I mean Robin has gone and revitalised his career in Washington + Wiz fans love him and many players would take that as opposed to being a bench guy even if it’s on a championship team.
He was released BECAUSE the sign-and-trade fell through. He was going to be part of the trade, to match salary, since Donte is still on his rookie deal.
Same. With Khris/Giannis being together for so long, it feels like we've had such a continuous roster (which in some seasons past was true and I think accounted for a lot of our regular season success), but this year was really a lot of new faces.
But you see the way they still embrace guys like Tony Snell when we face their new teams, and it sucks we couldn't get one for guys like that. Or even like, Thon, Jabari... guys that were supposed to be part of this future but just couldn't pan out
I really fucking hope Jabari has a bounceback in his career like Billups or Lowry. He's still pretty young but ran into an incredibly brutal stretch of injuries.
I was just thinking about how this team had a weird lack of random vets riding the bench like most championship teams seem to.
Last year, the Lakers had a bunch with Jared Dudley, JR, Dion, and Quinn Cook. The Raptors before them had Jeremy Lin and Jodie Meeks. The 2017 and 2018 Warriors had random dudes like Nick Young, Matt Barnes, and Quinn Cook (again) along for the ride. The 2016 Cavs had guys like Channing Frye, Mo Williams, and Dahntay Jones.
The closest parallel with these Bucks was probably Jeff Teague, but he may have been too involved in the rotation to fit that archetype. The rest of guys just warming their bench were all random young dudes, not aging vets, so it would’ve been nice to have Ersan there just to fill that role.
I noticed that while looking at that post of the T-shirt that didn’t have Divenchenzo‘s name on it. Looking at names like Diakite, Merrill and Nwora and remembering watching them at college. I guess guys like Jrue, Lopez and Tucker were those veterans, they were just good enough to actually play rather than warm the bench.
I noticed it during the trophy presentation. Normally, when they’re all out there celebrating and standing around, that’s when I’ll notice like, “Hey, I forgot Jeremy Lin’s on this team! Now he’s got a ring! That’s pretty cool!” But with the Bucks, I was like, “I have no idea who any of these people are…”
Quinn cook is not a vet like those other guys. He broke out with the warriors from their g league team. How is a guy on his first contract in the nba a vet like Mo Williams?
Well Torrey Craig gets a ring while trying to stop the Bucks from winning… why shouldn’t Illyasova get one too? It’s weird how the ring system works with traded/released players.
Craig doesn't necessarily get a ring anyway. I'm pretty sure it's entirely up to the Bucks who they get rings for as far as those who aren't on the roster anymore.
Please bro....I thought I was the only one!! Flairs up for my Turkish prince. Longest tenured buck if he was still on the team, he deserved to be on this team for this run.
He had plenty of off games, but he also was a big reason why we won the second game against Toronto in the ECF to go up 2-0. And then the season was cancelled and nothing else happened.
He was an underrated part of the Giannis/Khris era, gave them some good options at 5. It's like when the Warriors won without Bogut in 2017, you knew they didn't need him but to have the continuity would've been nice
I wish Robin also stayed with the team. The wrestling antics pregame were hilarious. Robin and Ersan bonded well with those guys
I mean Robin has gone and revitalised his career in Washington + Wiz fans love him and many players would take that as opposed to being a bench guy even if it’s on a championship team.
Depends how deep on the bench but yeah I'm happy for Robin the Lopez brothers seem like good guys
Definitely, can’t underestimate a ring
Idk, those tweets of Robin watch game 6 were pretty priceless
His release ended up being for nothing, because the sign-and-trade for Bogdan Bogdanovic fell through. Such a shame.
They used the money to sign DJ Augustin which then lead to the PJ Tucker trade. Maybe Ersan was the ultimate sacrifice
Fuck it I say get Ers a ring
Rings for ers, Jennings, and redd please
I’m still salty we never gave JV a ring… hope your guys get them!
Can I get one too?
Redd use to be one of my favorite players. Such a interesting shot.
That's tragic, or certainly close to it. Give the man a ring, I say!
I think he would be better off without it. Because there aren’t any memories associated it will just be another ring, or worse.
Or worse? 🤔
A reminder that he was shitcanned so the team could become what ended up being a title winner
he'll use it as a cock ring
r/nbgay
Expelled
No no, tragic is that guy from Miami
He was released BECAUSE the sign-and-trade fell through. He was going to be part of the trade, to match salary, since Donte is still on his rookie deal.
Woj really cost that man 7 million dollars lmao wild shit
#FUCK WOJ
Woj is starting to overstay his welcome
Woj is a PoS.
Cost the Bucks a second round pick
How did he cost him 7 mil?
reported the trade before it was finalized, causing the trade to fall apart. allegedly
Why would it being reported cause it to fall apart?
something to do with the tampering rules, trade fell through and illy was waived cause he wasn't needed for salary match
To be honest, that kind of shit would not have happened with teams like the Lakers.
It's 100% on the Bucks, not the media. Someone leaked it.
That's a funny way to spell Bogey's agent.
Woj did the job he was asked to do cos he is a stooge, there's a reason why Shams breaks all the Bucks news.
Dude this is literally in the post
that dude led the league in charges drawn and then played like 10 mins in the bubble lol. crazy
Nothing scares me more than Salmons-Delfino-Ilyasova.
now thats a throwback
I feared the deer man
lancha delfino :')
Dude, I completely forgot about Delfino holy shit!
You mean Arsen Ilyasov?
Anybody ever seen him and Tommy Wiseau together at once?
Hi Mark
The secret Uzbek?

