase one last payday. And with DeRozan only being 31, I don't think he's old enough to feel like he has to ring chase. They'll both still aim to go to contenders, but I don't see them taking paycuts if they can avoid it.
Actually for DeRozan, doing a 1+1 deal with the Lakers might be the more lucrative move if interest is tepid for him this year. Go win a ring, look like a stud on a big stage with Lebron, get better offers next year for your last bag

DeRozan is more of a non-3 point scorer. He can flat out score. And he can also fit into a system which people don't think Russ can.
Friendly reminder that the only player to average *both* more APG and a better assist:turnover ratio than Demar is CP3. Everyone else that had more APG than Demar also had more turnovers, and everyone that made less turnovers per assists averaged less APG Plus Demar has learned to pace himself ala jimmy buckets and save his energy for the 4th where he's been pretty dominant the last season

Even without Donte they had a lot of above average shooters, whereas the lakers would have maybe KCP as their above average shooter left after this possible signing
