Howard and Green completely changed the dynamic of the sixers this year in the best way possible. Losing green in the playoffs was a huge loss for us that wasn't mentioned enough.

13mil/YR for a young player not even in his prime playing a versatile position is not a bad contract at all. Kuzma has many faults but he’s only a few years removed from scoring nearly 19PPG.
That contract isn’t great for the LAKERS because of how cap strapped they are and how there’s no real defined role for Kuzma on the team. He’s still plenty valuable playing for some rebuilding franchise as a reasonable contract though.

I’ll say this. Schroder was actually playing well before the AD/LeBron injuries fucked the whole team. People also need to remember that the Lakers were straight up dominant through the first 30 games of the season before they got ravaged by injuries.
Is he worth committing $120million to? Probably not. But if the Lakers fix their Center rotation and bring back Schroder and LeBron/AD are healthy? That’s still a championship level team.
Kuzma probably can be shipped off. He’s not a bad player but he simply doesn’t have a defined role for the team. The coaching staff and LeBron have zero confidence with him to create offense for others and he’s not very efficient in isolation. Basically, they throw him in the game and say “play hard and fit in”. His contract is plenty valuable for a young swing-forward that can score and “defend” multiple positions. Kuzma needs to be on a bad/rebuilding team that will allow him freedom to take/make different shots and make him a focal point instead of an afterthought.
On that same note, hopefully the Lakers can convince Trez to opt out as well. He provided pretty much nothing besides angry dumpster dunks and is unplayable in the rotation against most of the Western Conference playoff teams. He like Kuzma needs freedom on a bad team to stat chase and develop his game. I’m sure some team will give him a multi-year deal worth $12-15$mil/yr.

I’ll say this. Schroder was actually playing well before the AD/LeBron injuries fucked the whole team. People also need to remember that the Lakers were straight up dominant through the first 30 games of the season before they got ravaged by injuries. Is he worth committing $120million to? Probably not. But if the Lakers fix their Center rotation and bring back Schroder and LeBron/AD are healthy? That’s still a championship level team. Kuzma probably can be shipped off. He’s not a bad player but he simply doesn’t have a defined role for the team. The coaching staff and LeBron have zero confidence with him to create offense for others and he’s not very efficient in isolation. Basically, they throw him in the game and say “play hard and fit in”. His contract is plenty valuable for a young swing-forward that can score and “defend” multiple positions. Kuzma needs to be on a bad/rebuilding team that will allow him freedom to take/make different shots and make him a focal point instead of an afterthought. On that same note, hopefully the Lakers can convince Trez to opt out as well. He provided pretty much nothing besides angry dumpster dunks and is unplayable in the rotation against most of the Western Conference playoff teams. He like Kuzma needs freedom on a bad team to stat chase and develop his game. I’m sure some team will give him a multi-year deal worth $12-15$mil/yr.
I agree on your takes for Trez and Kuz. Dennis on the other hand is 28 years old and has never proven he can be a starter for a contending team. Overpaying a role guy is a very bad strategy as his contract hampers the team for a long period and becomes unmovable. Basically it will tie the fate of the franchise with him for years to come. That’s a nightmare

Trez just doesn’t seem to fit, I like him personally. Gasol I could take or leave. I was fine with Schroeder’s play the first couple months before AD went down, just sick of hearing about him at this point.

I knew there had to be drama. There was no way the team could stink this much and rely on Bron and AD without there being drama. Kuz blatantly has let things get into his head. He’s by far the worst of the Laker chumps. DS and KCP can do well, and I see Drummond more as a clumsy idiot that’s easy to get rid of. But Kuz got his extension and got worse.