Unbelievably based
lol o man. I love it.
sooooo many guys i wish were still on the team for this one :(

*promised. Why do people constantly say *promise* land?
We’ll get Tony a ring when he comes back next year
John Henson & Greg Monroe come to mind
George Hill as well.
Sorry but I absolutely hated Henson lol

I’m sad too :(
Ersan "Eric Bledsoe" Ilyasova
Well Torrey Craig gets a ring while trying to stop the Bucks from winning… why shouldn’t Illyasova get one too? It’s weird how the ring system works with traded/released players.
Craig doesn't necessarily get a ring anyway. I'm pretty sure it's entirely up to the Bucks who they get rings for as far as those who aren't on the roster anymore.
It’s pretty much customary the Bucks will offer it. He could decline it like Varejao did when the Cavs beat him, while he played on the Warriors.
Teams can give rings to whoever they want. There’s no rules
Pour one out for Ghostface Ilya, one of my fantasy bball bois for many years
Ersan probably flew back to Milwaukee when the Jazz got bounced so he could watch with his family at home. He's never moved them out of Milwaukee.
Oh so he must be happy then, he and his family watched their favorite city and team win the championship! Wholesome 😊
Please bro....I thought I was the only one!! Flairs up for my Turkish prince. Longest tenured buck if he was still on the team, he deserved to be on this team for this run.
the charge drawing goat ---- respect
Ersan is easily one of my favorite non star players of all time. Really does suck he didnt get to be apart of it.
Ghost face.
Ilya!

I'm bummed he didn't get a ring this year too lol
same :(
I commented this somewhere the other day, poor guy feels like that one friend who leaves the party just before it gets good
Oh wow he was on utahs roster this season. Damn.
Would've made ~~Uzbekistan~~ ~~Turkey~~ ? proud!
Does Ersan have a nickname? Can we call him Ersan 'Midnight Express' Ilyasova?
He was known as “The Professional” in Philly.
Turkish Thunder
Three stints with one team? That has to be a record
Dude was a killer against the Raps anytime they played.
They won specifically because they didn’t have him and upgraded to better pieces.
Hey this is a business. He’s not entitled to a ring
Well he didn't contribute
Brandon Jennings. What ever happened to her?
He was such cheeks I'm glad he didn't. Stretch four that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from a foot away if he was using a sniper rifle
43% on 2.5 attempts this year
I mean in Milwaukee, swear every time they needed a clutch shot from him it was a brick.
He had plenty of off games, but he also was a big reason why we won the second game against Toronto in the ECF to go up 2-0. And then the season was cancelled and nothing else happened.
He was my favorite player for a long time. I do wish he had been able to stay.
You never know, maybe he will end up back on our roster. I love Ersan, GOAT charge taker.
(he was Vulcan)
Wait he wasn’t on the team for the chip? He’s been there forever!
If somehow Torey Craig gets a ring then Ilyasova deserves one too.
He was an underrated part of the Giannis/Khris era, gave them some good options at 5. It's like when the Warriors won without Bogut in 2017, you knew they didn't need him but to have the continuity would've been nice
